19Best enchiladas ever! The rice is also amazing and fluffy and the beans are cheesy goodness. Every thing I've tasted is amazing. I've been visiting this family-owned restaurant for many years and the quality has consistently been delicious and the serving sizes are a large portion. Excellent service too! Must try the food here! So delicious!
In my option, this is the best place for authentic Mexican food. Hence, why all my caucasian friends are here all the time and always have to wait. Damn it. Haha enjoy!
Great food as usual. The only thing of course is that it was cold siding outside. Outside dining.
El Tap is our absolute favorite restaurant! The owners and restaurant staff are so welcoming and friendly and always give extraordinary service. The food there is delicious! Any time friends or family come visit us from out of town or state, we always make sure to take them there before they go back home. Five stars all the way and even more if I could!

Food was not up to par.
Chile relleno was mostly fried rubbery egg, small piece of chile. Outside seating was cozy with outside heaters. That's why 3 stars instead of two
Absolutely delicious! I had a breakfast plate. The beans and rice taste authentic. Chips and salsa are good. And we had great service!
Lunch was delicious, service was great, and the margaritas were fantastic!
They even threw in little red chips since it was Valentine's Day. Too cute!
This place is completely disgusting the chili sauce tastes like chef boyordi which they absolutely pour over every square inch of your plate, the so called "ground beef" used for the tacos has the a terrible low quality texture to it reminiscent of those 85 cent chorrizo sticks you get from the supermarket and the chili rellenos are more like half cooked omlets buried under mountains of rice beans and spaghetti o sauce and to add final insult to injury this has to be one the most expensive Mexican food places in town my wife and I paid 37 dollars for lunch never coming back.eat here at you're own risk because chances are you'll be disappointed
El Tap is the bomb! It has been for decades, great service, screaming food, the molé is probably the best I've ever had. Oh, and how can you forget the SUPER margarita! A must if you are itching for Mexican food.
Wow.lots of food. Friendly staff. Bathrooms clean.went for a large group funeral. Quick. Only one bad. Table going down hill had to move.
When I lived in Porterville, I would visit El Tapatio at least once a week. I now live in another state. I remember their fried street taco-sized tortillas, instead of chips were the best! Everything I ever ate there, I enjoyed very much. ¡Estuvo muy sabrosa!
YUMMY! Can't even tell you how good this food is! Absolutely amazing with huge portions. Could only finish about a quarter of my meal.
Food was not good! The asada meat was at least 2 days old and the tostada was not fresh at all. IF YOU LIKE REAL MEXICAN FOOD DO NOT COME HERE
As a Mexican myself, I know what Mexican Food is and how it should be, and this food comes to that level of quality. There are some flaws, but it’s pretty good!
Best Mexican food in town! Prices are good too. Only reason I couldn't give 5 stars, is the waitress was spread thin. Amazing food!
Best Mexican food-EVER!
I have lived all over the U. S.and El Tapatio is my restaurant that I have compared ALL Mexican food I have ever eaten with. And, nothing holds a candle to El Tap-nothing! The Gutierrez family are wonderful and their family of staff are so welcoming on top of the food being superb!
Oh! Man, so I ordered shrimp with garlic and there was a HAIR in my shrimp! So ok they being me a second plate only to find paper in the shrimp! The lady gets my piece of paper and says it's from the shrimp I said no its paper. She comes back from the kitchen to tell me she confirmed it's from the butter ok but didnt offer a discount or anything. So I keep trying to enjoy the meal and found another piece of paper. Never Again Going There.
