Crystal was great! I've only ever had acrylics done once and I'm really hard on my nails, but they're still on and I've even painted, like, half of home with them on. No problems!:) It took longer than I thought it would, but nails always do. Good experience.

Recently stopped by and wanted a pedicure. Technician said it would be about 15 minutes and gets me set up in a chair soaking feet. Check watch after 15 minutes and they push over the cart like they’ll start any minute and give me a water. Check watch after another 15 minutes and she sits down in front like she’s going to start then gets up and continues working on her current client. Check watch 15 minutes later and she comes and checks what color I want and walks away again. Completely frustrated I get up and walk out. I wouldn’t recommend this salon. I believe the ownership changed recently and this was my second time in with poor service.

I think it's new owners? They are very nice, shop is clean, and really did an awesome job! Crystal was very hospitable. We will be back again.

Been coming here for 5+ years and always been my go to! The ladies who work here have always been so nice and welcoming to me along with doing a great job!
I don’t have any complaints except the new owner who is a man is not very nice and selective to who he is kind to. He doesn’t wear a mask ever inside or around his customers and doesn’t seem to lend help to his employees. It makes me want to go elsewhere because of his attitude and things i’ve seen.

I have never written a review of a business before, but was so upset with their practices that I have to say some thing in hopes that somebody might read this and not go. My nailbeds are still in pain from my horrible experience here.

I came here for a full set of acrylics with my boyfriend, who came with me to get a touchup pedicure.

First of all, the woman who removed my existing sent was absolutely brutal with them, only soaked them for five minutes at most, and then proceeded to rip the acrylic nails off my existing one in a way that ripped off every bit of white on my real nail and left me with painful, splintering stubs. My real nails had grown quite long under my acrylics and she ripped off all of it instead of taking the time to properly soak them and remove them.at one point she wasn’t even looking as she ripped them off, and cut my finger open right underneath the nail. When I exclaimed “ow! ” she looked at me in surprise and asked if it hurt I said yes and she continued to rip them off with very little care anyways. Didn’t even bother to file/take any care of my real nail before gluing the new set on. She rushed through my set and again WASN’T EVEN LOOKING while cutting them to my desired length. When she was filing them down, she kept rubbing down my skin because she wasn’t looking also. They came out quite uneven and she even left nail polish on my fingers, and a ton of leftover gel that got stuck between my skin and the nail. Unbelievable. The nail polish was uneven, and the nails kept getting caught in my clothes because they had such rough finishes.

My boyfriends pedicure did not last more than 10 minutes and had nothing other than soaking his feet in water and exfoliating them for maybe 30 seconds each. Then they put lotion on. They were very rude to him and myself in a way that they weren’t with other customers. We were the only people of color in the shop, every other customer was white.

When two white customers came in behind us, they treated them completely differently. They suggested that they check out the expanded color selection in the back of the store, which they had never mentioned to me, and overall gave them much kinder service. We were just happy to get out of there.

UPDATE: I came back to get one of my nails fixed, the whole nail came off with the dip less than two weeks after I got them done. The girl in charge asked me to pay. I was very upset because I’ve been going to this place for over 3 years and I have NEVER seen them charge anyone for a broken nail.

I love this place! My nails came out really nice and the staff is always so nice and accommodating. I felt really safe during COVID, everyone were wearing masks and they had additional dividers in each station.

I love my nails, they did a great job for what they are working with. Very ingenious the way they are making it work. I appreciated them dumping my unused powder, from gel dip, in the trash and not using it communally. However the 4 star is because I was charged the same price for a outside wash tub pedicure as I would habe in a massage chair with warm water and jets. But hey you gotta do what you gotta do in these times I guess.

Let me start off by saying this review is not out of hate. It’s out of major disappointment.

The same employee named Vin who gave me a set price over the phone, a day prior to my appointment, was unbelievably rude and unprofessional towards me when we discussed a hidden fee face to face that he didn’t disclose over the phone. They were charging more to shape my nails coffin shape. The phone conversation was detailed. I say detailed because explaining exactly what services I needed and going over covid policies is detailed.

When I got there, Vin’s demeanor in person was WAY OFF. In front of all his customers. It was like he was offended that I would question the discrepancy.

Price wasn’t the main issue though. This salon does charge $20 more than other salons, including the one I originally go to called Top Nails in Oxnard. But my regular nail place has yet to open due to Covid. So I had to settle for this place. I’ve been here, to Encore, about twice in the past, it became my last resort. They didn’t charge for shaping the previous times I came.

I understand these are horribly hard times for many but come on.

Here’s the story.
I called this place to make an appointment so my 25-30 minute drive wouldn’t be pointless. But in contrary, I had my worst nail salon experience ever, before even sitting down.

On the phone Vin asked to specify what service I needed and was given a price of $92 for a full set gel nail and pedicure gel nail. He said to bring cash, they weren’t accepting cards (weird, but ok).

When I got there, the price given was $97. Not that big of a deal right? I agree. Five $ more, no biggie. But the price agreed upon was in cash, they were not excepting cards. I had limited bills on me. Plus, I trusted that man’s word. That’s what was pitiful. The lack of honor. The rude behavior and his gross pride.

As a business, you either honor the price you made a mistake on or you at least acknowledge your mistake and handle the situation to the best of your ability. At least ask for the dispute to be moved AWAY from your customers. You’re outside (business was being conducted outside- cool), there’s plenty of room. Business ethics. Respect.

Plain and simple. Be CLEAR and HONEST with your customers. If you forgot to disclose fee over phone, THAT’S OK, just acknowledge that and move on. I could have gone to the bank, which would have been out of my way, but I would have done that, just to give a proper tip. But to disregard the comfort of your other customers over your ego? Over $5? That cost the business $97 x 3 because my two friends decided not to do business here after what had happened.

I’ve been getting my nails done for almost 15 years. I’ve been lucky to have been to several excellent nail spots. But when your spot is closed and other great salons near by are closed, you gotta go with what’s available. Never to this place again though.

Two stars for their pre-COVID services- friendly, good work on nails. Went today and it was a poor attempt at nail service. Made an appointment via phone on Monday for a Wednesday 10AM- had to wait 30 minutes. When I was finally called by a nail tech, she walked over to me, rudely ripped a pen out of my hand (given to me by the manger to sift through the samples to avoid touching), threw the pen on the table. I explained to her that he had given it to me to safely examine the samples, she asked if I knew what color I wanted, I turned to look at the number, and she hollered something and sat someone else. In addition, after asking for a color by number for my daughter, the wrong color was put on. Techs are under lots of pressure to "go go go" (managers words, not mine), however there are plenty of nail salons in Camarillo so I can avoid rude nail techs under pressure.

Thankful to have found Encore Nails. They are offering services outdoors. They have a great set up to keep things moving. Thank you!

Not happy with service. I had a man do my pedicure and it was not sufficient in my book. Half done. I usually bring my own polish but this was a spare of the moment decision. He would not talk or even look at me. Totally unfriendly. I asked if he would please cut nails shorter, he shook his head at me, like I was bothering him. Then I asked politely after he did one toe, if he would use the other color. Again he shook his head at me, like I was causing too much trouble
The girl that did my nails, no conversation but did a good job. I felt very unappreciated. Not going back! 09/11/2020.

Paid $30 for the girl to cut my cuticles so poorly my toe was bleeding, outdoor service is lacking, barely lukewarm water for the foot soak, she finished in less than 10 minutes, sloppy job with the polish, I had to go back in to ask someone else to remove the polish she left on my skin. Not going back -and I should have asked for a refund.
