16 EOS Encinitas is a really great fitness facility. It's clean and well maintained. They have a good variety of fitness classes as well as a lot of equipment. I am working with a personal trainer, Keke. She is amazing. I highly recommend her. She is knowledgeable and really inspires me. She makes sure I am doing all work-outs correctly. She pushes me to be the best I can be.

I'm learning a lot from my great trainer Gab and I think there are some special perks to this location that make it very nice to exercise in.
5 stars all the way around! I joined this gym for the classes and they are fantastic. The instructors are knowledgable and they really care about your workout. The front desk people are very welcoming and take the time to answer questions. Ben, who did my membership, was great and no pressure. Always a place to park. The members are friendly. The bathrooms are clean. There are hundreds of gyms to join and I really feel like I made the right choice. Thanks for making my transition back into working out comfortable and worth it.
Locker rooms and showers are DIRTY… Definitely not being cleaned anywhere near once a day….
Been here 2.5 months & bathrooms are filthy. Drains are usually clogged unless another customer or myself remove hair, underwear, paper towels, or shampoo bottles from drain reservoir area. The bench is hanging halfway out of the wall & shower head in main showers is broken. Been staring at the same blood spot on shower curtains for 2 months. Smells of BO & urine most times in shower, not disinfectant or cleaner
Nice gym, shady billing practices, $25 fees for not collecting payment after one attempt? No thanks. Went from $25 to $90 (including annual but still). Call to talk to a manager about reversing the fee and they want more access to my financials to do it? Nope. Guy i talk to after 5 days without a folliw up just straight up says hes not gonna cancel the membership and wont even pick uo the phone anymore. What a joke. Never again. Ever.
Not impressed with this gym. Awkward layout, very little machinery despite the size of the building.
I canceled my membership within the 5 day “buyers remorse” period as mentioned in the contract. It’s been 3 weeks and my membership is still “pending cancellation”. Now I have an additional $80 to settle with them.
Would not recommend this gym.
Front Desk team is great. Some of the friendliest people I know and most helpful. I started coming here with little gym experience and was scared of judgement due to inexperience. To Jaden at the front desk all questions were valid and all help was given. Really started off my gym career strong!
Everyone thinking about joining this gym: CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENTS! I noticed an unauthorized charge on my credit card in October, $50. After weeks trying to contact one of those District Operations Managers that reply to reviews, I finally got an email from Markki Petrina, who told me that I was charged $50 for a "welcome workout". I have never been offered that service, I have never agreed with that charge and I have never received that service. Why would I pay $50 for a welcome workout if I was already a member?
Markki Petrina told me she would refund that unauthorized charge, and asked me to wait 24h for the transaction to be completed. It was in November. Since then, she has been wasting my time with excuses and promises. Now, she does not even reply my emails and my calls never go through. Have you blocked my phone number, Markki?
This is not an isolated problem, just check EoS on Better Business Bureau to see hundreds of similar complaints against this shady and unprofessional business.
I joined this gym just for the kids club. It’s the best kids club I’ve seen. Since Covid very few gyms have kids club anymore but this gym still has one and it’s really great! They do full on science experiments and crafts. Also the gym is great with lot of variety of equipment. It’s not brand new like equinox but then again you are only paying $20 bucks vs $200. This is my go to gym when I have my daughter and she loves going.
Love this gym. The staff are awesome, the group classes are amazing, and the best part…I love leaving my 15 year old pug in the pet area knowing he will get tons of pets, dog socialization, and love. Great outdoor areas with tons of equipment. Only thing this location is missing is a pool/hot tub. Otherwise it’s near perfect!
I chose this gym because of their child care. I visited the Encinitas location with my 8 yo daughter, she approved the child care, so I signed up for membership that same day. When I came back that same week, the child care lights were off, so I came to one of several people next to the front desk to ask for information. One man approached me, and in a very rude and condescending way, told me that the person supposed to run the child watch didn't show up. No more explanations or an apology for the inconvenience. He actually sounded annoyed with my question. Keep in mind that I am a member and was asking about a service I paid for.
I obviously felt disappointed that I drove all the way to the gym with my child and wouldn't be able to work out, so I asked if that was a situation that happens often. He told me he couldn't tell the future and if I wanted I could leave my daughter in the lobby, "it's your call", he said! I couldn't believe how disrespectful and irresponsible that answer was. It turns out, he is the General Manager of that location, and he seriously suggested that I left a child unattended in the lobby, like a dog or something!
I cancelled my membership that same day - $85 wasted for nothing.
I understand the gym being short-staffed, this is being our reality for over 2 years, but disrespecting a paying member and neglecting a child's safety is unacceptable.
They didn't note when I canceled my membership, so they've been charging me the past 4 months. When I called to try to cancel (again) they said they still have to charge me again because of the "30 day notice". Seems like a scummy way to make money. I will not ever return to any Eos gyms.
Asked for a tour of this gym and staff did so much more…Maryn removed the $25 expired credit card fee from my account.
Gym is nice however the sales process is deceiving and manipulative
They led with saying you can sign up within your 7 day period for $1 for the first moNth and then it’s only $15.99 after that
Then as soon as I went to go sign up as I was literally signing the documents the rep says there will also be a $49.99 annual fee charged in the first moNth
Learn to be upfront and direct with your customers. Honesty and clarity always wins
Everyone is really nice and welcoming here. I really like the open air doors, outdoor area and tall ceilings. Makes working out feel less claustrophobic when the place gets busy.
