I stayed here a few nights before I found housing in Eureka, California. It was a great place with food and the word of the Lord the Holy Bible.
My son is disabled by mental illness. He often attends uplifting presentations and meals at the Rescue Mission. He is greatly moved by the speakers there and comforted by overnight stays during this long winter of wind, rain, and hail storms. The Rescue Mission staff has been protective and welcoming without criticism or judgement and has made him feel that he can rely on their kindness and support. My son’s mental illness has sometimes put a wedge between himself and our family. But, the Rescue Mission has built trust and strength within his mind, and we greatly appreciate their ever-present care. We are not religious people, but we admire that staff does not push religious doctrine yet builds character within. We appreciate the services provided by Behavioral Health and other agencies through the Rescue Mission. My son enjoys his contact with his old high school teacher who volunteers at the Mission. Hats off to all the volunteers and employees who spend many hours protecting and supporting our homeless and disabled people there. -Carol Green
