European Wax Center, Castro Valley CA

Wax service was great, however counter service needs work. They asked me for photo ID. AFTER my service was already completed. Seriously?

One of the ladies made me feel rushed and I didn't even do the work. But she was going so fast, not even trying to calm me. Just working like a machine. Def didn't feel good.

I've been going for years and I love it. I would never go back to strip waxing. As someone with sensitive skin the was they use and products keep me from breaking out.

I have yet to be waxed by the same person, as I just book online the night before. Always great customer service, and skilled estis.

I love this location everyone is Amazing from the front desk ladies to the waxers! I have been waxing here for 4-5 years now and I've never had a bad experience. I've been seeing Courtney for a while now and she is so sweet and takes her time to explain things to you she make you feel comfortable. I thought she was amazing so I started having my daughter get waxed by her. She loves her too! One day Courtney had no availability so we ended up with Cecilia and let me tell you, she was super sweet as well, very personable and makes you feel at ease! Thank you for always being awesome EWC

I had my worst first experience here, she was very quick and never let me know she was staring, it was very off guard.after I was done, it was still a lot of hair left and it wasn’t a good job at all. So I would not recommend this place.

This location IS THE BEST! Everyone here is amazing and super nice! My waxer Courtney is AMAZING! Super personable, gentle, professional and always applies the right amount of pressure for a more comfortable waxing experience! I HIGHLY recommend her. Seriously. She is the best!

Fantastc estheticians! I've been getting waxed here for years and I love the location because it has parking and other cool stors to check out.

Dropped for full wax, they were booked but fit me in. And the Technician was the best, she did everything needed and without much discomfort. I'm definitely coming back and asking for her again.

I love my waxier. My old waxier is on hiatus so I have been seeing Monica and boy is she good. She answers all of your questions, she is very informative and will advise you the products needed to keep your skin as its best. Monica is very friendly and we have a great time. It makes you feel at ease when someone with compassion and knowledge is waxing you. Also, she makes is painless as possible. I would recommend Monica to anyone who wants a good waxier.

I love this place! All the receptionists are so sweet and welcoming especially Liz and Justice! I have not had any bad experiences with any of the waxers I have been to but Lisa is my girl. She is very thorough and very sweet!

First off, the receptionist are rude and lack respect. Especially one named Justuce, constantly talking down to people instead of doing her job. My first time here I decided to have them wax my eyebrows, the wax specialist did not use product and did not care about the wax temperature. I ended up with slight burns and broke out because of the negligence. The waxers are only focused on your tip and their times to finish, unfortunately you wont find any good recommendations here anymore. All the GOOD waxers left. The manager Nathalie never attempted to address this issue. I would strongly recommend a different location.

Very clean place. Nice workers. Make your appointment and keep it if you more than 10 minutes late you lose your appmt.

Update: I was incredibly impressed by the very genuine and quick response I received from Natalie, the manager of this center. She was professional, understanding and eager to both better understand what happened and help find a workable solution. In the service industry things happen, I understand when dealing with hot wax there will be times it's too hot and I was just the unfortunate person on the receiving end of that hot batch (also needed to speak up sooner and question the temp). I'm healed and it's not the end of the world, but most importantly Natalie displayed the qualities of a truly professional manager within the customer service industry and her actions alone prove to me this was an isolated, though unfortunate, incident that might not be indicative of the branch as a whole. How managers handle situations like this say a lot about a business and Natalie handled the situation incredibly well.

Original post: Inconsistent. I have walked away with patches of hair on one occasion as the “wax specialist” went over the same spot too many times without success and still couldn’t get the hair up and this past time I was severely burned by the wax. You need to speak up and be proactive as a customer.

I love the Castro Valley EWC. The front staff are always very welcoming and knowledgeable. I have several waxers there (Emily, Dana & Stacey) and I trust in their work for making my was services as painless as possible.

Abby is a wonderful esthetician. She always makes customers feel comfortable, double checks the service you requested, and does a thorough job. I totally recommend Abby as well as EWC!
