European Wax Center, Riverside CA

One of the ladies gave me a Brazilian a few weeks ago and the wax was too hot. I have now been battling with extremely painful ingrown hairs and burns all over. Literally about 30 ingrowns in total and patches of rough skin from burns. Prior to this I never had an ingrown hair in my life. And I’ve been getting waxes for the last 6 months. The ingrown hairs just won’t go away. I called and told them my situation, they took down my contact information and told me someone would call me and see what they could do. Never received a follow up call and I am still in pain. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Doesn’t seem like they care.

Update: now 2 months later and still never heard anything from anyone. I would give negative stars if I could.

Another update (for 07/05/2022 and 07/06/2022) - underwent two waxes over these two days, one with Cora (full arms, full legs, and underarms) and one with Amanda (back, shoulders, chest, and abdomen). Both experiences were amazing! Their knowledge of skin and aesthetics is impressive - I have learned from each of them how to better manage my skin (and it's working)! I am so glad that they are my waxers! Keep on being awesome Cora and Amanda!

New update (06/07/2022) - I had my arms, hands/fingers, underarms, and legs/toes waxed by Cora - another fantastic job! I highly recommend her - she is extremely thorough and informative regarding skin care! Thanks Cora!

Update - had an amazing wax with Claudia yesterday - my arms and legs have never been smoother! She did a fantastic job! So professional and friendly! Also, today I had my back, chest, and abdomen waxed by Amanda and she did another fantastic job! EWC is awesome!

I'm writing this as I'm in the lobby, and all I can say is that EWC is amazing! Aglae is my esthetician for my full body wax and she is amazing - she waxed my arms and legs on Tuesday and they've never been smoother (ready for the new year). Mercedes is my esthetician for my cirefusion facial and she is fantastic as well! I've been seeing her for over a year and a half and my face has never been smoother / looked more hydrated! Both estheticians are amazing and the front desk staff is awesome, especially Alyssa and Flavian - they make one feel so welcome upon entering. I'm so glad to be coming to EWC Riverside for all my waxing and facial needs!

Liz was gentle and honest. She made my experience pleasant and doable (i was scared to return to waxing after 4 years of shaving). The cashier was kind and patient. The EWC never fails.

Prices are higher than most places, but professionalism is worth it. You pay for good service and a nice atmosphere.
I have had to go bad for an eyebrow correction. But it gets fixed, and it's fine.

Alexis was really sweet & professional, she made me feel super comfortable! She was the 2nd waxer i tried and i haven’t had no one since. She’s neat & very perfectionism, so sad she won’t be doing my wax for my birthday tho!

Olivia at EWC was not only super detail oriented during my waxing appointment. She is excellent with her customer experience approach and makes you feel comfortable. Highly recommend.

Got a brazilian and she didn’t finish the job and left a patch of hair there. Definitely not going back and why I hate european wax centers. Because they don’t care and you’re better off supporting a local business.

I've been getting waxed for over 6 years and I LOVED Cora! I think I've finally found a permanent girl.

They are the best I will not get waxed anywhere else. I love my lady she gets my legs smooth and makes sure in comfortable the whole time. Quick shaving and get waxed yall!

3rd visit update:

Today i went in for my usual Brazilian which is 63 tipped my lady 10 thats 73 but the total pending is $87.60 I called and asked where the extra charges came from and she said well we only show 73. Thats not what it shows on my bank statement. Who did the other $14.60 go to or where did it come from. Not to mention the last visit I had which I also left a review about as well. Which I also updated because I ended up giving them another shot and they were kind about the situation so I came back this 3rd time. I just don't know about this place anymore. If I could post the screenshot I would.

Update:
After being upset and looking at other places I decided I really liked the environment there so I tried again and called around 930 they gave me another appointment. When I got there Ms Joanna, I think that was her name, was very pleasant and helpful. She didn't make me feel unwelcomed, uncomfortable, or awkward that I was upset about my situation. I really appreciate the gratitude given to me and I'm and so glad I decided to give them another chance. Made my 3rd appointment today along with one for my mom because the environment and estheticians make it comfortable to keep going back.

Went for a Brazilian the first time about a month ago. I was scared but I felt comfortable with the lady I was with. Yesterday I got a call and said that my lady pulled out the day I was scheduled for my second Brazilian. They rescheduled me at 8: 30 the next morning. At 7: 30am they sent me a text saying my new appointment was canceled because that lady also called off. I drop my kids off to school by 8 and call them and was told there was nothing they can do for me if I couldn't get there in 15 minutes to meet with the only open person they had available. I found that absolutely ridiculous being that I live 27 minutes away. Unprofessional to me, maybe I would've felt better if I was accommodated but there was nothing they could do for me.

My first Brazilian wax! I felt comfortable 100% from start to finish. I was nervous at first but my technician talked me through the process. I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all even with being exposed to a sensitive area of my body. She was knowledgable to my questions and made me feel comfortable. I was done in no time with little pain and no pain after. It was new and different to me but I feel comfortable enough to go back for a second round! Also it was very clean and sanitized between each guest! I highly recommend! I most definitely recommend for clients sensitive to razor bumps and shaving in general I’m high sensitive areas.

My first time and I was impressed! Deanna was amazing! She made me feel super comfortable, even in full spread eagle! And, she made sure I was comfortable and knew what she was going to do next so u could prepare. I already made my 4 week appt!

This was my 1st visit to this place so I was a little nervous! I had no reason to be. Breanna was Amazing!

My girl liz at the riverside plaza was amazing. She was so sweet and so funny. I'm pregnant and due in a 1 week and she was patient.

When I arrived for my appointment I had waited 20 minutes from the time it was supposed to start because my waxer was running late. Not only did she have the wax unbearably hot but it also got onto my clothing. When checking out I was not offered any consolation for my waxer being late and therefore throwing off my schedule. After this I probably will not return to this location and will go to St Johns Bluff.
