Rude receptionist, dismissive and careless. They should really teach compassion to these individuals before they hire them. It’s clear a lot of these shelter employees don’t give a damn about families in need. People like NORA loves jobs with “authority” because it gives them an escape to ridicule and dismiss folks because she feels “entitled” too.

Nora is absolutely NOT at Evangel Homes to do any work for Christ. I called to do an intake and she became extremely accusatory, rude, and outright refused to provide me with the continuation of my intake, citing a rotation of "reasons" why I was not qualified. As far as I can see, Evangel Homes is to serve anyone in need of shelter and they appear to have multiple programs. Nasty Nora was moody and instead of remaining compassionate and professional, she decided to make her communication with me contemptuously personal for the benefit of her own desire to be 'the boss. ' She refused to grant my requests for a supervisor/ the director, first claiming that no one else was there then saying, today is a holiday. I inquired of her what holiday it was. Then she developed another sheisty excuse and said, I'm it. I'm the boss. I asked again for her name and she dismissed me with oh, you have a bad attitude and we can't help you. She also made a remark, oh, you didn't tell me you were not from Fresno, which should not have any bearing on the availability or willingness to assist me as a child of God in need of shelter and support. She hung up the phone on me. I called at least three times later and asked to speak with Sarah Dawson, the apparent director. Nora (still unidentified then) answered and immediately said oh I can't help you and hung up. The next time, she answered and immediately hung up. I called later today around 4 p.m. And she said, Evangel Homes, this is Nora. She recognized my voice, after letting the cat out of the bag and hung up. Jesus is watching! The cross has the final say. I guarantee it.

I just called to ask for help but the lady that answered was rude so I clicked right away.

Very rude and disrespectful indeed I was in the program with me and both of My Toddler Boys and the hotel they put us in was nice but very rude staff then the hotel raid that our time there was up and I called the Evangel Program and the women answering the phone was very very rude they said that they couldn't help me with anything not even a shelter me and My Boys have been thru my friends cause the program just kicked us out and that's very rude indeed we have been homeless for almost 4 months now the program is disrespectful and sucks Big Time 100%

Yes I'm just touching home basically I mean looking at all the opportunities that have set up for everyone that's great God is good and have a nice day and baby touching back in with you later probably visit the lot right now I'm trying to find out exactly where that bank is I haven't forgot it I lost my phone so it's me I hope I'm sending the right message the right person and I'll talk to you later

Woman answering phone is very rude because I was a man calling for my family. Not very professional

I just went to donate some clothes & the woman who answered the door was an older woman, short, and wore glasses. I felt like she was very rude. I was very happy to donate & right away she told me if next time to go to the alley instead. This was my first time donating & GPS led me to the front door. When I messaged them via fb, no one told me there was a particular entrance to leave donations. She didn't say thank you or talked to me in a nice tone. It made me feel pretty stupid. Maybe management needs to be specific of where donations should be dropped off or have someone else answer the door.

My stay here was a nightmare great place and all that but staff were awful. I felt like I was in prison. I WAS YELLED AT AND MADE TO CRY GOT KICKED OUT FOR A MIGRAINE AND THIS WAS CHRISTIAN BASED.

I was a resident in the Garden program was there for 9 months. I rate this program a 1 star because I seen a lot of wrongful things. One of the things was staff would always have first pick on all the things that was donated. I had a bad experience.

Cause they helped me grow on many areas in my life the garden program is awesome if u want to change your life
