We recently visited on the way to explore the city after checking into our air bnb and we were pleased with the product and service here.the barista was kind and helped us decide which latte to order and we went with their horchata latte with less sweetener added and it tasted great.it's a small space but it does seem like they have plenty of seating available and when we saw people coming inside they were tended and we're back out the door fairly quickly as well.i'd advise stopping by and grabbing a cup to go because it also didn't seem too expensive for the quality either.

My absolute favorite coffee store! Lovely staff, modern setup, and the BEST coffee. Bought a bag of beans to bring back to NYC with me

This is my favorite coffee shop in the Mission/Excelsior area. The staff is very nice and personable. There is seating next to the coffee bar if you'd like to do some work while you enjoy a cup of coffee. The drinks are competitively priced with the standard coffee shop selections and some of their own twist on things.

I’ve been hearing about this place for awhile since I bake a lot of ube goodies, and my friends told me to check out their selections. I’m not a coffee drinker, and I have bad reactions to caffeine so I couldn’t really buy any drinks from here.

First time I went there, the woman on the counter was helping somebody else so I ventured to the case but kept going back in line. It’s a small area so it was obvious where I stood line-wise. I was halfway between the case and the order line when it was my turn. With a smile on, I was ready to speak but the woman looked at me then looked at the guy behind me, and asked the guy for his order. The guy pointed out that it was my turn. The woman reluctantly took my order packing my few treats in limited pastry bags saying the bare minimum. I still tipped even though I didn’t think she deserved it. By the time I got home, the tarts were all crumpled because they were on top of each other. They still tasted good but the presentation ruined the experience.

The second time I went, I was going to the hospital to visit somebody so I brought two small Tupperware containers. They didn’t have the tarts but I enjoyed the ube brownies previously so I ordered some. I asked for two brownies, and a different lady from last time informed me each order comes with two. That wasn’t explained to me before, and I briefly wondered if I was overcharged in the previous visit. They had extremely limited ube treats so I ordered banana bread. The lady asked for my other container to use since they wouldn’t fit in one. I didn’t mind. However, she literally propped them in the container, and they obviously wouldn’t closed with how she put them. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to cause a scene. I paid first, tipped, and had to rearrange both containers so I could close them without smashing and ruining any of the treats I bought. By this time, the lady moved on to stocking the shelf without a backward look. I wondered if the employees there are unhappy.

The third time I went there, it was a guy on the counter. I ordered a bunch of treats again. I saw that he was about to put several treats in one bag. I asked if he could separate the tarts so they wouldn’t get smashed like before. I told him I was willing to pay for extra bags. He dropped one of the ube truffle balls on the counter and he put it in the same bag as the other. The same counter that people touch and put money or anything else that’s probably unsanitary. The guy didn’t charge me for extra bags but he also didn’t say anything else. He seemed unhappy that I asked my things to be bagged separately. I paid and still tipped although not as much as I normally would. I didn’t eat the truffle balls so they went to the trash when I got home. I didn’t know if the counter was clean and sanitary. In other bakeries I visited before, employees would throw any food that fell on the counter or outside the plate/tray. I should’ve said something but I really didn’t want to cause a scene. I wasn’t looking for friends but three different employees who never cracked a smile, and seemed unhappy to me are just not welcoming.

I do want some ube brownies and I still want to try the ube truffle balls but I’m not sure I want to go back to the place. I just didn’t feel welcome. I would recommend perhaps investing in small pastry boxes for people like me who buy a lot of pastries.

Got the Hojicha latte and a ham and cheese croissant here, both tasted very good! I came to do some work but sadly there is no Wi-Fi so I had to hotspot myself. Still a nice spot to be productive.

10/10 the staff is always nice and welcoming. I always get the matcha to start off my day. On certain days of the week the kitchen is open and each option on the menu is delicious! The banana bread is superior. You won't regret it!

I have had multiple bad experiences with this place. The first time I went the barista was extremely rude but they upped that by scamming me the next time. They straight up charged a different food item and tried to rush me to pay. Weird place

I really like this place. The pastries are always tasty and the hawaiian breakfast sandwich pop up they do is really good. For drinks I usually do the chai latte. Merch is really cool too, I own a zip up hoodie.

Edit: Mentioned the dog that sits on the counter during afternoons and was asking about it. Thank you guys for clearing that up appreciate you being accommodating towards your staff!

A neighborhood favorite for their Ube treats and barista crafted coffees & teas. I always come here with my excelsior friends and love the local artwork/vibe of this cafe.

My point of view, cashew milk tastes superior, prove me wrong lol

Has my favorite blend ever: African Presence (AP). Trust me! Drink it black and enjoy the light chocolate notes and sweet aftertaste.

Update 06/24/2023: Indoor seating is now available! A big table in the back and two stools near the front door. Still great coffee on Mission. The area these days is a bit different, but don't let that stop you from coming in.

Neighborhood gem indeed! Very cool little cafe with great coffee and food. There's lots of cool pictures on the walls and a motorbike at the back! There wasn't a lot of seating - a big table at the back and bar counter with 3 seats in front.

The Americano coffee was great - nutty and caramel in flavor. When we were there, there was a food pop up collab with Mahalo - we got the Mahalo Breakfast Musabi and the Breakfast Spamwich, both of which were great.

Love this locally owned, woman owned, AAPI owned spot. Coffee and pastries are great, the people are kind and care about their customers. Highly recommend.

This place has a great vibe, it is on the expensive side but it is worth trying. It was very interesting to see the decoration and merch found at the place. The service was fast since it wasn't busy. It has a big table in the back and 3 stools to sit at the front. The drinks and pastries are different and interesting. I tried the horchata late and it was flavorful and the banana bread had banana chunks that added texture to it. I saw the croissant and the ube pastries and they all look delicious too.
