Exeter Whistle Stop reviews
17We've been here four times and every time it's closed. Their sign says that they are open on the times we are here but every time we show up there is nobody here.
Absolutely adorable little train themed diner. Kid friendly, big portions, super friendly servers. We had 4 adults and 4 kids and were seated right away on a Sunday brunch coming back from Sequoia. Servers were great with the kids. Definitely would recommend and we will be back.
Fabulous! Great service, wonderful hostess, delicious food and excellent decor—especially if you’re a train enthusiast, like me. Our 4 breakfasts were delicious and real comfort food done just right. Our only disappointment was it wasn’t pie day (carrot cake) but we’ll be back—earlier in the day. Enjoy!
Great and plenty of food for breakfast. Large selection of plates. Best place for breakfast around. Owner Sherry makes you feel at home.
5.5 out of 5 stars! The setting - it was 88 degrees in Exeter, CA. The sky was clear, the mountains were beautiful…the family famished from visiting Sequoia National Park. We arrived at a small town diner adorned with train accoutrements. We entered to beaming smiles and welcoming words. Our kids were enamored by the floating trains. Our coffee cups runneth over, ne’r once needing to be flagged. The food was plentiful and delicious, and beyond expectation. They even had perfectly prepared cream of wheat, velvety and smooth. Definitely worth a stop! The place was great!
This place has the best food in Exeter California, and the staff is very friendly. If you want sweat potatoe fries or supper onion rings, then this the place.
You won't go away Hungry.

Made you feel at Home no color LInes Friendly environment recommend Family oriented Food is fresh. Great service
Never been here, was recommended and I'm saying now would HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Phenomenal service, Phenomenal food.the food was so good we ordered another of what I had to bring home. All items are reasonably priced and you get a lot! Definitely going back!
Will not eat there again. I believe she must of been the owner, she was very rude to one of her waitresses, with an attitude like hers she must go through alot of employees, when i comment to her that I felt she was rude to her waitress she said "well i didn't think so". Food was cold we had paid 17.50 for fish and chips the fish were the size of sausage, clam chowder so thick it was like eating paste not soup, maybe ate 3 small pieces of clams in that so called clam chowder. So over priced. Tea was good.
Excellent service and very delicious food.
The place is very nice, it has many trains I love them
Food is good. However, they don’t stick to the schedule they should be open. Seems like every other time they are closed. Like today. Came from visalia, checked their fb page cause she usually posts if they’ll be closed. They didn’t post anything and they are closed. Maybe call ahead of time too. Because this place is very inconsistent with when they’re open. They need to hire better workers or something seems like it’s always something with their workers that makes them close.
I loved going to this place, people were nice, loved the trains. Food did make me a little I'll. It may have just been a bad day, that happens. I will definitely try again.
A real American dinner in Exeter downtown great service, awesome food. On Fridays fish & chips is great!
