Express Donuts reviews
5Wow.these donuts were at least one day old.hard.cold n greasy.never going back here.she even said these are all fresh today.which clearly was a lie.smh
I don't like to give a place a negative review because I feel everyone is really trying, but I simply can't recommend this place. The top reviews have already said it best. The donuts are dried out, like they are left over the day before. And, big issue, no one wants a donut that is sitting in the hot sun. I ordered a couple dozen donuts, one fancy and one normal. The total was over $50. That is insane! Then, I love a good filled donut. So I got a custard filled and lemon filled for myself. The custard filled was crunchy and warm. I don't mean warm as in freshly made. I mean warm as it had been sitting in the sun so long the custard was over room temp and the donut was dried out. That was rather unpleasant an experience. While it was clear they use a shelf stable filling where a little heat won't hurt anything, it was still disconcerting. Then there was the lemon filled. That donut was hard like it was well over a day old. But strangely, it still gushed oil when I bit into it. The dough itself was incredibly sour like something of off. If I had to place the taste, I would say the oil they used was too old and not properly filtered. Then I tasted the filling. It, well, the flavor and scent was so off putting I had toss the thing. I bought the donuts for work to share and this is the first time I actually received complaints. These people will eat anything, especially when it is free, and they actually came to ask me where I got them so they would know not to shop there again. It's sad. This place has the perfect location. I also tried a simple sugared twist. I threw it away after a bite as it was drenched in oil, but complete dried out and hard.
Mom and pop donut shop. Stopped in here one morning to grab a couple donuts for the road. I was unsure which one I wanted so when I finally made a decision the lady behind the counter gave me the other one for free. Kind people and great service. Definitely check them out.
The owners are very nice. They never forget a customer and at 5'ish still fresh donuts
