Extended Stay America - San Jose - Milpitas - McCarthy Ranch

Absolutely impressed with this hotel! Everything looks new, and super clean it almost feels like your staying in a brand new hotel! I asked if it was newly bulit but it had a major remodel recently. Everything looks great! Rooms are decent size with a small kitchen, comfortable bed a large flat screen tv. AC was nice and cold, perfect for coming inside for those warm days. All this place is missing is a pool (the minus one star) but for the price, amenities, room and friendly staff it definitely makes up for it. If you need a good affordable place to say in the south bay, i highly recommend this place. Definitely will be back.

This is probably the best ESA to stay at anywhere in the area. It's quiet and the staff aren't a bunch of a**holes like the Mountain View and San Carlos locations. It's a 20 or so minute drive to the major tech companies in Mountain View without traffic and lots of Asian restaurants to choose from nearby.
Make sure to check your change if you visit the Chevron next to there if you pay in cash because the guy likes to short you several dollars. He did that to myself and my husband several times so I know it wasn't a mistake.

Stayed here for a week, was close to my office, 99Ranch market, Walmart, Sarvana Bhawan, Annapoorna veg restaurant. Can even catch a 44 bus and be to Great mall.

Stay wise, room has utilities (induction, microwave) for cooking, fridge and a sink, which is good for long term stays. They do provide some utensils which can be returned back. And they have a common washing/drying area.

House keeping would visit once in two weeks, so pretty much one must manage their garbage/rubbish. However, their receptionists are considerate and helpful.

'queen' thats the size of a full and room that smells like dirty ash tray.what's not to like. Also the mattresses sit on what appears to be a trampoline.

Stayed here between 6/2 to 6/10. We were given a room on the 2nd floor near a staircase landing. The moment we entered we noticed a musty smell which we tried to solve by opening the door for the whole evening and running the vent fan. However all our efforts were in vain because near midnight, a woman started smoking at the staircase despite the very prominent sign saying no smoking within 100ft of entrances. Called the front desk and they took 30 min to walk a 5 min distance (granted whoever was there said she was the only one). However over the next week the same woman smoked almost every evening either on the staircase or on the benches nearby. At first I thought she was a guest but later I realised she may be one of the cleaning staff as she wore sterile gloves. My sister is prone to sinusitis and we’re both very sensitive to air pollutants (dust, smoke etc). Was there really no other place she could smoke? Apart from cigarette smoke wafting in at night, the room also smelled weird at different times (first burning metal, then weed, etc). My sister and I think it was either the bathroom vent fan or that a previous guest had smoked in the room and they forgot to clean one wall near the kitchenette. Apart from the daily buffet of smells, the cookware we were given was also of subpar quality. The pots and pans were mostly alright but the spatula and ladle were peeling. I felt like I was actively giving myself a carcinogenic dose whenever I cooked (and this was after pulling out all the chipped parts and scrubbing the utensils many times). Lastly, the bathtub was clogged and it took two days for them to fix it. Out of empathy for the reception staff who seem quite overworked, I’m adding 1 star to what would be a 1-star review. One of the cleaning staff (Dominic) was also very helpful in giving my parents (who stayed in another room) trash bags when they needed it.

This hotel is incredible value for money compared to what else you can get in the area. The units come with a small kitchen with two electric burners, a fridge, and a microwave. You can request other appliances as well when you check-in, such as a toaster and a coffee maker.

It's very close to an Asian super market if you need to buy food and about a 15 - 20 min walk to a Walmart if you can't find what you need.

The rooms aren't very sound proof and you can hear people outside and in adjacent units if they are being loud. However, over the 2 month period I stayed here I never had an experience where it was an issue after 10 pm.

The front desk service was also generally accommodating.

My FAVORITE hotel to stay at in the whole Bay Area. Convenient location, right off interstate, close to DTSJ, and In the middle of SFO, SJC, OAK Airports. Quiet environment, clean rooms, laundry, and even dishes EVERY SINGLE TIME I come.
Front desk has THE BEST HOTEL STAFF I’ve met. They all are kind, respectful, helpful, and lovely to interact with. Special thanks to Rohit at the front for being such a great help and for always making sure my stay is GREAT!

Decent price for a decent room and the staff is outstanding! On my stay there they put me in a room with a bed too low, I went to the front desk to see if I could get another room and Jennifer the manager replaced the bed in my room before I could make it from the front desk back to the room. Where do you ever get that kinda service at a hotel?

I stayed in this place for a week and its a decent place to stay! Previously I had a very bad experience at Airbnb in santa clara and had to book a room immediately here. It's a SAFE place to stay. Great neighborhood.
I was planning to stay for few more weeks as my internship was for 3 months. Since the internship was virtual I planned to go home. They have everything for a person to live comfortably. Specially, if you are person who would prefer cooking (cooking stove, utensils, full size fridge, microwave, laundry (paid) etc) I'm not sure if other good hotels would have an option of cooking.

Rohit and Blanca were both very helpful and polite make us feel very welcome and went beyond and above when checking us in. The room was clean and fresh the front desk was very polite. Great place to stay

The staff here is amazing! They are very nice, welcoming and helpful. The only thing that’s not great is the WiFi. It could definitely be better.

This is a pretty clean place here the people are very friendly and helpful … Jennifer the manager is also very helpful and friendly she gave me an upgrade cause my son is with me this is in a great location being only minutes away from a lot of stores. I would definitely recommend this hotel fair price at high quality cleanliness.thank u so much for it hospitality during my stay here

I stay at Extended Stay America and out of all locations I've been at from Sacramento to Colorado, I enjoy the Milpitas location the most, especially because they have deluxe rooms with newer interior design. I appreciate the staff because my room is cleaned swiftly, but thoroughly, and they make sure to accommodate my work schedule. No roaches either.
