Eye Care of San Diego: Mission Hills reviews
11I witnessed the mistreatment of a woman here that was baffling. She had been waiting for over 2 hours, and when she approached the front desk to ask when she would be seen, the receptionist spoke to her in a very condescending manner. Later, after she finally saw the doctor, she left in tears because of the negative experience she had. Whoever is running this place should take a second look at how scheduling is being managed and how staff is reacting to overbooking. I will not be coming back.
Dr. Bokosky received a referral for my son's cross-linking operation. Exactly what would happen both during and after the procedure was described to us. All went really smoothly. The length of time it took to schedule the operation is my sole issue. For almost a month, I contacted and left voicemails with the coordinator in charge. My youngster underwent evaluation in March, and the process continued until June. Apart from that, Dr. Bokosky is a fantastic choice because of his professionalism and wealth of knowledge.
Incredibly rude customer service experience, appointment was cancelled without my knowledge due to staff thinking I had no insurance, corrected their mistake but still cancelled appointment, no available appointments for weeks even though I made this appointment months ago. Really bad service experience because of how highly rated Sharp providers are, dont think I’ll try another appointment here.
Something is not going smoothly in regards to their scheduling. I showed up for an appointment a few months ago and they said I did not have an appointment, but I always write down my many dr appts upon leaving and once scheduling it with reception, so I was very confused how there was no appointment scheduled. Fast forward to today's appointment, I even called before driving over just in case, and Barbara said yes at 11am, I showed up and they treated me like I was crazy and said no it's not today. Why would I have made note of two appointments on my calendar and phone, taken time off work, gotten labs drawn, if I was not told I had appointments and why did the receptionist confirm it this morning prior to me driving over? There needs to be a better system of notifying patients of appointments and confirming them because it is such a waste of time to show up and be told twice now my appointment is not real.
OUTSTANDING! Dr. Bokosky Saved my Life/ Eyesight. I came to him after being butchered by another local Dr.for cataract Procedure. DR. Bokosky had a big mess to sort out but this man performed a Miracle and gave me me eye sight backI still have one eye to due and there is no shopping around for mr. Dr. Bokosky is the only one that I trust with my eye or any part of me. Don't take chances with your eyes! Stick with Dr. Bokosky.
Took a patient with macular degeneration here for a six month visit. Appointment time was 955am & upon checking in, had to wait in line for 10 minutes just to check in. The patient was asked for their co-pay immediately & the patient didn't have to pay up front the last time (they are on straight Medicare, not an HMO Advantage plan), which would be free with Scripps, Sharp, or UCSD if on a Medicare Advantage plan. (No co-pays for specialists 2023). Was kept waiting almost an hour before being seen. After being seen, had to wait (again) in reception area for another 30 minutes. Finished appointment & left @ 1200 noon (almost 2 hrs from initial appt time). Other patients experienced the same waiting issue as well. One patient said it is always like this. In addition, there is no parking, $2 lot next door or metered street parking. The receptionist knew nothing about the parking. Not sure about the doctors but this office is overbooked for a 4 Dr office. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
The staff are unprofessional. Doctors study and get their degree to help people but they refuse to help me to see a doctor, so I don’t know why they’re open.
Great care and attention. My only complaint is the wait time - seems like they are always running late. I’ve had to wait between 15-45 min before being called into my appointment.
Long time patient here, of 20 years. I’ve always received outstanding care here, and will continue to look to Eye Care of San Diego, Mission Hills for my vision needs.
Wait 30 mins+ for appointment if your on time or early. Often call appointments that came in and are scheduled for after your appointment. Always packed and organization skills are sub par.
Terrible customer service. My Mother has surgery scheduled the day after the holidays but no one called to schedule the time for the appt. Had to wait all weekend and still waiting the day of to find out when to take her in today. Left several messages with answering service. No luck.
