Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott San Francisco Airport/Millbrae reviews
14 Edit: So this review just popped up in my history and for giggles I decided to look through other reviews again. It’s amazing to me that anyone would stay here. One of the replies from management called their facility the best value in the sfo area. Haha. Cheap is what that means. Is Michelle khan still the manager here. This single experience, and the lies that were told about my interaction here, still makes me roll my eyes. If you are a business traveler, avoid at all costs.
Ok.since Michelle Khan wont call me (she is the GM at this hotel supposedly) lets see if the owner or anyone wants to reply here. Back in March I couldn’t make it to your hotel due to weather in Denver and a flight cancellation. When I called the front desk, the man I spoke with, who at the time was very nice, said he understood and that there would be no problem in cancelling the reservation and waiving the charge.
A few days later I see that I still have a reservation. When I call in I am told by another front desk person (woman this time) that she is aware of my situation and the man I spoke with in the morning said that I told him since I was a Titanium member, they HAD to waive the fee. This is completely untrue and I am hopeful that their lines are recorded so they can actually pull the tapes and listen to the conversation. Anyway, this woman told me that since I cancelled so late, I would be charged one night stay but that I could send an email to Michelle Khan and see if she would be willing to waive the fee. I asked if I could speak with her then and I could not because Michelle was busy.
If you look at reviews on other sites, Yelp, travelocity, you will see similar situations. I went through customer service through Bonvoy to get help and spoke with a super friendly woman about a month ago if not more and she said it would all be resolved. But as I review my credit card statement just now, I see that they indeed dinged me for $160. No invoice, no stay showing on their website where you find “past stays”, nothing.
After reading many other complaints about this property and specifically Michelle Khan, I have not desire to speak with her. I am just gonna let the folks at Bonvoy try to figure this out and then I’ll contest the credit card. It’s amazing that in all the years of staying at Marriott properties, the Marriott name would allow someone like this to represent them. I am guessing this is a privately managed hotel and it will be sold off to someone like Best Western shortly. Horrible.
Shuttle runs infrequently at night and completely stops at 9 am! Meanwhile an Aloft bus came by 4 times while we waited in the rain. They're excuse is that this airport hotel is too far from the airport
Their online chat was not answered in the 4 hours between texting, texting again and while in flight
Only one elevator works.
The hot tub is closed, apparently still because of Covid.
Don’t stay here! Not safe and poor management. Our car was broken into while parked in their parking garage which wasn’t free (they had a parking fee). They figured that just because they had signs posted that their not liable for any stolen items, it’ll be fine. I would’ve parked outside as I felt that was a safer option since our car is exposed in the street versus ‘hidden’ in their garage with no security cameras or a gate. Anyone could drive inside and break into any car and drive off. We were t even warned by the management that this is a regular occurrence lately. Not to mention they had no housekeeping services and limited employees that we had to request for some items that were running low in our room. Breakfast was mediocre too that we opted to skip their free breakfast as most guests weren’t wearing masks while eating around the buffet breakfast room. It’s really sad as the other Marriott property we stayed at in the city (The W Hotel) was fantastic. We just moved to Millbrae to be closer to family for a bereavement memorial.
Helpful and friendly place.only thing I would have liked is a confirmation sent to me. I did save my confirmation number but forgot to indicate the marriott resort I was booked at.hard to remember as I booked early.
They offer shuttle BUT you have to pay a per person fee AND it stops at 2 other hotels. Rooms need a face lift. Bed was comfortable. Near many asian resturants.
I was assigned to a handicap room which I didn't request for and it's back to a taco bell drive thru, I would not have gotten any rest with all the noise, hotel does not provide shuttle service from the airport and the room are not updated. I was very disappointed as a platinum member of Marriott. I would not recommend or book to stay there in the future.
Incredible what they have done with service. A Marriott policy affecting many hotels you pay full price and they don't provide full service. Lousy.
**WARNING** This hotel does not have a full time airport shuttle. The front desk staff is rude and unprofessional. However, the hotel is clean and quiet. The bed is comfortable. The area is full of restaurants.
I honestly don't know how this hotel get 4 stars. The best thing about this establishment is the parking deal. The room had peeling wallpaper, scuffs on the walls and the doors make a lot of noise. To be fair. I give it 1 1/2 stars.
The entire place has an underlying smell of urine and the elevator reeks of stale cigarettes. Coffee pot was broken and wifi “went out for the whole hotel”, which was needed for an important work presentation. Breakfast was mediocre- bread was very good, eggs were disgusting powdered running nastiness.
We chose this hotel due to its location to a friend we were in town visiting. The people were efficient and personable. The rooms were nice and clean. < I know it's a small issue, but, if you have any garbage to toss, bring your own liners as none are provided. >
Great staff, clean rooms and felt safe. Try to request a 4th floor room as we got a 3rd floor room and the room upstairs was doing all sorts of stomping as early as 5 am and as late as 2 am
An OK business hotel that has limitations. I stay almost exclusively at Marriott's so I'm comparing this hotel to other Marriotts. My first impression was that my reception was efficient but disinterested. Not welcoming. The room I found to be in so-so condition (yes it was clean), but it was oddly dark. The parking around the hotel for check-in is not well laid out. Charging $15 to park in Millbrea seemed excessive. On the plus side, downtown Millbrae is a nice little urban downtown. There are plenty of food and shopping options around the hotel. I would not stay here for a family vacation. On this particular trip I was looking for the cheapest Bay Area Marriott and this Fairfield won. I would not rush back here but I would be willing to return. UPDATED REVIEW.
