Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Bakersfield Central

Just when I thought exceptional customer service was a thing of the past, along come Estela at the front desk, and Sam at security! These two just made our trip so happy! We came in late, and a bit road weary. They exceeded our expectations throughout the check-in process and more! They were so gracious in accommodating a couple special needs we have. The room is super clean and comfortable. Thank you! We’ll for sure be back:)

First racist experience ever.
I take a few steps in towards the elevator since ive been to this hotel before just going to my sisters room since we got different hotels. Never saw this guy before though. The guy behind the counter ignores everyone else in the lobby and just starts grilling me why im there. Im just a few steps in the door and he starts with where am i going, I say the elevator. Demands to know what room, I say the room, Hes just messes with his computer and says im lost and I dont belong there, I ask is this not fairfield, he says no. I go out and check the map it is the right hotel and theres no other hotel on this block. He looked super nervous and like he was going for something under the desk so I wasnt going to risk it.

Could be one of the best Fairfield inns I’ve been to if it wasn’t for the very very loud AC unit. Couldn’t sleep well.

Let me tell you about the positive: Super friendly and courteous front desk; he made me feel welcome back. Hotel is clean

When I arrived I noticed that the parking lot was empty, now I know why after spending the night there. After going to work and coming back to the hotel the security guard was watching me as if I was going to steal the parking lot the proceeds to check my car (so if I was guess just arriving you should at least wait until I get checked in) and the watched me all the way until I pulled out my room card to open the door, get inside and here comes a lady rushing towards me asking if I needed any help. I go to my room. Get up this morning and to get some breakfast and what a joke, no kind of meat, water down oatmeal, egg and a few pieces of bread and on top of that you have to ask for the butter because and I quote “the manager told me to keep it lock up” I have stayed at many places and have never felt so un welcome needless to say I checked out, had my room booked until Friday. No thank you.

The very loud window air conditioner is a show stopper for me. I will never stay in this hotel again.

Man, came in from out of town and Paola who was working the front desk was very accommodating. She made sure we were quickly in our rooms and had what we needed so we could be quickly on our way to our event. I have always loved saying at the Marriot family no matter the city! Thanks again guys for making my business trips so efficient and enjoyable

The location is good, the rooms are clean and modern. The included breakfast, while not very varied, is acceptable. I would give 4 star due to the high prices for the laundry service. The washing machine cost $3.50, the dryer was also $3.50, and a single-use detergent was $3. Not knowing whether these prices are low or high for laundry services, they seemed a bit expensive to us. Additionally, they didn't have quarters for the laundry, so we had to ask for them at local shops nearby.
Another downside is that the air conditioner in the rooms is very noisy and has a strange odor. The rooms are not very soundproof.

Hate to say it but it was on the lower end of Fairfield inn experiences I’ve had. We stay at these often as Bonvoy members. The room was not clean. If we were staying for longer than just the night we would have requested to switch although I worried it would have been the same level of cleanliness anyway. The carpets turned our feet black after only being in them a few minutes. The bathroom didn’t look maintained (chipped paint and rusted tub). The AC was terribly loud.
The service staff were friendly and the lobby looked great. The breakfast was nothing to write home about. Parking was convenient.
We were meant to stay here again on our way back this way but have canceled and made other plans.

Horrible experience, the A/C in the room was loud and unbearable to sleep through. Small rooms but the worst thing is the front desk service! Ask for a manager and they try every excuse in the book to not give you there information. First time staying there and definitely the last.

- Friendly Staff.
- Noisy room due to freeway, recommend ear plugs.
- Towels need to be replaced (scratchy).
- AC works great.
- Clean Room.
- One of the two elevators were broken the one that was working felt like the tower of terror ride.
- The gym is nice. However, the dumbell set is incomplete.
- Free breakfast, however, not food alergy friendly.

Room was very clean and nice, and service was great - but A/C had horrible loud beeping sound.

The room was clean and a good size. I needed to use the printing and scanning services which I found very convenient. We were served at the front desk by Paola twice, both times she was extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. Will stay at a Marriot again!

My friend forgot his phone. They were in contact with the hotel for several days, they sent the hotel a FedEx box ready to go. Still no phone. He called again to find out where the phone was.
The manager, Hilda, informed him that some one had come in and picked up the phone, and the hotel no longer had it. The hotel did not request any ID, and couldn’t tell them who it was.
And, of course, no one called to confirm it was okay to give the phone away.
This, despite the multiple phone calls, FedEx boxes, etc.
No one accepts responsibility.
I will never stay here. They do not care about or for their customers.

Simple and efficient transient hotel. It does the job very well for one night. A little noisy with the highway next door but we were not disturbed at night. Good restaurants around. Practical and rather economical for large rooms.

I've been to this hotel twice. Within 2 months of being here I was diagnosed with Cancer. My head was burning the entire time I was here. I didn't realize that this hotel has about 10 cell phone towers on it. I couldn't sleep at all while I was here and was in constant pain. Once my doctor helped me figure out that this place was subsidized with cell phone towers to cover their bills I called my lawyer. I will be filing a lawsuit against this hotel for $10,000,000 for illegally placing cell phone towers within a range not supported by the FCC. Luckily I caught it quickly and have removed it. Stay away from this hotel at all costs. This hotel will be lucky to be open in 2024 after the lawsuit is over. My lawyer is recruiting other guests for a class action lawsuit. It's a shame the owner of this business thought they could make a good buck with these death towers but now they will pay the ultimate price.
