Asy to access and the lake is not too big and is great to kayaking. If you try to bring your own kayak like my, you may need to check for Tahoe boat inspection. It’s cheap and you may need to reserve as early as possible to every season starting in May.

Some of my best memories are at this campground including the time my Grampie came from Newport, Rhode Island to visit me and we petted a mountain Lion on the way to the lake where the Bodyguard -with Whitney H & Kevin Costner was filmed! Never a bad experience always clean, good fishing, and majestic waterfalls! Sounds like heaven on earth to me and a warm place to sleep and roast marshmallows. Definite bears zone tho one walked right through and took a watermelon off a table down the way from our spot once. Bear boxes are close and showers are clean but nothing beats a nice swim!

Cozy campground close to Lake Tahoe. Has decent showers and bathrooms. Also has friendly bears so keep your snacks away at night.

We didn’t stay at the campground itself. We only went for the day. But we did drive through to the parking area and that was easy to manage and find and the roadways are well kept. We also used one of the bathrooms and they were super clean. If we were camping we would definitely love to try this place out. The lake is easy to access and there is plenty of space for the family to spread out and play. The campsite areas look spacious as well and everybody we saw looked to be enjoying life there

You can't swim here. Too shallow and pebbly. Tons of boulders, large metal pipes, wooden planks, and tree stumps in the water. Great for if you wanna dip your feet. We had to cautiously kayak. Parking is $10 and lot is small. Might as well go to lake tahoe instead. ‍️ not too crowded though and beautiful view.

Stayed here only one night before a backpacking trip and arrived after dark. The campground is huge, lots of sites, we (2 adults plus dog) stayed in 171 for tent camping. The bathrooms are simple and very clean. The signs are easy to navigate. Lots of trees and I think even though there were a lot of people it's designed to give each party a lot of space. It was super quiet at night time for sleeping. I would come back! Didn't get a chance to hike to the lake this time around.

Good location. The lake is beautiful, very rocky shoreline so water shoes are strongly suggested. Campsites are a decent size and the employees are friendly. Showers require Tokens from the store are the front so purchase on the way in, must have cash to purchase. Tokens don't always work so take really quick showers. Lots of bears in the vicinity so pay close attention, all food and toiletry items in bear box.

This is one of the most serene, beautiful campgrounds near Lake Tahoe, giving you access to the Fallen Leaf lake. The campsites, nestled under the Pine trees are big and give you plenty of privacy to enjoy the seclusion and the scenery. The lake is beautiful, giving you amazing views of the mountains and, fortunately not that crowded. I was there during the July 4th weekend and compared to the crowded shores of Lake Tahoe, the crowd here was pretty scant. Part of the reason is the limited public parking. The lake is good for swimming, paddle boarding or just chilling and soaking in the view. Most recommended, if you are looking for a serene, less crowded lake, close to civilization! Will definitely visit again.

Great campground with big spots. Bathroom was okay, not too dirty like mentioned in other reviews. I arrived late and was worried that the gate would be closed but it wasn’t. It was open. We stayed at 158 and it was shady. It was 10 minutes walking to the fallen leaf campground. Beautiful lake! Make sure to bring your big floaties:)

Nice location and close by hiking trails. Showers cost 1$ for 3 mins. Too much. Not even hot- more like warm…
One old lady at the counter was super rude, she wasn’t motivated at all, barely knew anything.
Unfortunately no dumping even we would pay for.

Quick little solo trip ended here at Fallen Leaf Campground. Nice little area to wind down for the day. Friendly attendant at the shack to get checked in. Overall great experience. Will be returning for future trips.

We had a wonderful stay at fallen leaf campground. We stayed here for the first time this summer. The sites are larger than most, you are not right up against your neighbor, which was a pleasant surprise. The bathrooms are clean with flush toilets and there are showers that get hot. You can buy tokens for showers $1.00 for 3 minutes. The showers are clean too. I get grossed out really easily by shared bathrooms and these were a very pleasant surprise, especially because i needed to get my 2 and 4 year old in there after being in the sand and lake all day. It's only a 5 minute drive to Lake Tahoe beaches but don't waste your time, go to fallen leaf lake! It's gorgeous, clean and right there! We were on the far side of the campground from the lake and it was only a10 minute walk with all our gear and the kids in the wagon. Just bring something to suit on because the beach isn't sand it's all small rocks and wood. Not uncomfortable but you definitely want to double up your towel. There's a small store on site that sells firewood and ice and toiletries, ice cream, souvenirs etc. And all the campground hosts were super friendly and helpful. Great size bear lockers are on each site too. We didn't see any bears but they are very prevalent in the area so be ready to use the locker for everything scented! A really great place to stay, we are definitely coming back!

Fallen Leaf Lake has a tiny little general store right by check-in booth but never made it inside with so many other things to do. Nice to know though. Apparently wood bundles are $9 each though, not bad. There are over 200 sites here, but quite spread out and relatively quiet given the attendance - we were all very pleasantly surprised!

Also most camp sites is a hike from the water so be prepared to drop off your stuff at the Lake and take your car back. Best drop-off point we found was between sites #74 & #75 to carry stuff up and over that hill, but be advised that it is UP & OVER.it was longer than I thought trying to carry two paddleboard backpacks and a bag of snacks. Multiple trips would've been smarter if I had the manpower to have someone stay at both ends with the stuff.

Fallen Leaf Lake was GORGEOUS and we chose it because it's nice to not have the crowds that Lake Tahoe has. We tried to paddleboard across the lake, but (1) that's a looong way actually, and (2) the wond picked up slightly making it choppy/harder to paddleboard.

The campground itself was maintained nicely.not sure if there were spots for full hook-ups. The roads seemed pretty well maintained and most of the spots seemed to be pretty level. There is NO dump station on hand. Checking in for camping wasn't too difficult.drive in and you see your name and site # (if after hours) and then the next morning go get a car pass. A 2nd car cost $21 for 3 nights, so likely my hubs paid $7/night (but not worth my effort to ask him ha).

BE AWARE ️it's BEAR COUNTRY, and mismanagaing your food storage and clean up is considering baiting a bear which comes with a huge fine.think it was $5000 but details are in the on-site signage (believe I took a pic of it for others to see).

Closest dump station is at Camp Richardson (just east of Fallen Leaf Lake), but is like a little town.hotel, restaurant with view of the Lake, general store with a deli, campground, bike rental, ice cream parlor, coffee, etc.and there is a dump station on hand and $12 for non-registered CR guests. HINT: If you're looking to JUST use the dump station, you have to go to the Hotel to pay the $12 there, not the general store.the store ppl will look at you like you're crazy for asking where to pay and be honest about using the dump

Horrible customer service hung up on me before they would answer any of my questions. Lived in south lake for the last 13 years, would not recommend.

A nice campground in Southern Tahoe. I stayed one night at site 95 and enjoyed my stay. Plenty of space around us and the other camp spots. The spot was a little far from trashcans and bathrooms but that could also be a plus.

The staff were very friendly the campground has a small store on site (open in June not sure about other times of the year).
