Felix Continental Cafe

This restaurant is a unique experience for sure. A nice change from the other Cuban restaurants in the area because they also offer Spanish dishes. Seafood is cooked nicely. Objectively, well prepared food. My only problem is that I didn't love and revel in eating the food - possibly personal preference, but I would recommend trying for yourself and I can see what draws people to this restaurant and appreciate what it brings to the area.

Soft fresh bread with every meal, juicy delicious roasted pork, large portions. What’s not to like? ! Service was fast. I really enjoyed this place!

EDIT: Not sure what changed, but at least both the chef and the ingredients. What I described a year ago (below) has NOTHING to do with what they serve now. This was a soggy, sad, flavorless cubano. No roasted taste, barely any pork and the ham was a thin boarhead-like slice; just overall very disappointing given how amazing it used to be. I hope they come back around, but it’s no longer worth the trip. ——————

That Cuban sandwich was SPECTACULAR. I’ve never tasted anything like it. The roasted pork is otherworldly in flavor, with a light peppery /cumin (?) tasty crust. Generous portion, delicious home special salad dressing. Must have!

Here’s the thing. You know why I don’t recommend this place! Because their lack of hospitality. Today I was sitting outside and I guy came out and said “ this seating it’s for the restaurant, THERE IS A SIGN “ he took the menu and left, what a way to make a business loose customers. But I least we have Gabbie’s Mexican kitchen a few steps away to save the day:)

The food was great and the fillet minion was cooked perfectly to a medium, The bread is soft and amazing Their ice coffee is far superior to anything you can get at Starbucks

Grabbed lunch with friends here on Saturday. It was a good place to enjoy a meal. Very generous helpings of classic Cuban dishes at a reasonable price. All the staff is friendly and the food I great. Come with and appetite.

Traditional Cuban food. Very good. Only negative is parking. It's in old town Orange historic district so the walk is enjoyable.

This was a great place to eat and although the service was good the food left a lot to be desired
note that I had eaten there before but now the food had no taste I don't know what happen but its a shame.

29 Caribbean Delight (light and tasty) 37 Roasted Pork (salty and delicious). Sangria permitted outside ($9). Caribbean specials include salad/soup and a dessert (available to go) Portions were incredibly large. Brilliant service.

My Cuban mother passed away. Her cooking was Amazing: Felix is the ONLY place 2 match her. Alejandro is the finest server in North America.

I came here mid-week around noon. Finding parking is challenging. They don't have their own parking lot.
It has a small dining area. Service was ok, not the best. They took our order straight away. The food was served quickly. The portions are fair. I had the Ropa Vieja: I've had better. The meat was not seasoned enough, it had a little bit of onions and olive, the rice was good, the black beans were ok, and the plantains were ok.
We also had a fish dish: the fish was not good, and I didn't like the texture. The yellow rice was hard, and the side was strange.we didn't eat it.
It's expensive, and probably not worth while.

Air-Conditioned comfort while you eat, large portions with many of the entrees including soup AND dessert. Prices are great compared with many other places in the area. Pork was seasoned just right, not too salty. Creamed spinach is odd though, but OK. Service was great with many employees working on a Friday night. Downtown type parking, so you may need to walk a bit to get there.

Where can you go wrong!? This place has been consistent with beautiful food in my experience 20 years. But they've been around longer this place always aims to please with friendly servers just nicely and cleanly with smiles and beautiful food offered! I love the lunch specials and the Pollo supreme is beautiful as well as the oxtail, filet mignon, and always try and empanada at every place you go to if they have them! But this place will be the best by far! Handmade love, family-owned, let's continue to give this beautiful business. Our pallets and love! It is in downtown Orange which parking can be kind of a pain, but it's always cool to Uber into downtown Orange and just park a mile away or so

Such a special place to enjoy such authentic dishes made with love. I am proudly Cuban and Spanish and "sabroso" (delicious) describes the generous portions. Our family looks forward to each visit and beyond filled with joy to partake with another generation, our magical son. Highly recommend!:)

Unassuming little spot located right off the circle. Came here for lunch with some friends, and we came a little early to beat the lunch rush, so service was speedy.

We were greeted promptly and allowed to choose our table. The staff was attentive and friendly the entire way through. Menu options were bountiful, and it was hard to choose. They do have a quite affordable lunch menu, but alas my cravings opted for a dinner plate instead. Haha.

I got the bacon wrapped filet mignon. While not a filet you expect from a steakhouse, it was prepped differently and cut thinner. The rice was delicious, very well seasoned. The winner was the creamed spinach for me. I didn't think I'd like it, but it's bomb!

My sisters and I are Cuban born and drove from San Diego to have a late lunch at Felix’s and to say it was a total disappointment is an understatement. It’s probably the WORST Cuban food we’ve ever had in our lives. This is an embarrassment of a place to call themselves a Cuban restaurant. Where do I begin: The tamales were horrible without any taste or even a drizzle of mojo juice and onions or pieces of the “masitas” de puerco, the tostones greasy and without a drop of salt, the “yuca frita” was a joke it was like frozen yuca and again tasteless, the congrís was lump rice and plus tasteless and it looked like old rice from day before, the chicken asado that my sisters had was dry and hard like a rock, my bistec empanizado was tasteless and also tough to cut. There was not one item that we order that you could even call average. The papas rellenas were horrible. Like I said that this is by far the worst Cuban food we’ve ever had and quite possibly of any restaurant anywhere. The service was not even good the waiter had a terrible attitude. The bathrooms are filthy and on our way to the bathroom you can see the kitchen and it was filthy and pretty scary to look at. I wouldn’t recommend this place that dares calls itself a Cuban restaurant let alone a restaurant to anyone even the dead. Whoever thinks this is a good Cuban restaurant must not know Cuban food. In short this place is PURE GARBAGE! I wouldn’t take my dogs there to eat. Good luck to anyone that eats in this place I hope you bring lots of Tums or Pepto Bismol! Avoid eating at this place it’s HORRIBLE!

Amazing Cuban food. I've eaten here 10 times and every time I've been stasified and happy with the service. Great service staff. Friendly, professional, personable.

Amazing restaurant, food beyond delicious and large portions. Felix is the place for authentic and affordable Cuba restaurant.

Our waiter was courteous and friendly. He explained the menu offering for people in party who never had cuban grub. We decided on chicken /seafood dishes plus extra plates for sharing.

Warm bread with drinks came out right away. In Cuba, rice and bean are always serve as a comfort side dish. Plus sweet plantains bananas. Expect lots of carbs.

Arroz con Pollo. Great moist chicken. The yellow rice is season well with paprika and salt. Seafood, shrimp and calamari, wow. Food was well season with garlic, Saffron, cumin, bay leaf salt and pepper.

Be sure to get dessert. Flan and Tres Lethe cake best way to end meal.

We dine in. Only complaint was the smell of cigars/cigs that would waft in the restaurant.

The food was good. My son and I both ordered carne con papas and it was delicious. It was different from other Cuban spots presentation wise not flavor. It was a bit more difficult to eat all components as not all items were on the plate. My friend had the filet mignon and she really enjoyed it along with the plantains. Overall would return and try something different.

All this time I haven't given a review about this place
First off you can't go wrong about this place it's located in old downtown orange which it's very nice to walk around reminds me off the olden days you will find some antique stores I heard that this place is been here for so long probably morethan 30yrs so that tells you that the foods is good the waiters are nice very helpful most of the time you will be waiting for a table but I'm telling you it's worth it and plus another good thing is the serving is big.
