Fentons Creamery reviews
16 I took my family out for a special banana split treat and was a forgotten. 45 minutes to be seated and another 30 till flagged someone down to take my order. I watched several people eat, pay, and leave before I was served a banana split and berry Sunday.
Add to it no parking and steep price for not so fancy ice cream. I won't be back this year.
Ate lunch here w a group. They have their own parking lot and street parking. Crab salad sandwich and crab sandwich melt were both tasty. Food was a little pricey so not sure I would come here to eat the food again, but the ice cream was great! They have all kinds of ice cream offerings (floats, sundaes, banana boat, etc.). The 6 scoop ice cream flight was just right for our group. We enjoyed the dutch/dark chocolate, mocha almond fudge, coffee cookie dream. Green tea didn't taste much like anything.
Come here on weekday to enjoy a nice lunch in this warm and friendly restaurant on piedmont avenue in oakland. The food is quite good, portions are generous, prices are reasonable and service is excellent. I recommend this restaurant.
Oh and they make excellent ice cream. A little pricey but very good. Seasonal flavors are fantastic
Update: I think they changed their onion rings, they're now extremely average.
The onion rings are really good
Amazing ice cream
I would recommend for sure if in the city at all try to get some because it's worth it
Busy, probably.thee, most sought out place during the year. 'specially the summer and special days.
Affordable, yet, personable.
Guaranteed to bring you back for many memorable times.
Classic Americana ice cream shop. Delicious but pricey sundaes. They have to-go walk up counter with seats outside, as well as table service inside.
Fentons is 1 of thee best ice cream shops around thank God they rebuilt it after the fire food is delicious and the portions are big now the ice cream is a masterpiece creations like saddle back brownie it's a whole pan of oowie gooie brownie with hella ice cream
Always a great treat to have Fentons. Good food and great ice cream. Sundaes are huge, and can certainly be split. Parking can be a little tough. I was there at 9: 30p on a Tuesday night and every take was full.
Classic ice creamery! Prices have risen, but the quality of ice cream remains the same!
Delicious creamy ice cream sundaes and milkshakes, gotta try it!
Corruption ice creams, great salads, you have to be careful not to leave valuables in the car, they stole our laptop, a gadget for computer games, and a trolley, in front of the guests of the ice cream parlor who were sitting outside
Ive been coming here since i was 6 years old and its always a joy to come now i bring my child here to enjoy the magic
The guy scooping was so rude to my gf. He kept saying no to every question or request she had and then would say just kidding a second later. For example, she asked if they can do two flavors for a small size cup, and then he said no and then a few seconds later just kidding. Both flavors she asked for he would said, don’t get that and then a few seconds later, just kidding. She asked if they had toppings and he asked her what she meant. She was by herself and it felt like he was trying to bully or make her feel small. Was also the only person scooping not wearing gloves. My gf is obsessed with ice cream and had been wanting to try this place for awhile. Extremely disappointed and won’t be back.
We visited last Sunday and they were so busy that we had to wait to get a table. Once we were seated it became clear that we would barely be able to hear each other because it was SO loud in the dining area. Our waitress was too busy and it was very hard to get service. Multiple times we asked for items (salad dressing, etc) only to never have it brought. Our drinks didn’t make it to the table until after our food because when they brought the food I had to point out that we never got our drinks. Prices were inflated, especially for the food. Ice cream prices were similar to what you’d find at Ghirardelli Square (so…inflated). And to round out the mess of our visit, our car was broken into while we were in the restaurant. We were parked just a couple of blocks from Fenton’s on Piedmont Avenue and had just driven into town from Yosemite. Travelers beware—the location is not ideal, parking is limited and not safe, and the food, while decent, is overpriced with incredibly slow service.
They have the best saddlebacks ever. It's three scoops ice cream with brownie, either in the middle or on the top and it's very delicious. Not too pricey but very agreeable with your sweet tooth
