Sat for 30 minutes without being approached by any staff whereas the individual next to me was served immediately after sitting down.

Downstairs lounge of the Pendry Hotel. I only went for cocktails. Overpriced and watered down. I had high expectations given the reputation of the hotel. The bar has absolutely beautiful ambience but the cocktails were nothing spectacular.

Don’t advertise something in the menu and sub out something inferior! - the menu says the caviar is Royal OSSETRA, but we were served Royal DAURENKI which is a much cheaper caviar than what is listed on the menu. Someone is cutting costs and using false advertising.

I came here for the first time for drinks with friends, and it was a lovely experience. Beautiful atmosphere, delicious appetizers, craft cocktails, and we had a really cool waitress. I will definitely be back.

A very disappointing experience with staff at the bar. We are staying at the hotel and spending quite a bit. Upon checking into the hotel we were told we should start our evening at the hotel bar and were offered one free drink when we got to the bar they refused us service several times while helping others who arrived after us. When we did get served, we were greeted with a bad attitude. Especially by the woman with the long black hair (see photo below) The drinks were decent.

Didn't like the taste of their cocktails that much but they looked good. The Scotch were much better.

Place was intimate with a lively atmosphere. If room is tight there's seating in Pendry, which is where the restrooms are.

If coming from the harbor, this would be a nice place to kick it off before heading farther down Fifth. And again on the way back.

Maybe because we came well into the evening but we did not get the amazing cocktails other reviews had mentioned. Instead we paid $18 each for a pineapple juice and gin with a sprig of rosemary thrown on top.

The ambience and decor in this place is fun, but I haven’t had such a sugary, poorly made drink since my college days.

This place is the cutest, good to take pictures and the drinks are at a fair price. Can't wait to go back

The Fifth and Rose is always a delight - and not what you would expect in this area of town, with all the typical beer and restos catering to the baseball crowd (I mean no offence, not what one would expect). Been coming to SD for visits, and something is refreshing hanging out here on a sunny day in the spring. The cocktails are simple and fit the mood and atmosphere of the interior and the freshness of the outdoor/indoor connection. The drink with Shiso could have been punchier (with more Shiso infusion). Recommend dropping in any time of day, but mainly early afternoon, for refreshment when it's not too busy - or late at night when the ambiance really shines.

I decided to stop in here because of the featured photo on Google. The picture was of the Mad Hatter cocktail, which is an egg white cocktail with an Earl Grey infused vodka (if my memory serves me correctly). Well sadly it was not available, BUT that's actually good news it means this place has a dynamic cocktail menu!

The team every season comes up with new cocktails which gets funnelled into the menu. You can see below the drink name the bartender that designed the cocktail. To me this is a key indicator of a good establishment.

The bartenders here are fantastic. Josh and Brennon were originally my bartenders. They are able to basically make you anything, one of the few places that knew what a clover club was without me having to explain. They have a fantastic cocktail list, but sadly I was craving an egg white so I had to go off script.

The atmosphere at fifth and rose is elegant yet modern. A very comfortable clean establishment that provides class. If you're into a craft cocktail Fifth & Rose is the place, in the Gaslamp District, you should stop into!

Fifth & Rose is a hotel bar right on the main street in downtown San Diego. It's got a bunch of tables inside and out, plus some bar seating. Their drinks are a little bit on the pricey side but not too bad, however the pours are decent. The staff here is friendly and drinks come out fairly quickly. Their menu for drinks is quite large and there's usually people here since the hotel can get pretty busy.

This place has a nice ambiance in the evening. Not to loud and has that darkness, candlelight vibe. The drinks are pretty expensive, but tasty. Service could use a little more bumps in points however.

Great place with really good cocktails. Each drink was created by someone who works there, so it's fun to order a drink from the person who created it ave task to them about it. Fancy place with good appetizers. Clean and the staff is really friendly.

The drinks were great and service is excellent. The bartender even offered to get a drink from the restaurant across that I like. The ambiance is great as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone

Had a high tide and a sequoia red wine glass, 16 and 30 USD respectively, before taxes.
Yeah, expensive
Quality was good but service was slow.
Go there if you are around the surroundings.
But dont put thaaaat much effort

Outstanding environment and outstanding cocktails. My friend and I arrived in very casual attire and they still treated us with utter professionalism. If you want remarkably well constructed drinks, a welcoming location, and incredible bar staff, this is the spot.

Went here for cocktails on a whim. Drinks were ok. Bartender “ over poured” my drink and then charged me extra for the over pour. Bush league.
