Fill Up Buttercup - Costa Mesa

I cannot rave about this place enough! They have such a great selection of items for all your zero waste needs! The staff is extremely helpful, they help navigate through any questions or concerns you may have! Come and support, it’s a must!

Went in because I'm tired of contributing to more plastic waste and wanted to try body natural products. I got the shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The shampoo & conditioner are technically double the price of the current shampoo I buy BUT it is a cheap shampoo from Sam's club (lol) so I don't even think it's fair to compare. However, I don't consider it expensive for the amount and quality. The ingredients made my whole family hair so soft! I used the body wash on my kiddos bodies & hair. Even though for their bath wash I would always buy the more expensive stuff it still doesn't compare to how soft their hair feels with the body wash I bought in store! Looking forward to returning. I attached a pic of the amount of shampoo I got filled up my old 29oz shampoo bottle.

This is my new favorite shop! I can get all my bath and kitchen essentials without all the plastic and toxins like at usual department stores. The owner is the sweetest and the staff is so good at giving recommendations for people new to the no tox life! You need to check it out

This shop is beautiful and it's filled with a wonderful selection of eco friendly soaps, lotions, detergents, lip balms, etc. So many products to help take steps toward reducing plastic usage!

The shop's owner, Jamie, and her staff are delightful and knowledgeable. Jamie went above and beyond to get me what I needed during my first visit. I will definitely be back!

We love Fill Up! We refill our cleaning supplies from their bulk options and I also get stuff for the house too!
Favorites are the laundry pods, hand soap and dish soap and also the dishwasher pods. They also carry a great assortment of natural soaps and other reusable goods!

I have been shopping here since the OG days & there’s been a reason why I always come back…the staff is so friendly & I love (& trust!) the eco-friendly/nontoxic/organic/reusable products they sell! I always have a great experience when I come in the store - good vibes, music, & smells! Also, for a nontoxic/zero waste/ refill shop the prices are very reasonable

I love Fill Up, Buttercup! They have all the essentials for home and body - shampoo, soaps, laundry detergent, deodorant, cleaning supplies, and some really fun accessories. I love how Jamie takes the time to source high quality products - I don't have to worry about what I put on my body or in my home when I shop here. They have the best shampoo/conditioner bars and the yummiest smelling all purpose house cleaner. I cannot recommend this gem enough! This is what plastic-free refill shop dreams are made of.

I was so sick of always shopping at so many different places so happy I found this place been coming here for the last year, it’s got everything I need for good sustainable healthy soaps and hygiene care! Super friendly staff too Kristina always helps me pick out just what I’m looking for!

PLASTIC FREE! They have recycled jars you can use to fill up on household cleaner, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, and more. Affordable as well. You get way more bang for your buck when you shop bulk ;) and your helping save the world! Highly recommend this place. Thank you Fill Up Buttercup!

If you’ve ever visited a beach that isn’t a raked tourist beach, you will notice plastic everywhere with more plastic trash washing ashore daily. Plastic straws have been washing up less (a small victory). But large shampoo, detergent and drinks bottles are still a huge concern for marine and coastal wildlife.
Enter Fill Up Buttercup, a small business tackling this problem head on. The owner, Jamie offers consumers household necessities without putting a strain on the environment. Once you visit the store, you’ll realize how beautiful your cleaning cupboard can be, an OCD paradise.
Jamie is diligent in making sure to only sell natural and non-toxic products so you don’t need to worry about any nasty chemicals here. As someone who’s struggled with tremors and acne, I’m thankful for the advice delivered by Jamie to stop using deodorant containing aluminum and to be more selective with what I’m putting on my skin and I have seen such a huge improvement.
Everything is reasonably priced. Some things may seem expensive at first, such as the reusable paper towels but the cost is equivalent to just 4 months of paper towels and the reusable ones will last years and help reduce deforestation and landfill. Hopefully pioneering the start of a new generation of refill stores and a movement away from single use plastics. Reverting nature back to what’s natural. Great work Fill Up Buttercup!

I recently stopped in to Fill Up Buttercup and was so impressed with the owner, Jamie and the other staff! Everyone was so helpful, knowledgeable, passionate and and caring. The selection is great and the shop is beautiful. I picked up some new hair conditioner, shampoo and a Dip bar which Jamie raved about. I even got a couple samples too. When I got home, I realized the dip conditioner bar had fragrance in it (only product in the shop apparently that does) and Jamie was gracious enough to do an exchange and went above and beyond to do so. So happy to see this type of shop in our community. So wonderful!

Beautifully laid out store with a carefully curated selection of bulk items and other zero waste essentials. There are a few bulk stores in the OC but this is the one I visit most often.
Liquid hand soap, conditioner bars, soap bars, dog waste bags, facial cleanser bars are usual things I buy.
The staff are lovely and they are also dog-friendly.
