Filomena's Italian Kitchen & Market reviews
18This place is one of the top-rated places with Michelin stars in LA for Italian food. It's also incredibly highly-ranked on Gogle. So I gave this place a try.
Bad customer service, food was disappointed, look like the manager / owner need to learn more knowledge what industry he is IN. Restaurant is all about service DUDE how come you dont know this very important point!? Puff.
So delicious and quaint! We loved our dinner experience here. Our waitress was super sweet and helpful, the restaurant is really cute and the food was fantastic. Our waitress recommended a lovely Sardinian red wine at a reasonable price range. We started with roasted calamari, delicious and unique presentation of small roasted calamari in a flavorful sauce. Then we shared the gnochetti with pork.such a yummy sauce with just enough heat. For main dishes we shared the fish special.super delicate and fresh and the lamb tenderloin.omg.so delicious and perfectly cooked with a balsamic sauce and roasted veggies. For dessert we had the lovely saffron ricotta cake. Fantastic experience and hope to return. Only negative was pretty noisy with tables close together, but the restaurant is very small so they fill the space!
I rarely come to the OC (the county Costa Mesa is in), but I was watching a show nearby so I stumbled upon this small gem. It's a very small restaurant and I didn't make reservations beforehand, but the hostess let my party of 4 sit at the only bar which I was super grateful for. Our waiter was very kind, taking the time to explain the menu and sauces. He was very attentive, never letting our glasses of water run out and asking us how the food was. You can tell we weren't from around there but he made us feel right at home and we had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, I got the pappardelle bolognese and my party shared the caesar salad and garlic cheese bread. Even the vanilla gelato and strawberry sorbet dessert were tasty. We will definitely return to the OC just to eat here. Thanks for the hospitality and great food!
It is Sardinian Italian, and Sardinia is an island, the menu has more of a seafood emphasis compared to most Italian places you find in the city. So, if you don't like seafood, this may not be the place for you (there are some non-seafood options, but most of the items do contain seafood). If you love seafood and Italian, this spot is a must!
Alert! DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE, manager / owner in this store is very rude, i see him yelling a delivery guy that help him delivery food. What a attitude he show in front of me and his employees, this is unacceptable in my opinion! He need to learn more from kids how to talk or being polite with others.
Alex was very rude and being a "Real Italian" who grew up eating manara he refused to do a sauce substitute. But I was able to call two other italian restaurants in the area that was able to do a substitute sauce. I mean when you have cooks that don't know how to cook I guess its hard for them. Save your time and money and go to Nick's Italian Restaurant where there cooks can cook. He is very rude and doesn't belong in customer service he has that mentality of a McDonald's lobby worker. The Owners really need to keep an eye on this guy. Maybe he should try Naples in Downtown Disney or Bella Sera in Monrovia and watch how their cooks can substitute.
A great restaurant focusing on Sardinian cuisine. It's a small restaurant so make sure to make reservations ahead of time. The best appetizers are the octopus stew and the grilled calamari. Make sure you have lots of bread handy to sop up the sauce from the octopus stew.
Watched the show of course, came here to read the reviews and honestly the owner seems to be rude and arrogant in her responses. Almost condescending to the customers. Not a wise decision.
It's not what it used to be. Front of house is broken. They don't listen and then they forget. Same chef is the response I got from the restaurant but the quality has slipped. The food is not what it once was and that's a shame.
We had take out of 4 entries, 1 appetizer, and 1 salad and it was over $110 (No drinks.) Though it seems everyone's prices have gone up these days. The calzones are huge, enough for 2 or 3 people. The staff was very friendly.
This restaurant gives wonderful service and tasty menu. My favourite place in the area. The meals arrived quick and the rates are inexpensive. Recommended.
Best Italian food and kitchen on the West coast. Truly the freshest authentic itialian good around.
Excellent food and service. Beyond our expectations. The staff is great and made the experience incredible. Recently remarked.
The reason why I am giving you five stars is: you have a Feisty/ fun attitude. I watched you on the cooking channel and you made the show. I lived in San Diego Ca for 30 years. My husband and I moved to Texas because the cost of living is cheaper. I will come visit your restaurant in June 2021. Just stay prayed up and don't worry about the negatively. Its always going to be that one or two customers that will put a negative in your reviews. I WOULD SAY" thank you for coming out to eat "and thats that. God is holding your business up very nicely. He can fight your battles without you saying a word. Loved the show! Regina and Ebony Hill. Say prayed up!
Great Family Restaurant! Travel from CA to celebrate my sons graduation and had a great family dinner for 12. The owner Frank was soo helpful in helping me plan the dinner when I was 3000 miles away. He also supplied the cake from a great bakery it was the best! The food was delicious. I did the catering menu and it was spot on with everyone at the table! The food was more than enough with tons of leftovers. Wait staff top notch! Definitely made us feel at home. Thank you for making the dinner so special for my Family. I will see you next time I come out for a visit!
I'm so glad we stumbled on this place! The food is tasty. The sauce has that classic, sweet taste and they give you plenty of it. The cannoli is just like I remember my nonna making. We even picked up some olives and ravioli from the market because everything else was so delicious.
How did this horrible pic get mixed up as it is as impeccably beautiful as the food it serves.
Granted, I am from the east coast and spent many an hour in the bakeries and delis growing up so admittedly a tad biased.
It's been 15 years now and never have any even made the same sheet. The grinder, or hoagie, was delectable and not since my teens have I had those moments of bliss. The pastries, fresh and flavorful works of art. I cried on my first visit as it's grandeur and stunning displays, although updated and cleaner than anywhere I have been; with every dish I try, remarkably, took me back and I find myself hearing but you should drive me crazy my grandmother and her eight sisters yelling in the kitchen wish I would kill for 5 minutes of today.
Congratulations on what you've accomplished and I will be in for a sandwich this afternoon.
