First Original McDonald's Museum reviews
14One overlooked aspect of the museum is the external mural which depicts life in San Bernardino county and beyond. Lots of details and vivid as well.
It's seriously been weeks since I've been here, but I can't stop thinking about it. Knowledgeable staff, and a real sense of time in a bottle.
Lots of interesting trivia about the world of McDonald's and memoriablia donated by folks
Should definitely be more popular than it is.
It was a very fun experience and great place to stop along Route 66! The host was very friendly and knew a lot about McDonald's history
Martin gave us some incredibly interesting history on not only McDonald’s, but also the area. We loved visiting this (free!) museum!
For a free museum, it's not bad at all. They have some really cool stuff from the original first McDonald's. And some cool McDonaldLand stuff like the officer big mac jail.
However, I feel it could use a major overhaul. The vast majority of it is happy meal toys. Happy meal toys definitely have their place in a McDonald's museum, but there are repeats of happy meal toys everywhere so you end up looking at the same stuff over and over. Plus, there is entire section dedicated to Burger King and Taco Bell toys. Why?
My recommendation: Declutter the displays. Have people walkthrough a McDonald's timeline. Focus on more of McDonald's history outside of toys. Have more plaques and signs throughout explaining the story behind different items. There are already things that talk about when certain menu items were introduced. Between that and McDonaldLand you could have a great timeline going of McDonald's history.
I love McDonald's history, so if you ever do decide to overhaul hit me up and I would totally revisit.
This place was awesome! All of the happy meal toys that were on display provided for the absolute coolest nostalgia trip I've had in such a long time. The gentleman overseeing the place was very kind and inviting, and even shared some great recommendations for places to stop on my trip out in California. There's even a souvenir penny machine in here to boot! I would recommend this place to every single person who finds themselves driving down route 66 in San Bernardino.
One of the smallest museums but boy does this bring back pure childhood nostalgia! Free admission. They have almost every single toy ever handed out with a Happy Meal. So much cool artifacts and menu items as well as historic information on what is McDonald's. A must if you live in the area and for those traveling on the historic Route 66. Wonderfully surprised!
Unique experience, tour guide had lots of great knowledge about McDonald's, San Bernardino, and the surrounding locations as well!
Such a super cute place with such friendly and helpful staff! Bring your family for a fun and informative afternoon. Highly recommended! Then pop across the street to the classic arcade to finish an epic fun filled day! Best day plan in San Bernardino!
Nice attraction to visit if your in the area. Seeing all the old happy meal toys and mcdonald's furniture brought back so much nostalgia
It was a great place to visit they had all the things that you remember as a kid growing up let's go back to see it again maybe take the kids
Awesome arcade. Plenty of machines. Came here on Saturday night and it wasn't over crowded. Definitely worth the $10 per hour for unlimited play.
Museum wasn't that interesting, a lot of old toys and movie memorabilia from "Founders". On the brightside, it's free. So there's that.
