I was going to book a 90 minute jet ski for my boyfriend and I. We live close by so this seems like fun. However after reading the many condescending replies by the company to peoples’ reviews I cannot in good faith support a business with such poor business practices.

Initially Hard to get an appointment as they take groupon's like "standby" and waited in line a long time, but they eventually fit us in and it was a lot of fun

Unfortunately this places owner lacks communication skills and seems to hold back on being very disrespectful. Pretty decent spot if it wasn’t for the owner being so rude and disrespectful I mean just look at his responses to all the negative reviews!

Seem nice enough but making a Groupon reservation won’t actually get you a jet ski unless you sit in a line all day.

Website says $49 per hour for jet ski, but actual price is double if not triple that. Some serious false advertising.

Bought a LivingSocial 90-min jet ski rental voucher a month or so ago.the PRINTED LEGAL CONTRACT of "how to use" and terms and conditions clearly state a RESERVATION time of 9am-noon Mon- Fri. It says I am to register online at their website and enter my voucher for a reservation.

I tried that, it wouldn't let me. I called and they asked a manager and they said that "their policy has changed" and they now only allow vouchers for walk up rentals on a space available basis only. The voucher does not state that NOR that they are allowed to change the terms. THE VOUCHER IS LEGALLY BINDING and I brought this up but they said no anyway.

DO NOT BUY A VOUCHER WITH THIS COMPANY - YOU CAN'T TRUST THEM. I am so upset about this - I have NEVER had an issue with Groupon or LivingSocial vendors before.

By purchasing this voucher I had to agree to their terms and I wouldn't be allowed to change anything - they should not be allowed either. If they changed how they do vouchers AFTER I purchased, then my voucher should have been honored with the policies I purchased it as. This makes me wonder how trustworthy they are on other things if they can't simply honor a voucher with THE TERMS THAT THEY THEMSELVES AGREED TO SELL THROUGH LIVINGSOCIAL. I do not believe this is on line with LivingSocial's policies either.

Sooooooo disappointed! This was easily handled, they could have chosen to honor the voucher as they issued it, but noooooooo!

Sooooo.see owner's response - I called this morning to the Harbor Island location and the woman who answered the phone called her manager. I could hear whole conversation with him when he said NO way I could make a reservation. I countered to her that it's what was stated on my voucher and that it should be honored even if they changed voucher policies going forward. So, really, NOW the owner says they could have honored the voucher?

Funny how they wouldn't honor it this morning when I politely called to inquire. Screw me over after that and mybbad reviews on Facebook, Google and Yelp - - and "suddenly" they could have accommodated me? How anout just honoring the written terms in the first place. Not good business practice - the owner might want to check with the manager the woman called to see why he wouldn't honor it when asked (unless owner/manager are the same?).

So, yes, I have cancellation and filed a complaint with LivingSocial. Sketchy simple business practices like this make me happy to cancel as this is NOT a customer service friendly setup - and from other Yelp reviews, I'm not the first person this has happened to.

I don't appreciate the condescending response from the owner that I am not a good fit for them.that snippy response alone says it all.

If it could be a zero star it would. Booked for my little brother in laws birthday. We showed up on time, not 30 mins early but this shouldn’t have been a problem because we literally walked up with another group who was just as late. Only difference is that they were white and they still got to hit the water. When we asked why we couldn’t go we were met with what was at first an awkward rudeness. Which slowly escalated into blatant racism. Even called my little brother in law the N word on our way out. Keep in mind us and the other group both booked the same time (not double booked because there was PLENTY of extra skis after the other group left). If you’re not Caucasian and you don’t want to basically get robbed due to no refunds, threatened, or incarcerated by/due to a Karen I would book with SD adventures right around the corner. I’m assuming this is why this place has changed names so much over the years. It’s a shame that my brother and his friend are only 18 and had to experience these peoples ignorance! ——— 4/4/2022 I noticed the owner reply to my review and I just want to clarify, MY REVIEW IS NOT FOR THE WRONG BUSINESS! IT WAS THE WONDERFUL FOLK AT FLY GUYS WATER SPORTS! They definitely made this day impossible for us to forget. This was BY FAR the WORST experience we’ve ever had in San Diego.

We had lots of fun renting the jet ski and going through the bay, the instructor was friendly and informative. Definitely recommended.
