Foothills Retro-Modern Motel, Auburn CA

Very well updated and appointed. Rooms were really clean and recently renewed. Room was extremely small, which was the only drawback.

I found this place, some years ago, making it convenient to go to Lake Clementine sac River at Auburn or even to Folsom Lake, Or red hawk casino. On the spur of a moment thing or when campgrounds are full. I like going to Akitas or Machado market on either side of the freeway on the service roads. They are fruit stores but they sell fresh baked pies. Foothills is decent and pretty clean. It could use some deep cleaning though maybe new carpet slight upgrade.it has an old charm to it. They do have a pool I never ended up using, some have a fridge and micro I believe, they have a Parkside patio which I prefer because I have dogs but I wouldn't leave the sliding glass door open while sleeping, as you have access to everyone else's patio, actually I'm going to bring my little window lock to use on patio door next time for fresh air

We love staying at this motel. Always friendly. Rooms are clean. We always ask for a Balcony room. Couldn't go swimming due to Corona Virus but still had a nice time.
The beds are comfy pillows very comfy. I highly recommend staying here over the red lyon inn or other hotels in the area.
