Fosters Freeze reviews
18Is there anything better in life than an Oreo twister? ! I think not. Regardless if you are a religious person or not, heaven is real.the Oreo twister is proof.
Used to go to this foster freeze back in the days. Still looks the same and taste the same. Even the guy that works here is the same. The worker really loves to interact with their customers. There also appears to be locals who goes here all the time. Menu is pretty big.
Food:
The old fashion is always my go to choice. The Fries that comes with the meal is pretty good. They tend to give you a lot of fries. Their onion rings are always good as well.
Service:
They are quick to make your order. Food is always top notch here and beats other big chain restaurants. Don't always see the helper to the cook wear gloves. The cook always wear it, though he should wear a hair net. Never had hair in my food though.
Parking:
Parking can be limited, but no one really stays at the location long. Parking is free as well. I find that most people order to go though there are two tables to eat at.
Seating:
The workers don't maintain the tables throughout the day. It's more of the community self regulating. Overall, it's usually clean.
Amenities:
No bathroom. Condiments are by request.
Good for ice cream and not much else. They used to have insanely good spicy chicken sandwiches for a reasonable price of like 7-8 bucks. Then they changed from big thick fried chicken patties to some processed small flat patties, not worth it anymore for taste or price.
I really liked the chocolate dipped cone I had tonight &, judging by the reaction of those eating burgers & banana splits, everybody was happy & satisfied with their orders. I also saw 3 of the hardest working people I've ever seen.a fry cook making burgers, a clerk taking orders, & ice clerk making the fountain drinks & ice cream treats. They worked in tandem & were very efficent! Great experience & I'll be back!
Pretty good value for dinner pretty good grub.
There is a sign that says cash customers get a discount, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't make a difference.
Good old fashioned ice cream experience. This place is a landmark that I hope will never go away. We need more businesses like this - the staff was helpful and my order was completed fast.
Plenty of parking but I can see it may get busy at times. There was a short line, even when it was an off time on a Sunday evening. But, everyone was happy to wait for great ice cream and food.
I no longer feel safe to get ice cream from them again. I am super highly allergic to nuts and so is my son. I specifically told them to make sure nothing with nuts. When I got my ice cream they had nuts, I asked him if they can remake them without nuts they refused and said I It’s not there problem then asked for a refund they refused again.
Haven't been to a Foster Freeze in a long time and decided to stop by with my family. They had signs for twister flavors that they were no longer serving, which I should have known since all the signs are old and faded, and the twister I did get was pretty much ice cream with Oreos sprinkled on top. Would have gotten two stars but the burgers were actually pretty good.
Was super nice the lady last night before close was really nice and helped me with my order even though I was uncertain and couldn't really communicate well at the time thank you very much
This place is amazing. If you have the craving for fresh HOT fries or ice cream this is your place. Everything is prepared fresh and without a long wait. Definitely one of my favorite guilty pleasures.
I've been coming to this location since I was in middle school. The quality of food hasn't changed. The staff is super friendly. The ice cream is the best. It definitely is my favorite burger spot in SJ.
I've been coming here since my Nana lived down the street when I was a little girl. The food is always great and the nostalgia is priceless?
Raised on this place in the East Bay. Stopped in with the wife for a snack done fries and a couple dipped cones. Delicious just like I turned as a kid was very happy there is a location in San Jose! We will return this time for the Boss burger I was raised on
A place where locals can get a blast (no pun intended) from the past! Banana milk shake is the best in town! Better than sonics! Love the fried Zucchini and fries are always HOT.
The burger I ordered wasn't very tasty. It wasn't absolutely terrible, but just about any other burger place would be better in my opinion. They used to have pretty good burgers, so maybe this was just a fluke?
Love that classic double cheese burger taste and they're fries are some of the best I've ever had, all thick and cruncky. I've been shopping there since I was a kid.
Food is pretty good, can get busy and noise with all the traffic nearby. Root beer floats and the burgers are top notch here!
Always a fan of foster freeze and the service is always great. They have an awesome menu and their prices are very reasonable.
