Fosters Freeze reviews
24 Don't go here
We ordered a caramel sundae, a chocolate soft serve in a cup and a cone. Lady gave us 2 cones and a vanilla soft serve with chocolate sauce. She refused to give us what we originally ordered and yelled at us for wanting her to give us what we ordered.
I can see why they are so few now. It took forever. People. Fresh french fries and a pastrami sandwich take time to cook. Crispy outside soft inside. Not even the small ones were hard. Pastrami sandwich? The best.
Ordered one of the cheesecake twisters and the server was super rude and would only give me one napkin (even though the twister was overflowing and made a mess everywhere). To make matters worse, the cheesecake chunks were moldy! I noticed they tasted awful and realized after looking more closely many of them had green spots on them. I hope I don't get food poisoning, definitely not coming back again: (
I used to work here in the 80s so was REALLY BUMMED they only had VANILLA (no more half and half) and a kid's size cup was $3.65!
Before the crisis. Price and flavor and service was great. Unfortunately now, flavor is good, sevice need to be improve.
We did not have a great experience at Fosters Freeze. There was only one woman working, so we waited in line for 10 minutes to place our order. In that time we watched the woman yell at two different customers for not understanding what she was asking. She was rude to us when we ordered, commenting on how it was inconvenient of us to change a small to a medium. We then had to wait 20 minutes for our orders. Mine was made incorrectly (coffee ice cream instead of chocolate) and my partner's milkshake was almost all ice. It was like a slushie. We were both frustrated by that point and didn't want to deal with the poor customer service so we just left. We will not be going back.
I love Fosters Freeze since I was a kid rootbeer float my favorite and now at 55 yrs old I still love it
The staff was super patient trying to understand what my child was trying to order. She reread the order twice to make sure she had all our special adjustments were correct. Then they helped guide us to the nearest bathroom.
This particular Foster's Freeze has excellent (and fast) service, tasty burgers (I like the Old Fashioned with Cheese), yummy fries, and irresistible milkshakes and ice cream (I like the triple berry milk shake). No indoor seating, though
Best soft serve I’ve ever had in my entire life, it’s creamy and so tasty! I’ll definitely come here a lot more it’s the best place I’ve ever been to for a soft serve.
It's sort of like an old Dairy Queen, featuring mediocre fast food (that isn't served particularly fast) and ice cream-centric treats. None of it will blow you away, and while this isn't a bad option on a hot day, there's absolutely no reason to go out of your way to visit this shack.
Old fashion soft serve and grill,
it's been here as long as i can remember (native).
Sometimes it just hits that spot.friendly service, decent burger+
This place sucks.paid 17.30 for a ham cheese sandwich meal and 2 vanilla cones. Are you freaking serious?
Those are the most expense stale cones I ever had. DON'T. JUST DON'T
I maybe could give it 5 stars but it was a tad expensive for burger and fries and chili cheese fries, but then again SUPER ample, super delicious, and VERY filling (1 order of chili cheese fries filled up my boyfriend and I.) Plus super sizing it probably didn't help the price to stay low. Nice selection of shakes. I love that it was open late enough. Plenty of parking.
Cheaper less refined version of Sparky burger but they have the tasty ice cream options that bring them up a notch.
Take-away only, there is not seating or indoor area. Medium sized parking lot; there are usually places to park. Vegetarian options on the food menu, and lots of soft-serve dessert items.
Laundromat in the same parking lot makes for a great laundry experience.
My family and I always love going here for a treat! They have really good chicken sandwiches and the ice cream is like no other. I recommend the swirly cone.
Not like grandma's Foster Freeze good food, good service. No place to sit down and eat. Just a hole in the wall type of hamburger joint nothing special but the name.
Very good old time hamburger stand. A real treat and a great deal. One of the last good places left in gentrified Berkeley.
Charge extra for ranch. 50 cents a packet. Charge $1.50 more for curly fries. Would rather go to jack in the box than go here
