Fredrick N. Evans Rose Garden McKinley Park, Sacramento CA

We recently learned that this garden is largely taken care of by citizen volunteers, which is pretty cool.

Came in December but I can't wait to come back when the flowers are in bloom. What a cute, romantic, little spot!

Lovely place for taking photos in the Rose garden or taking a casual stroll around the park. Garden is on the same grounds as the Playground which has a dedicated section for toddlers and youth. Sadly I don't know what the outcome will be but, there is also a sewer/overflow plant being built in the same compound of the park. Residents I've spoken to in the Victorian homes are not happy. That is also why I gave a 4 out of 5 stars.

Gorgeous garden to walk around in, and a great place for pictures! You can also rent out the area for an event like a wedding or quinceanera. There are always people doing photoshoots there, but you can still walk through in your workout wear!

Beautiful and extensive rose garden in McKinley Park. We visited out of season but it was still worth the visit. Can't wait to visit in the spring when all the buds pop!

Always a great time at this park when we are working on our fitness during my fit classes. Saturday mornings at 10am. Come join us behind the rose garden next time.

I love roses so the garden was very enjoyable. Smelled delightful. My boyfriend and I were studying some materials on the benches in here, it was nice, other than we had to have left his Ray Bans on the bench

Had a good time in the beautiful scenery rose garden. A great time to shoot here is at sunset. The park was pretty empty when we got there. The park has so many different scenes you can choose from. Overall it’s a great place to spend time with your family

I went to McKinley Park today 7/27/19 to do some walking and visit the rose garden. Unfortunately most rose beds look poorly maintained, full of weeds and the rose bushes look like they have not been pruned in a while. It was sad to see such a nice rose garden concept in this shape.

Beautiful rose garden! Many benches to sit on to read or enjoy the roses! Mckinley Park also has beautiful walking trails throughout where you can walk by the Rose Garden. There is also a free yoga class every Saturday morning at 9am right next to the Rose Garden trough Yoga Moves Us!

So many pretty colirs and so many awesome fragrances. Wife really needed out of the house and the garden didnt disappoint.

A fantastic place to just sit and relax. The flowers are well maintained and lovingly taken care of.

A very beautiful, must-see park of Sacramento. People young and old will enjoy coming here (a little ways down they have a great playground & tons of shade thanks to the huge trees. There is also a really cute 'fairy door' at one of them). Plenty of parking & people are friendly; the only downside was some littering but that is at the fault of the visitors not the park itself.

There are many varieties of roses and the structure of the garden is quite lovely for walking through. Upkeep isn't pristine, some weeds and such, but roses look beautiful:) Peaceful.

Love this park! It has everything you need! The play structure area doesn't have too much shade unfortunately.

Great flower garden beautiful place for pictures for any occasion. The day we went it was colder and windy but you cant tell, the sun was out flowers were beautiful

We sure are grateful for the folks that got the idea if planting the garden decades ago. We enjoy it every visit. Thank you for all those that are dedicated to keeping it in good shape.
