Fresh Freeze Drive-In, Eureka CA

This is an iconic stop in Eureka, CA Since 1951 it’s been serving tasty burgers, fries, and ice cream treats. I first had soft ice cream at this place when I was 7 years old! I still go for the ice cream or a malt. Fun experience in retro scene. Thank you Eureka Fresh Freeze for continuing the tradition.

Probably one of the best burgers I've had here in Eureka, I order the Humboldt and it was delicious, juicy and big, double patties, melted cheese, all the necessary's for a great hamburger. I've made it a point to try hamburgers from different restaurants here in Eureka and Fresh Freeze has by far the best for the best price.

Nothing about my order was correct!
And for the $$, complete joke.
Save your money. I give this place a Negative 2 stars.

I was surprised that I liked this place. I thought the food would be greasy but it wasn't. Came here for burger week and had their jalapeno poppers ranch burger, it was tasty! There fries are crispy and fresh too. Saw a lot of couples on dates here gave me nostalgic 50's vibes. Cute.

Probably the slowest service In town. Half the time their phone is off the hook and when you get there it will still take half an hour to get your food. I would not recommend

We always had ice cream there when I was a child (best ever). Years have gone by, my children grew to love this place also, and now my Grandkids are loving this place too. Now my Great Grand daughter will be going there to promise*

Forgot my mozerella sticks for the second time. Edit: RIGHT AFTER TYPING THIS I find they left cheese on my burger that had a single instruction of “no cheese”. Pathetic they can’t even check the order to make sure it’s right. My order is literally stapled to the bag and nothing in the bag is what I ordered.

Good burger but there small for the price. Got a double bacon cheese burger. The pattys don't fit fully in the bun and they were thin. I would give five stars if it was a bigger hamburger patty.

The best Banana Split Milkshake I have every had! Went back three days later for another one and their delicious Patty Melt. Great joint.

Food and service exactly what you expect. Fast friendly greasy kind of sloppy but in a good way. CLEAN

AWESOME FOOD! Super nice workers and the best fries and shakes around. I've only visited a few times but I sincerely enjoy EVERY visit. It's a nice place to eat for my family and I.

Soooo the milkshakes and ice cream here are really nice! I love the peanut butter hot fudge milkshake and the theme and atmosphere are really cute. Probably a really nice place to take kids! I think that the food they serve here is okay but could use a bit more flavor. I like the ranch also lol

Took my family there today. Horrible experience. Not sure who owns Fresh Freeze these days but it's not going good. I can remember when this place was where you'd want to take people visiting the area. Not anymore. Today, the staff was obviously overwhelmed with there 10-15 guests. It was obvious that so many previous orders were messed up that it became impossible to serve new customs. The girl in front of us waited over an hour and a half for one meal. A door dash girl waited over an hour. Our small order took an hour. I've never seen so many angry customers in any establishment.

Believe me when I say that I've never taken the time to comment (pos or neg) on any resteraunt but after today's visit, we more than likely will never go back as with many others who were there later this afternoon.

I truly hope that Fresh Freeze improves soon. It's always been a special place in Eureka.at least my entire life. This is nothing personal against their crew but it was obvious that the manager (if present at all) was out of her/his depth with simple tasks such as correcting orders, communicating with customers, or even identifying him or herself to customers.

Just food for though.a simple apology goes a long way for repeat business. In the hour that we spent waiting.not one simple apology was heard. Only excuses and tires screeching as angry customers left.and then had to return for missing items or the entirely wrong order.

Ok, I'm done ranting.

Delicious, as always. I remember Fresh Freeze from when I was a kid and it was so nice to get it again a few weeks ago. I highly recommend the fried zucchini sticks and onion rings. They are divine.

I came here a long time ago before covid and had the fish and chips and they were pretty good! Finally came back a year later and ordered a burger which was the worst burger I ever had! It was hard like a hockey puck and so dry. The fries were also underdone, soggy and was lacking seasoning. The soda was also flat and tasted like it was watered down. The lady at the cashier is so sweet but we ended up getting food from most likely angry cooks. I know how it's like to work in the food industry, especially during covid, so I even tipped them pretty well, but was extremely disappointed in their food. At least their shakes are great, coming from a machine.
