Frida Mexican Cuisine

Came for my first time the atmosphere was nice and my waitress was Amazing her name is Marycarmen she was so nice and took care of us so good and made sure we were taken care and I'm definitely coming back thanks to her. Ask for Marycarmen she's the best!

Viva La Frida! I have spent 20 years here in Los Angeles and have passed by this place so many times! Finally my family decided to have brunch here and BOY WE ARE FULL! Fridas specializes in the MEXICAN EXPERIENCE! The staff were friendly and welcoming! They have a full Mariachi band that plays music consistently. Fridas has a full bar with Mimosas for your brunch if you like. Now lets get to the food review shall we? The food is delicious and its buffet style and the food ranges from tacos, quesedillas, rice, beans, chicken wings, macaroni cheese, Plantains, tamale and of course a dessert bar. The churros are scrumptious! The Mariachi band had me dancing every time I got up to eat LOL. Fridas is located in Sherman Oaks Galleria which is an upscale area with great connections. Luis is a great manager and was courteous and professional. Fridas you guys are AWESOME!

What a rip off. 2 (regular I mean it. REGULAR) burritos with the tip for 52$. They Took our tortilla chips away while eating.

I've been to Frida's three times. Service ranged from average to good. Nothing to complain about there. Atmosphere.cavernous.

My issue is the fact that the food is probably the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten in my life- especially for the price. My Lord. How is this place open? You know that they pay a lot of money to lease that huge space. The bathroom is a soccer field's length from the seating. I work out at the 24 hour fitness in the Galleria, and I've walked by Frida's maybe 100 times- I've never seen it busy. How are they affording the rent? It's crazy. LA has so much amazing Mexican food, it makes no sense that this place is open. Most of the upscale, Mexican food concepts in LA are trash considering you can go to any hole in the wall and just be blown away by the flavors. The only reason I'm writing this is in the hopes it'll save some poor soul a couple bucks when choosing a restaurant tonight.

Skip it – in short, skip it and stop a taco truck on Sepulveda. We strolled in after a movie one evening and it was meh. The service flat and the flavorless overpriced food, well it was flavorless and overpriced. Sorry to say, we won’t be back.

Food was great. Had Guac & chips and others with me had tostada salad with chicken and Oaxacan Mole. Very good food and wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Unique thing was the coat rack at the table to hang whatever you wanted to take off while dining.

Very average food preparations. We had tried the fajitas and the tamales. The margaritas were reasonably good.

We'd hesitated trying Frida ahead of seeing a movie in the Galleria in the past because of a lack of vegetarian dishes, and because their pinto beans and Mexican rice are also not vegetarian. Some time had gone by since they had replaced El Torito Grill in this spot, and they added a vegetarian menu, so we thought "well at least we won't starve, let's give it a try. "

The atmosphere is great and our server was really nice and took care of us.

We were overall disappointed with the vegetarian experience with the items we ordered. Kudos for having a dedicated vegetarian menu but we think you can do better with what you delivered. The vegetarian option for beans is black beans. These tasted okay but a vegetarian refried beans for many is probably preferable to black beans. Also, as a vegetarian, we could only have plain white rice which, for most at a Mexican food establishment, is not as interesting or tasty as a vegetarian version of the more flavorful Mexican rice.

I had the Taco de Champinon which came with 2 small mushroom-filled tacos and some melted cheese. It felt like not a lot for the price of the dish and overall seemed a bit overcooked and not as flavorful or nice to look at as vegetarian tacos I've had at other places. (Served with black beans and plain white rice.)

I also ordered a Mexican Sour which was heavy on the "sour" flavor and not so much on the Mezcal it was made with.

The chips and salsa were good enough.

Overall, although we were happy there were vegetarian options, nothing that we ordered was particularly good. The mushroom tacos could have been beautiful and more fresh and they really could do with a vegetarian version of refried beans and Mexican rice.

We won't be rushing back.

Short Version: The food was mediocre, and the service was bad.

We ordered margaritas, and they were the only highlight of the night. However, the guacamole was tasteless. When we mentioned this to the server, he simply shrugged it off.

To make matters worse, the fajitas arrived without any sides as they had forgotten to bring them. The sides were eventually brought after a 10-minute wait, but by then, the dish was no longer sizzling, resulting in a highly disappointing experience.

As we also ordered fries, the server carelessly slid the plate onto the table, causing a bunch of fries to fly off. Shockingly, the server left without acknowledging the incident or apologizing.

The manager attempted to salvage the situation by offering complimentary desserts, which was a nice gesture. However, considering the high price we paid, the overall experience was truly unsatisfactory.

We had a private party there and everything was perfect. The managers are super nice and the waiters offer great service. The food is delicious. We would highly recommend it to anyone!

I really didn't love my experience here. The atmosphere was extremely loud, the food was bland (and I didn't get what I actually ordered), and the service was incredibly slow (food came out fairly quickly, but we were not checked on and we had to summon our bill after 30 mins of waiting). The table side guacamole was cool, but it really needed some salt and there was none to be found. That said, the glass enclosed patio was a nice outdoor space to eat.

Honestly I don’t know why they have such low reviews i just went last sunday for their brunch and omg it was so delicious and definitely worth the price! The food was amazing and so was the atmosphere will definitely come back! <3

Restaurant is nice but the customer service that we got at this place from the server name LUIS IS ONE OF THE WORST DONT COME TO THIS PLACE

Went for Sunday brunch and it was wonderful. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly.

Service and atmosphere are excellent. The food is fine but not remotely worth the cost over cheaper options.

Waaaaay too expensive for what it is.a run of the mill Mexican restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the food is decent, but not out of this wo.

This place is way better than the one in the Americana. I had the trio 3 enchiladas different flavors.

It's a fancy overpriced Mexican restaurant named after Frida. Drinks weren't special and the food tasted good. Better off going to a local Mexican spot and spending a fraction of the price for better food, but if friends wanted to go here I would go back.
