Furry Friends Dog and Cat Grooming

We just recently boarded our old lady, a 15 year old pitty-doberman mix, for a two week stay at Furry Friends - and they went above and beyond.

At the very beginning of the trip she started to get anxiety, something she's never struggled with after being boarded dozens of times. Then she got a UTI about halfway into her stay. Needless to say this was incredibly stressful, especially when traveling with poor cell service in a foreign country.

The FF staff handled it incredibly well. They got her on anti anxiety medicine right away which helped to calm her down. They worked with me to problem solve what might be causing they anxiety. They took her to the partner vet (Cuyamaca) to get a UA for her UTI and got her on antibiotics. And when we picked her up, everything was clean: her, her bed, her reusable diapers. Everything. Thank you all so much for your love and care of our old lady!

I am so pleased with this place. The cage-free boarding facility was a godsend for my sometimes-nervous pup. He got a chance to socialize the entire time I was away on vacation and he really improved a lot. I take him to the dog park almost daily, but he was always afraid of larger dogs (although who can blame him, he’s 15#). Now, he knows how to play with other dogs of mostly any size! Thank you Furry Friends, I will gladly use your services again and I really appreciated the modest pricing.

I love how it’s a NO FUSS, NO NEEDLESS FRILLS kind of place. We go in and out and get exactly what we paid for. (Which by the way is a fair price if not, much less than everywhere else.) We get Nothing more Nothing less! If only ALL BUSINESSES RAN THIS WAY.
My only complaint is the smell (which is actually expected…they are animals) but a small effort to use a strong odor product would be greatly appreciated and I’m sure there’s some people that are petty enough to deter them from entering. I deal with it because like I said they get the job done and in spite of that I still give them 5*’s all year long! I’m sure you will return too, once you have taken your much loved animals (family members) in.

Took my cat to be groomed and the service and price were impeccable. It's not a solid 5 because the place smelled like urine but so very strongly I tried to hold my breath. I understand accidents happen. Other than that it was a wonderful experience and my cat was calm and content when I picked him up.

I just moved to the area and tried furry friends for the first time for cat grooming service. My cat is not the easiest to handle and they did a great job! I will definitely be using their services again in a few months.

This is the worst pet grooming I've ever gotten for my cat. The shave was uneven and they left the tufts of hair just hanging off of him. Will not be going back.

What can’t be said about this magical location. As you may imagine, running a family owned business is no cakewalk but Claudia and Wilson certainly make it look like one. Their ability to communicate well with a fully booked schedule day after day is more than just a skill it’s something bred into their DNA. Most people dread taking their pets to the groomers out of fear that there will be injuries or poor quality, but it is clear these two have been in business with something they truly have immense passion towards. My Husky always comes home happy, fluffy, and smells like heaven. I’m happy to call myself a client and my dog struts proudly after his bath.

If I could give place NO stars that would be PERFECT.
I will NEVER be coming back here. My dog came back home bleeding around her nose and her leg from her grooming appointment and on top of that her and hair was UN EVEN.

My big kitty, 18 pounds, looks handsome with his lion cut. Thank you Ms. Claudia. Thank you Wilson for your advice on the timeliness of his haircuts, and I did get him a soft carrier.

Took my cat in because he had just recently returned home after spending 3 days outside. It was my first time sending my cat to be groomed, and I'm overall satisfied with what they did. My cat seemed more calm then I expected and smelled really nice. I definitely noticed the difference and it didn't take too long for them to give him back. I got to run some errands while I waited.

Yikes, was hoping this spot so close to home would be perfect for my little Persian cat. He is used to being groomed so he’s very well behaved.

Pros: they did a great job deshedding and he is much softer now. He had a few tangles and they’re gone and his coat is softer for sure. I’m super allergic to him (but like still worth it look how cute he is), and I can already feel my allergies are less severe when holding him. The customer service was ok.

Negatives: he smells worse than he did before I brought him in, his paws were not trimmed and don’t even seem like they got cleaned, his tear stains were entirely untouched. He had gotten too close to my pottery wheel yesterday and got some clay on his leg, which was still there after I picked him up.

I can’t speak for how they do with dogs, but I know for sure I won’t be bringing my cat back in again.

They did a pretty good job grooming my dog. It was his first time there. I will be taking him back. They just have to give used to him

Great professional groomers and a owner with years of experience and really a nice caring person. Took my 11 month old huskey for a bath and comb out.excellent results and price for a 70 lb.dog.highly recommended and great location off of 15 fwy and El Cajon Blvd.

Take my kitten there to get his nails trimmed. Always quick and easy with them! They are sooo sweet to him too. Would definitely recommend.

Couldn't be happier with their service! Finding a good cat groomer is always difficult but Furry Friends did an excellent job, especially dealing with my two difficult cats! They also gave me recommendations to make the next visit easier on them which I greatly appreciated. Will definitely be coming back!

Brought our kitten in to get her nails clipped and they were very fast with a reasonable price. They were also knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Definitely will be coming back.

Make an appointment and they tell you we rushed your dog as it is stressful for the older dogs on the weekend and you should bring them during the week.really look at how many appointments you make and then to charge $61.00 for 30 mins of service get real as everything is charged per item. I miss the first few months when you were open. I am looking for a new place where service and respect for Anil make is first.

I took my cat in for a lion cut. The staff were perfectly friendly but it smells and doesn't look the cleanest when you walk in (which, it's a pet groomers, so that's fine). I think this place is probably better at doing dogs, as the shaved my cat so close to the skin her nipples were bleeding when I took her home. I probably won't be back.

I called for same day grooming and Claudia was so nice over the phone. They explained about three hours but was done within two.

LOVE LOVE LOVE WILSON. He handled Chance so patiently and lovingly. Listened very well of what I wanted then afterwards gave amazing, detailed of what happened throughout the grooming process. He specified that he will use the blueberry shampoo to help get ready of the red stains on his paws.
Wilson gave the best advice, he’s so knowledgeable and passionate of his job.

For Covid, they have proper social distancing etiquette. Wait outside while there’s a parent and paws are present inside and masks always required.

But anyways I will surely come back and ask for Wilson specifically. I love seeing my doggo so happy cute and clean.
