Gar Woods Grill & Pier, Carnelian Bay CA

Dinner at sunset was almost too good to be true the first time. Steaks on a dirty grill the 2nd time was unfortunate, but more than made up for it with the 3rd trip with a bacon wrapped filet cooked to perfection. Nice, strong white russian to boot. Excellent cuts of meat - the blue cheese butter made all the difference. Cant wait to be back for more.

Great food, great service, wonderful atmosphere! We experienced both the sitting at the bar and at a table in the restaurant, and enjoyed both times.

First time here. Won't be my last. Beautiful views of Lake Tahoe, outdoor dining, great food, high energy, friendly staff. I had the lobster bisque soup, super delicious. Also had the salmon teriyaki salad. Plated very well and tasted very good. If you haven't been you must.

The service was heartwarming and welcoming. Our server was polite and had a very good suggestion for the menu. He was attentive and the manager coming to our table to ask how the experience was, is a very nice touch of true service.

Nice restaurant. My niece had her pre wedding ceremony here and we dined in with several guests.

Got to be one of the best seafood pasta (taglierini) I have ever eaten before! Service was A plus, peach frozen cocktail (can't remember the name) was so good! Definitely recommend!

Everything from drinks, appetizers, and prime rib was wonderful. We sat on the outside deck with heaters and had beautiful views of Lake Tahoe.

The food, service and views are spectacular! Fresh seafood, steaks cooked to perfection and don't miss having a Wet Woody! True gem on the north shore. Reservations recommended.

It’s ok, not really worth the hype. Not bad cocktails but don’t think the food is anything special. Very noisy - sports bar type feel to it but with a nice patio.

One of the best restaurants on the north side of the lake. The food is great, the Wet Woodys are a must-have, and the servers are knowledgeable and engaging.

Great location right on the water. Went there for a wedding, great food and drinks, will definitely be back. Had the filet wrapped in bacon. And the wet woody drinks are dangerously delicous.

I went to Garwoods on August 7,2021 for Lunch.we had crab cake sandwich, the very famous vinegar chips and salad. Everything was delicious, nothing to complaint. I went there in 2020 trip and love it sooo much. Frozen Margarita was the best ever. Our waiter Josh Fitch was so nice. He knew how to server (the way we expected) Chips, salad and drinks followed by the sandwich. Thank you so much for the nice food, view and the very hospitable waitie. The best in Carnelian Bay.

It was.fine. Go here for the ambience and the wine list. The food good, but not the most memorable. The fries, on the other hand, were amazing.

Gracious staff! Food presentation and tastes were delicious. Outdoor dining with heaters! Scenery galore!

Overpriced for average food quality and poor service. Website menu doesn’t match actual menu at the restaurant. Waiter walked past our table several times and avoided eye contact before having to ask him to take our order after 20 minutes. He also didn’t bring breadsticks he offered until asking him again right before the food arrived, and the breadsticks are a joke. Literally bread STICKS. Hard crunchy straw-like sticks that are way too salty to eat. Got a Caesar salad and asked for extra croutons. Didn’t get them. Ordered prime rib sandwich that was supposed to be thin sliced per the menu, but it was mostly thick slices of fat. Very disappointing. We’ll never go back. Sad because my girlfriend and I were looking forward to it all day and traveled from Oregon for a weekend getaway.
