Juan Carlos is always flexible, understanding when things happen and you can’t make it. Been coming here since I was a kid in HS and his dad use to cut my hair. Best barber in LA hands down.

I only came here because my regular barbershop is closed for the holidays. I asked for a 2 at the top faded to a 1 on the sides. It’s something I shouldn’t need to show a photo for but even still I did. He set it at a 2 and it removed almost no hair then he went down to 1 1/2 and it did not remove anything at all so clearly his clippers are not calibrated. It’s way too dark at the top to be a 1 1/2. But I didn’t want to risk him messing up the faded blend from that point. I have wavy hair so you definitely need to run a comb through it to agitate the hair up because my hair lays down. Instead, he just brushed it in the same direction with a soft brush which lifted nothing. The edge up is decent but in the front it’s not fully straight and he didn’t put any water or lubricant on my face before using a dry razor blade to line up. Ultimately I’m not impressed. I’m black & white mix and it seems he doesn’t have much experience with this hair type as he didn’t even comb it before cutting it. Mostly I’m annoyed he didn’t cut to the numbers I asked. He showed me the clippers said 1 1/2 so his clippers need to be replaced because this is the darkest 1 1/2 I’ve ever seen. Most likely I’ll just have to get another haircut in two days when my shop opens back up. Black or mixed raced people, I don’t recommend at all that you go here. It wasn’t the worst haircut ever, the side fade is okay, it’s acceptable.but I shouldn’t have to go home the same day to trim my hair down shorter the same day I got it cut. I basically have the same length on the top as when I walked in. 50% on him 50% on the clipper numbers being way off.
