Wonderful time of year when Panther Meadows is open, from July to November.

This trailhead takes you into the heart of Panther Meadows.

Access to a network of mountain bike and hiking trails as well as the lower end of Sisson's Trail up Mt. Shasta. 45 miles of new trail are being added in 2022 & 2023

A wonderful day hike on the north side of the City of Mt Shasta. With only minor elevation gain and plenty of room on the trail, this family trail leads to a beautiful view point of the splendor that is Mount Shasta!

Gateway Trail Head was a nice hike. It was raining off and on. I think this was the place that groups can rent out. So we were lucky the gate was open. No group.
Blessings, John

Had the trailhead been open.it would get all five stars. The US National Park Service had this and numbers of others closed due to the area forest fires and smoke issues. We were saddened because we did want to go further in on our trip. Bummer. You should go, but check for closure before booking and going.

This is a great spot for a hike or MTB. I rode the Gateway out and back and it was in great shape today. Today was my first ride on the trail and it was a great experience. It was more uphill than down on the route I rode today, but it was enjoyable. There was nothing technical or challenging on the trail, but there were great berms and side elements to make it fun. If you are in the area, make time to ride here. My route was about 9 miles round trip.

Worst trail network, poorly maintained, grumpy locals. Lots of bears though! Would not run/ride here again. 0/5 stars

Nice trail close to the town. Very windy, seemingly for no reason, but a great place to go if you want to have an easy stroll

Lovely place. Love taking my dog here, she can run and run and gets pretty tired after a walk or short hike through the woods. Be mindful of other dogs if you have an aggressive dog please keep them on a leash or warn other dog owners in advance. Most dogs are off leash and super friendly but it's just something to be mindful of if you are out here with dog (s). Also a great place to walk and hike without dogs too!
