I would give this place closer to a 3.5. Went late to try the crab sandwich which a bit overcooked the gaucho salad was very good. The guac and calamari are solid. Easy order at your table service. The beach view is great!

The music is LOUD AND APPALLING. Food was cold and waitress was RUDE. Never going here again. Don’t be fooled by it’s appearance like I was.

Cocktails were excellent, as was the view. Food was underwhelming, but not terrible. It's definitely a great spot to have a drink, but skip the asparagus and calimari.

We stopped there as we were walking along the beach. Being that's it's the only place in the beach in the area, we decided to give it a try. You order your food online, and a waiter brings it. The place was packed (Saturday afternoon) and it was very loud (customers, not music.) Service was a little slow (almost 25-30 minutes for drinks and 45-50 for food) so please take that under consideration. Beer was cold, cocktail was great, and the food was ok+. I had the burger and my girlfriend had the fish and chips. French fries arrive a little lukewarm. Overall, cool place, maybe better service when it's not as packed.

I have been there 3 times and always the worst service in all of Long Beach. You order and pre-pay and pre-tip online, so no incentive for good service. Twice my food came 10 minutes before the drinks, so the food was cold by the time anything to drink should up. I skaed the server today where my drink was and he said, "I don't know" and I never saw him again. I had to go to the bar and ask the bartender.
It had been sitting waiting for a server to serve it for quite a bit of time. Additionally the food does nor co e out at the same time and you have to hunt down a server if you want your complete order. A shame as the location us unbeatable, but that seems to be what they are counting on, but after 3 tries I will not be back.

Great addition to the shoreline…huge upgrade over the old Alfredo’s concession! Food is good, not great…well presented and fairly tasty but a bit pricey. Lots of food choices, though it can be a bit confusing with a QR code menu for the waited area and different menu for the take out window. Great ambiance…high end outdoor feel done well.

Nice location on the water and quality interior design. Sorry to report a major letdown though. Music was limited to one genre and WAY WAY too loud. When asked to please turn it down a little, a waiter retorted… I don’t control the music. Volume increased over our stay and no wonder staff couldn’t hear customers. It was difficult to decide what to order because nearly all menu items sounded unappealing. When we were finally ready, everything we wanted they were out of. Kitchen closed just after 730 although they’re open until 10pm. Menus were dirty and sticky. Disappointing that managers and staff are clearly unprofessional. Advice- your menu needs large scale improvements and you must hire seasoned wait staff with training and experience. $16.00 for a glass of house wine? This place has a ton of potential and could be a classy establishment if done correctly.

This place needs to
know how to run a restaurant, terrible service,
Music is too LOUD, they would not turn it down even a little bit
Food tasted good, but was cold
Would have ordered more to drink
Just wanted to leave
Not ever coming back

I really wanted to like the restaurant but it fell short in key areas. First the scan the barcode and order and pay online is a valid business model but don’t present me with a default 20% or higher tip! Menu is adventurous but execution was lacking. Short pours for their $16 cocktails, Batter on the soft shell crab sandwhich was heavy. Mussels were spectacular. Lomo sandwich arrived with cheese although I specifically requested it to be removed and meat was well done (chewy). Finally for a table for two ordering two appetizers 2 cocktails and 2 entrees I would expect separation between the courses. It all arrived at once. Soooo swing and a miss. Total spent $135 - I expect a lot better for that.

Spotted Gaucho Beach and decided to give it a try for brunch. The location is fantastic, offering a unique setting with a spacious deck for people-watching and enjoying ocean views. Despite the vast beach surroundings, options are somewhat limited in the area. The ordering process intrigued me—simple yet modern, with a quick QR code scan, order placement, and payment, followed by table-side food delivery.

The menu featured a decent variety, and though tempted by the idea of soft shell crab, a personal favorite not in season at the time, I opted for the beach chilaquiles with steak. Unfortunately, the dish didn't live up to expectations; it felt like nachos with a store-bought sauce hastily poured over, accompanied by a modest serving of steak for an extra $10. The steak, while tasty, seemed a bit underwhelming. My partner's choice, the Beach omelette, turned out to be surprisingly bland.

A noteworthy quirk was the absence of coffee options, redirecting patrons to Gaucho Grill next door for coffee-related beverages. The café con leche and cortado there were enjoyable, although the single sweet pastry on offer that morning left much to be desired.

Considering a return for cocktails and the vibrant atmosphere, perhaps trying the empanadas at Gaucho Grill, while bypassing the food options at Gaucho Beach. Ultimately, the experience is subjective, and exploring it firsthand is recommended. Supporting local businesses attempting to revitalize our beachfront dining scene is, at the very least, a commendable initiative

Not a fan, not crazy about the QR code ordering. We ordered their Smoked Old Fashion, although it comes out in a really cool plastic case filled with smoke, it was extremely sweet so we sent it back, the second one was less on the sweet side but nothing to brag about. We ordered the Gaucho burger, it was raw in the middle, we cut it in half to share it and it was cold and raw in the middle. I was considering letting them replace it, but before the server came back to us a very loud drugged out man who was threatening imaginary people walked right through the patio next to our table. There are a lot of people that aren't right down there in that area it doesn't seem so safe that there is no security to prevent them from cruising through the patio. We got uncomfortable so just asked for a refund on the burger. I also don't like that you have to close out your tab and pay gratuity to even get your order put in. The woman that was our server was great, she was nice and apologetic. I believe it was a manager that came to give me my receipt for my refund on my burger, also nice and apologetic.

Self service here is a fail.

They make you complete payment in advance of each order with credit card, including gratuity.

This sucks because:

-Extremely slow
-Nobody to ask questions or help with the menu
-no way to make aware of allergies
-staff doesn’t know the menu anyway
-don’t need anymore napkins or silverware because you won’t get more

Steak was served cold and without the side of rice (we were told they didn’t want us to wait). Not only was the steak cold but undercooked. Rice came 10 mins after we ate the cold steak. When we told them we wanted the entree and side together, they said they would stick it under the heat lamp while we waited.

Also, No gluten free awareness. Fries are fried in the same oil as the fish and everything else so you can’t call them vegetarian or gluten free. Everyone knows to make French fries separately.

The guests all look lost and the staff is God knows where. Music playlist has been the same 4 bob Marley songs you already can’t get enough of.

High prices
Mediocre food

Great location. Too bad it’s a 2 on the rest.

I honestly feel so ripped off. I’m going to go spend another $200 somewhere else right now so that I don’t cry.

99% sure that management is unaware and doesn’t care anyway.

Long Beach finally has a great eatery located directly on the beach! Gaucho Beach & Gaucho Cafe are here on Alamitos Beach & we couldnt be happier. It is an open seating atmosphere where you order directly from the QR code located directly on the table. Kamilah & Sal really went out of her way to make us feel welcome and explained everything to us. The food is delicious and the cocktails are tastier. There are bar, patio and rooftop deck seating. We really enjoy the location here. You can run, walk on the pedestrian path or bike to Gaucho Beach. This is such a welcome addition to our city. Thank you for opening such a nice restaurant. We really needed something on the beach. There is a parking lot so make sure you pay the meters so that you do not incur a ticket. Let them know that Ricardo the Realtor sent you and we shall see you here!

We went to happy hour and it’s nice that the restaurant is on the beach. A homeless man came into the restaurant yelling, walking around the outside of the table area. I got the attention of a server and he gave the man some water, chatted with him and he went down the steps. We ordered a drink it had too much syrup, so sweet definitely not made properly. The server was great and brought another drink that was made properly. We ordered calamari, and their happy hour burger. The calamari, breading did not stay on the and fell apart. Calamari was tough. The hamburger meat was raw more than in the middle and the meat when touched was cold. We send it back and left. Nope! Not good

This could be a wonderful restaurant but won’t even try it with the adjoining encampments. This was right down the street from where a girl was attacked by a homeless man. The city officials are destroying Long Beach. This is a park and a neighborhood with hundreds of peoples homes all around and rents are everywhere.

A great place for either a quick snack or lunching at the beach. I only tried a croissant with a cold ice coffee but all was good.
