Gen Korean BBQ House, Fullerton CA

Great dining experience. Servers were really kind and quick, they never made a face if we asked for new set of meat. The sauces was a bit scant, you only get a tiny plastic swig of oil. Meats were great flavor, although the brisket was a bit dry, like their fat content was real low, but dipping it in the oil and slat mixture helped.

Waitress was very rude - sorry I don't know her name. I asked if everything was okay. She told us that she ALWAYS like this.

Yanci was my server she the best she my server to go to I love how she on point to everything and her sister the host immediately sat us down as professional do, there both the best I give them a great review and everyone ask for yenci

Great place before the pandemic, continue to be great during the pandemic, will remain top place to go to after the pandemic

My wife and I love Gen for spicy bulgogi and garlic pork belly! Recently introduced the kids to Korean BBQ experience since they love shabu shabu so much we figured of course they’ll also love Gen, but I could tell they were a little upset at first that we didn’t go to shabu shabu, but our server Jason was so welcoming and funny and explained many food items to them and it really made their night. I truly can’t say enough on this point. If you have children that drag their feet and make a huge deal whenever you try to take them to new places or feed them different food, the service experience is often the tipping point on sealing the deal or breaking it, and Jason definitely win my family over. Thank you! The wife and I will always go to Gen, and it’s great that we can add it to the very short list of places the kids are excited to go to. See you soon!

We went to Gen Korean BBQ House for a birthday celebration.

As far as customer service goes, we were all very impressed and grateful as there is a time limit of an hour and thirty minutes in effort by Gen Korean to maintain social distancing amongst guests, which they also did well!

The food was decent; we understand that all businesses are suffering due to covid and are empathetic to this, with that being said the quality of the meats could have been better. Someone we went with mentioned that this was probably to cut costs since they were closed for so long. As I said, we understand this and are so happy places are opening up again, however the cost for the customers was the same if not more - to have anything less than high quality meat at that price is absurd. Additionally, the waiting system they have doesn't really make much sense in my opinion, as it was inefficient (make sure you have ample time to wait around).

We will probably be back as this is a fam favorite, however I would like to see some changes as mentioned above.

The food was very good and priced just right. Service was a little slower than I liked. They could optimize by making their dishes bigger. They could probably cut down their dish washing by 60%, and the number of times the servers needs to stop by. This could also increase table turn around time.

GEN uses these tiny plates with 2-10 slices of meat and bowls of 4 chicken nuggets (KFC). 90 min is enough for AYCE so no need to make the servers do 10 times the work per table by slowing things down. Everything was small so the server had to keep dropping off the same thing over and over again. As soon as he drops off, you'll have to ask for another. We generated like 50 plates on our table, and had 7 cooking plate changes. Usually in other KBBQ, the server stops by a few times and we're out in less than an hour. Probably no more than 8 plates total.

Outdoor seating, check-in through through the webpage. Outdoor dining, great service, great meat selections and price. Everything so flavorful. I got steak multiple times, so good. Octopus, shrimp, beef tongue, pork belly, and more. Delicious

Horrible service I went there three days in a row and they told me they could not seat me. The Sunday afternoon I went they said they couldn't seat me I said you better get the cops to remove me then. I'm only one person. But if I could shut this place down I would horrible service. Food was excellent. I have video too.

My friends and I had such a good time. We were 8 total but we had to have 2 separate tables because only up to 6 people were allowed per table. Since we went before the order of restaurants can dine in we were seated outside with tents. I tell you it was nice with its lights and all; but it was definitely cold! Idk why but I’m sure they have a reason but they didn’t have any heaters so we were cold pretty fast and also the food. You had to eat it right away.

So two tables our bill was per table. Our server was very nice. There were two guys, Seung and te amo. They got what we needed and fast. They were efficient and was there every time we needed something which was very nice. We ordered some alcohol and it hit just right. It kept the body warm and nice. So I recommend this place not that inside seating is available but not sure if they can seat more than 6 people so for those going there with a large party, call first just to make sure unless you don’t mind having two tables.

Last night was the first time we came to that excellent restaurant. But It is definitely not the last time. We enjoyed the evening a lot with the good service, with the finest cuisine and booze and with the modest pay. We will surely go back there again.

I have never had a bad experience here! One of my favorite Korean BBQ houses. The staff is very friendly and very attentive.even when it’s busy to the max! They have a great selection of quality meats & drinks. The outdoor seating they set up for post covid is LEGIT! I can’t wait until indoor seating is available again.
