It's a little confusing but the first parking lot you see is for handicapped spots, go in another mile or so for the regular lot near the trailhead. Lots of room and free to park.

It is a large parking lot, but it can be very busy here on weekends. Come early or on a weekday. We were lucky that someone in the very last row of the parking lot was just leaving when we arrived.

Large, convenient parking lot. There is a convenient road leading to the main attraction, the General Sherman redwoods.

Amazing g experience. It is free a free stop after you gain park entre to the national park entree fee do apply.we went in early September the weather was beautiful it even sprinkled a bit.the buss will take u all over the hill from this spot it is in a number of different buss stops on the hill. And returns every 15 minuted on bottom top im sure the same bathrooms out house style dirty and gross! So bring wipes and sanitizer.but the view is the winner the smell of the air the sights you see if you park at the bottom it is handicap only/buss stop the sherman tree is way east to reach from bottom.on top of Hill is general parking 3 their hill side the trip down to the bottom to the sherman is a 215 ft elavation dropdown hill /and a 215 uphill return plenty of places to stop and rest but pleas rest don't hurt your self.bring water, No smoking extreme fire Hazzard, mind cross walks and pleas do not cross the fences or barriers, or feed wild life

It is a spacious parking area, yet you might not get a spot because of rush and crowd! It is recommended to either go on off hours and off days or take shuttle to travel around the park.

As other reviews mentioned. This parking lot is NOT suitable to access the accessible part of the Sherman Trail. There are 19 sets of 3 stairs each.downhill. So if you have a stroller or similar, drop off your party in the accessible parking (a small one to the right of general highway) and then park in the big parking lot. When you are done. Go up again to take your car (uphill) and pick up your party in the accessible parking lot

It's massive!

Estimated to be between 2,200 to 2,700 years old, General Sherman is a giant sequoia tree, located at an elevation of approximately 7000 feet above sea level, in the Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park, California.

There are shuttles that operate seasonally from the Giant Forest parking lot to the trail head. The trail itself is paved. It takes about 15 to 20 mins, one way, from the drop-offpoint to where General Sherman is located. There is another route that is accessible as well.

Definable a must visit if you're exploring Sequoia National Park.

They have a lot of handicap parking spaces. Which is great. Not many you can park in if you are traveling with a senior citizen without a handicap pass.

You can either take a shuttle or drive to a parking lot then do a hike. Several other amazing stops along the way to biggest tree by volume in the world.

This review is for the parking lot, not the actual General Sherman tree. The walk down to the grove from the parking lot is strenuous for some, and be advised, there is a wheelchair accessible access area in another location. If you require accessible facilities, do not park here. Beyond that, the parking lot is fine and the restrooms are clean.

What a beautiful place, with all these huge impressive ancient Sequoia trees. Love to go there again.
