Generals Cafe & Grill

This place is a great place to stop when taking a trip to San Joaquin Valley. Been going for years, even when they changed names. Their food is like a little diner and I prefer it to IHOP or Dennys

Love going to generals cafe. The food is always good and the staff is attentive and friendly.

Perfect roadside diner. Good food, superior staff, cozy and familiar but still unique. A gem in the middle of California’s armpit

The waitress was amazing! She was super kind and friendly. The food, I n c r e d i b l e! From the omelette to the steak and eggs, there ham is a staple! Do not forget the chiles torriados! Only local restaurant that is authentic and hasn’t changed! Def, recommending all family and friends!

Came in to eat after driving for hours. The food was what I expected from a diner, hot and freshly made. Ordered the tri-tip dip sandwich and sweet potato fries. It hit the spot perfectly.

Usually, this place is pretty darn good. However, I ordered the club sandwich w/curly fries today. The sandwich was drier than the Sahara Desert. The meat was sparse. It was horrible! The curly fries were soggy. Well, I guess everyone has a bad day every once in a while.

Unique, private owned, homestyle café. It was clean, decorated, and well-kept. The hostess & waitress were very pleasant & attentive. Food was hot & well prepared. They serve breakfast all day. We had a mixture of both dinner & breakfast plates.

For having a lot of workers today, service was slow. Waitress was more interested in the servers gossip than getting my drink order correct. Then a server brings one plate of food, while we wait for about 10 min for other persons plate. I have never heard of that. They don't come around and check on you, or if you need anything. Instead they group up and gossip, loudly we could hear everything they talked about. Use to be a great place to eat. The final bad experience, they gave my husband a filthy steak knife.

Just stopped for breakfast, we were greeted and sat down when we walked in. Farmer brothers coffee, favorite of mine served in a carafe at the table, cinnamon roll was good, filled me up. Hubby had thr french toast was good. Quick service, clean and friendly. We be on our stop list when we travel through the valley.

6 months later stopped again. Great service, great coffee and my waffle cooked just the way I like!

Nice diner. Ordered an omelette (turkey, spinach, and white eggs), pancakes, and ribeye steak with mushroom. The food was okay.

Great food, always a good time everytime we are there. Whether it's 4 people or 10 or 12 parties. They always accommodate us and we never have to wait for a table.

Service was great. Food was eh.ordered a chile verde omelet. I was basically served a carnitas omelet because there was no chile verde sauce on the plate.

Food is okay. The server was pleasant and helpful. The place needs some updating, though. But if you just wanna have a regular diner experience and chat with the people you're with, I guess it's alright:) Your conversations with your company is more important anyway.:)

Definitely impressed me in every way! I hD the Ribeye steak & Fantail shrimp dinner. It surpassed our expectations! We'll be back soon! Highly recommend!
