The Gold Rush Caramel Almond Sundae was good. The Chocolate Lover's Shake not so much.
The cashier as well as the person preparing the ice-cream were unpleasant and rude.

Just visited the location today, October 16. I must say the service is bad here.

I grabbed a bunch of assorted chocolate bags, so it's $$$. I plan to gift these to our team in another country for my visit this Friday. I grabbed the DIY plastic box with ghirardelli branding so I could split the big assorted bag to three people. As I was lining up to pay, I was approached by one of the staff, a short Asian middle-aged woman, and said I have to put chocolate for the plastic box. I explained to her and she said it's not free and that if I want the plastic box (not even the tin box) she said I'll have to pay I think she said $16 or $18. Mind you, this lady has been eyeing me while I was walking around the store. She definitely made me feel uncomfortable, like I was going to steal chocolates

I told her okay. She then approached the cashier and said something. I then was assisted by the cashier and I explained to the cashier that I'm buying all these chocolates and planning to split one big assorted chocolates to three so I was wondering if I can have this plastic box for free and he straight up said no with a poker face and I asked what about this regular plastic and he was like okay well maybe that one is okay.

At this point, I was just irritated. Customer service is so poor. If I was working here and customers paying $$$$ and asking if they can have the plastic box as comp then I'd be sure off course cause one you want your customers to be happy and two the plastic box has branding which is free marketing.

I never had this issue with the ghirardelli location by Aquatic Park. I've purchased assorted chocolates and asked if i can have the plastic box comp, and they gave it for free because im spending $$$. If I had time today, I would've bought it there, but I have limited time.

I love Ghirardelli, the brand. Love visiting the aquatic location and always order when I'm at the ballpark. It's definitely such an unfortunate experience at this location.
I will never visit this Ghirardelli location.

I got a hot fudge Sunday with cookies and cream ice cream. I was mostly disappointed due to how little ice cream it had. My serving was more whipped cream than anything. The service was quick but the store itself just feels run down.

It is an excellent ice cream shop, with a nice atmosphere, but the prices of the chocolates (double) do not match those in the supermarkets, they are more expensive in the ice cream shop.
The bathroom for clients lacks cleanliness.

Flavious was such a great customer service I appreciate service he presents I am very appreciative. Great employees and great service very clean and managed place.

Ordered the Hot Fudge Sundae. The cherry was tart and sweet. The ice cream was delicious with the fudge. Definitely scoop downward to get a bit of everything in one scoop. Good experience to share with a group, would not recommend one sundae per person unless you're feeling ambitious and hungry. Interior of the location is very cool with a chocolate fountain wall, an old chocolate milling machine, and a large 'G' font that connects from the first floor to the second. Is very busy so it may be a challenge to find a table to sit. Worth a visit as a tourist.

A great place to enjoy having a delicious chocolate while you take a break from the tourist route through San Francisco.

I had their signature ‘hot chocolate fudge ice cream’ and I have to say it was quite average, especially for the price (though it looks v impressive). In my view a good quality gelato place will win any day over quality of ice cream and taste.

I had a "Gold Rush" sundae. Incredibly tasty and not overly sweet like some other sundaes. The espresso was also good by American standards.

A favorite attraction for both locals and tourists, this ice cream shop offers the same signature Ghirardelli sundae you can get at their fisherman's wharf flagship store but without the hour plus wait during rush hour/a hot day. The dark chocolate version is my go to as it offers more complexity which I appreciate. Their gift sets are a nice local treat but quite pricey.

It's Ghirardelli's. What more can I say. Great selection with a 1950's feel

We stopped by after the Pride parade and it wasn't too busy so we decided to try the blended ice creams drinks! They are very tasty but one had an entire chocolate wrapper blended in. When we first pointed it out they kind of shrugged like, yeah it happens, but after I showed them how much plastic was in the drink they agreed to make a new drink. Surprised that wasn't suggested at the start. So, check your drinks for plastic?
