Giovanni's Trattoria reviews
18Delicious Caesar Salad and Pizza very Italian, ask for a sweetened black tea, 15 dollars for a meal.
Ducked in here after a long day of travel. Small neighborhood pizza place. Menu had lots of options but there are a lot of side charges ($. 75 for ranch with a piece of pizza $1.00 for a soda refill) that will add up quickly. Service was good; food came out a little overcooked but timely. Plenty of filling in the stromboli.
Not a good place to dine in. Cold and unfriendly Pizza was subpar had better pizza at little Ceaser. Topping 4 bucks each and pizza was half cheese and half pepperoni and mushrooms. Would not go back
We stumbled upon this place tonight and can’t stop talking about it! Our kids were starving so they cut a cheese pizza by the slice in half and brought it out immediately. We also ordered a large Hawaiian and a Gluten Free pepperoni - DELISH!
Pizza was tasty, salad was fresh, prices are reasonable.
The gentleman at the register even made sure I got my items quick since I was on a lunch break.
Food is terrific. Be ware that there is no bathroom available. The server will tell you you can go across the street to amtrek station, but the station also don't have public bathroom. Recommend to just order take out.
Excellent pizza. Margarita pizza was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. Delivery was 10 minutes ahead of schedule. Would definitely order from here again.
Beef lasagna very good Fettuccine Alfredo yummy. They were willing to vary the Alfredo to suit my friends taste.

Awful pizza, not compared to the italian one but the american one. It’s actually the worst I’ve ever tried.
Service is even worse, they literally laughed at me because of my accent (that is not even that strong anyway).
They don’t have a toilet and I’m sure no one in there is Italian, that place is an actual scam.
Great place for lunch, next to the train station. I had the two slices of Pepperoni and small salad.
Sitting restaurants SHOULD have drinking water. Charging $3 is ridiculous!
Is this even allowed?
Best pizza in the downtown San Diego. They do not skimp on toppings. You get a pizza that has generous toppings. Staff is friendly.
Delicious, and in addition I need to watch my blood sugars and after eating their pizza my blood sugars were still well within normal post-meal levels!
Way over priced terrible pizza - dough was really doughy and not alot of flavor for a margarita pizza and something i've never seen before - you have to pay $1 for a fountain drink refill really.fountain soda is pennies an ounce! And to top it off they won't let you get ice refill either really? ! Wow won't be coming back here again for sure
I was about to buy a couple of slices of pizza and I saw a fly on the exposed pizza. While I was waiting for my turn to order, the workers grabbed multiple time slices of pizza but never got the fly out. I don't know if they didn't notice or if they didn't bother. I decided to walk out from this place.
Online prices are cheaper than in store prices. Why?
The pizza was okay. The crust was thin and surprisingly not crisp and did not have much flavor. The sauce was okay. Cheese wasn't the best but it wasn't horrible. Toppings were sparse but fresh. It took 35 minutes to get a 10-inch thin crust pizza. The cashier never made eye contact and was a bit grouchy. Tables were dirty. It wasn't bad, but given the proximity to Little Italy, there's no reason to go out of your way for it.
Spending a couple days in San Diego and looking for something quick for dinner. Family had the Giovanni Special, which was delicious. Recommend not to miss this place if your looking quick awesome dinner.
I ordered an Italian hero, toasted with vinegar/oil on the side. The bread was burnt in spots and they put the oil/vinegar on the sandwich so that by the time I got home the bread was soggy, just what I wanted to avoid. What little lettuce there was it was not fresh.brown and wilted. Also ordered a 14" pizza. $22 for just cheese. This is not real italian food.
