Went there on 7: 20 am on a Saturday. Found it on Google and wasn't aware of the hype. I really enjoyed the food, the staff and the location. It is absolutely worth a visit but beware: It is expensive for a cafe. Maybe normal expensive for LA but an egg sandwich sets you back 13 dollars, small portion of granola 15 dollars. But they live up to the hype. Definitely recommend.

Be aware that management does not give two shifts about what you think about them or this restaurant. Your waiter or waitress has not been trained to check whatever prejudices, biases, odd ideation, or rude impulses they may have towards you based on your race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, beliefs, disability, economic status, and whether they woke up on the wrong side of bed that day. After you are ignored, insulted, rudely dismissed, etc.after patiently waiting a hour and a half for a sandwich and a beverage to arrive you are handed a bill where the restaurant rewards the awful wait staff a mandatory 20% tip from you for bad service or-in my case-no service. You have been forewarned.

Super cool, trendy cafe. We came from Vancouver and noticed that this place is very popular with fellow tourists and locals alike. Huge line even at off times, but they have a cool system where you take a number and wait if you have a larger order, or join the express line for drinks and small eats.

Very nice patio outside as well, I feel it does a great job of fitting into the surrounding industrial area while expressing some flair and refinement. Would recommend if you’re in the area.

Do not go to this place, it's a rip off they charge you 20% tip without telling you and it's so pricey for a bad quality. Stay away from this place

Used to be good but now it's SUPER overpriced and the food quality has dropped a lot. Plus, they have the NERVE to charge 20% for takeout and wont tell you about it, they will still present the opportunity for you to tip even more and hope you don't notice.

Expensive, but good. They apply a service charge for the express take out orders… the scone & banana bread were both good and of course they have good bread!

Recently, I decided to try a new breakfast place and enjoy a good meal in the morning. I was amazed by the quality and flavor of the dishes the restaurant offered, however, my experience was marred by the terrible customer service I received.

Let's start with the positive, the variety of breakfast options was impressive. Each dish was a delicious culinary gem. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was impeccable. Being a breakfast lover, I was pleased to be able to enjoy such a tasty and satisfying meal.

However, customer service left a lot to be desired. From the moment I entered the restaurant, I noticed a lack of attention and professionalism from the staff. They were slow to greet me, and when they finally served me, it seemed like they were more interested in talking to each other than serving customers. It seemed disrespectful to those of us who had chosen their establishment to enjoy a good meal.

Cute place, good food…. Has outdoor seating that’s perfect to get coffee, eat and read or get some work done.

I challenge you to find anything that's less than excellent. The bread is soft and filling, the coffee is phenomenal, and everything is super fresh and tasty.

This is an honest review from a nonlocal and visitor at this restaurant/ bakery. Our visit was on Saturday morning arriving 9: 40 AM. First and notable, there is no hostess and there is no one to tell you that you need to take a number on the wall and wait your turn to place an order to be seated.as you can imagine at 9: 40 AM the place is chaos with people scattered everywhere waiting for their number to be called. My first observation the restaurant made a point to see if they were posing calling anymore numbers because all of the tables were full outside.they were still allowing people to come up and sit at the tables outside while their partners were waiting to order.there was no one policing the tables. There were 12 numbers ahead of mine (from the point that I finally figured out that I needed to pull a number from the wall and wait my turn to order). It took an hour and 10 minutes before my number was called due to the mismanagement of the tables outside.to their credit I will say they at least have an area. If you just want to come in and order items from the bakery, there is a Express check out.also, to their credit all of the food is amazing and all of the staff outside bringing your food and cleaning tables were very accommodating and we’re all doing an amazing job. Based on the food and the service I would normally get this location a five star review. However, due to the confusion and lack of order upon arrival I am giving an honest four-star review.

The food/bread here is spectacular, but I resent the fact that the owners put a non-negotiable tip on every purchase that I make. If they paid their staff a living wage or just raised the cost of their bread it wouldn't be so infuriating. I don't want to tip someone $2 for handing me a loaf of bread. They're also a credit card only place unless you have exact change. I would eat/shop there more if their policies were not so were not coercive and annoying.

I now only buy my bread at Jyan Isaac Bread on Ocean Park, the bread is just as fantastic, they take cash, and don't forced me to pay a tip for the staff handing me a loaf of bread.

Stay away from this place, they stole your money by charging tip 20% without telling you for a bad quality food and bad services

Like the place, food is good, bread is amazing.

Minus one star because of the outrageous service charge - on top of super high prices - they include for both pickup and dine in - with virtually zero service, waiting in line forever, dirty tables and having to find your own cutlery, water, etc.

Cute space with & great selection of bites! The banana cream pie is the best I’ve ever had.

** AVOID THIS SAD OVERPRICED HOLE IN THE WALL. Used to be a great spot, it's lost its lustre. Everyone who works there looks like they don't want to be there. And that's definitely reflected in the fact that I'm doing you a favor by bringing you the food attitude. But wait I'm charging you a service fee on everything that you order, including to go pastries. Zero common courtesy, sad. Hopefully it closes and we get something new, this place has run its course.

Overhyped place, over priced, nice patio and seems some workers don't wanna be there. If you can charge that much take care of your workers.

Some of the rudest customer service I’ve ever experienced. The ordering process is deeply confusing. I went outside after placing an order and sat down. A server came up to me and my friend and said the table is for people who placed orders and are being served. I expressed that that is what I was trying to do and asked how I transition my order. She said I can go inside and pick up my food and that these tables are not for me. This is how you manage a confused customer who is literally expressing that they are trying to abide by your system and struggling to navigate the chaos you created? Not ok. I later learned there’s seating for take out orders… why didn’t she just tell me that? !
