Glass Arts Collective, Westlake Village CA

My mother and I took the Intro to Glass Fusing class last week and had so much fun that we signed up for the next class 2 days later (which was also a blast!). Nancy is a fantastic instructor who explains the concepts well (but not in excessive detail that leaves you too little time left to create) and gives you the tools to make your visions come alive in glass. She made helpful suggestions at just the right times, frequently introducing me to new tools to make my current glass-cutting challenge less of a challenge, and was very patient throughout the teaching/learning/on-a-roll-creating process. We'll definitely be back.

If you like the look of glass art and have always wanted to try your hand at making it, yourself, I highly recommend this place. It's a fun, very friendly place to learn and work on projects.

BTW, our projects came out amazingly well. I didn't have any particular expectations going into the class. I was excited to learn about glass fusing, but wasn't expecting to make anything spectacular on the first try. But by the end of the class, I was really happy with our work. And after the projects went through the kiln, they looked even better. All the rough edges had been smoothed out, literally and figuratively. We couldn't be happier with the experience!

I took both the introductory class for stained glass and the introductory class for fused glass. The instructors were very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. No previous experience necessary. This studio also has a lot of lovely, original art glass items for sale. I definitely plan on signing up for more classes!

I’ve taken 2 classes with Glass Arts Collective and have loved, loved, loved both of them. I feel that I am not very skilled yet, but I look forward to other classes with Nancy who is amazing. I look forward to learning different aspects about making glass art and I would highly recommend the studio to anybody who is thinking that this is maybe a hobby or a project that they might like to do. It’s a great fun environment and I would highly recommend Glass Arts Collective. Below is my first project.

We LOVE our fused glass classes! Nancy is amazing and has made us feel very comfortable and relaxed in her studio. Although I have never felt I was a creative type of person, somehow I am creating beautiful art and loving the process. Highly recommend!

Lovely place, lovely owner. Great gifts for yourself and others! Nice price range. The place is energetic and comfortable. Can't wait to go back to see what's new.and what I probably missed the first time.
