Gold Coast transported me from a hospital to a nursing home. The transport was ordered by the hospital and I was taken by stretcher and bed bound before and after the trip. I met all 3 requirements Medicare has to pay the claim. But the claim was NOT paid; I get letter saying it was a PRE-COLLECTION letter, but when I called I was told it was already sent to collection. I called Medicare to see why the claim was not paid and told the claim was submitted with a note stating it was unsure if the transport was medically necessary. I called billing at Gold Coast and asked why they would do that; they said they did not receive a letter from the hospital; I asked why no one called the hospital to ask for the letter or confirm medical necessity, OR contact me so I could call the hospital before submitting the claim in a manner they knew would be denied; I was told it was not their job. I worked in the insurance industry for 30 years and I WOULD NEVER SUBMIT A CLAIM KNOWING IT WILL BE DENIED WHEN A QUICK CALL TO THE HOSPITAL WOULD GET THE INFORMATION NEEDED TO INSURE THE CLAIM WAS PAID! NEVER! In most cases you are not the person that orders transport. If someone orders transport for you, make sure they provide a letter to the transport company confirming medical necessity. Don't trust Gold Coast to have your back.

My experience has been this company will pick up a mentally ill person take them to the hospital and then bill them $4800 for that trip while the person with schizophrenia has no idea that they’re going to be sending a bill. Not good ethics in my book.

I never been in an ambulance let alone in California. They are doing fraudulent billing, sending bills to collections when I’ve never even heard of this company. I’m taking legal action now

Give them a zero better off calling taxi or uber for service. You would think when one is in a situation to call 911 and request medical treatment you might feel some comfort that paramedics/professionals are now treating your loved one. When I show up at hospital find my loved one in a wheel chair unattended, not monitored, never seen a doctor and writhing in pain.literally dropped off at the front door of hospital and left, no words to express my anger over their unprofessional treatment.

This company engages in double billing an outright Fraud!
i stated to them to NOT provide ANY service to me if my medi medi insurance does not cover the service.they are claiming i owe them $165.00 for what? They never asked me to pay them and just reported a negative credit report.
