Golden Flower Restaurant reviews
13 Went here after waking the streets looking for somewhere to eat. It was busy but they cleared a table for us to sit at. Lots of choice available. We chose Veg Spring Rolls, Beef Chow Fun and 5Spice Chicken. Rolls were delicious as was the ChowFun but the Chicken was quite bland and uninspired. We were serves a pot of hot tea that was free. Very friendly staff who were busy serving constantly. Would go back again and have the soup which was what everyone else seems to be having around us. Those bowls were MASSIVE.
Enjoyed it and would revisit. Excellent value for money.
This is not a Vietnamese restaurant. Poor food, poor service, poor atmosphere. We ordered the egg rolls (which came out as deep fried spring rolls), the shrimp and pork rolls (which only had shrimp, no pork), the Kung Pao Chicken (absolutely no Sichuan chilli) and the prawn with cashew nut (which was cooked in oyster sauce…. The same sauce as the Kung Pao chicken…. Both dishes tasted exactly the same). The photos & video support all.
To add more insult, the bill was more expensive than what we ordered…. To be told the menu we were given and ordered off …. Was the lunch menu, not the dinner menu
Unexpected Waiting time for food pickup like 30 minutes 40 minutes…. Time is very important but They doesn’t manage the time for making the food.and also server is very rude
Best PHO in Chinatown for the price. Only negative thing is that they don’t give as much meat as before in their PHOs.
Still decent for the price that you pay.
Very unsatintary experience, their bathroom and kitchen will make you regret everything you eat. We saw they washed with soap but never rinsed before serving.
I have come to this restaurant many times and always impressed me! Everyone is so nice and respectful. I recommend the pho
Festive lunar New Year decor immediately greets diners upon entry — a novel photo opp in the heart of Chinatown.
The pho checks the box for standard goodness, but doesn’t quite make a 5 of 5. Noodles perfectly cooked, the broth however lacking depth. Still, a good option in the neighborhood when seeking flavors Southeast Asian
Never coming back. I still wouldn't come if it was free. The service was strange, very strange. They all side eyed us as we sat down. Kept staring at us whilst we are, thought someone had just died. Very average food and drinks tasted terrible. I have no idea why this restaurant is rated 4.2 stars.
We ate well, in good quantity, but not simple little elaborated. Not very warm welcome. Very fair price,
Food:
I ordered a large beef pho. It came with a pot of hot tea and toppings. Inside the bowl was a TON of rice noodles and a small amount of beef that was already cooked by the time it got to me. The broth was very hot, but rich and balanced. Those watching their sodium probably need to be careful with it though. They use the same broth for all of their Pho
I definitely could/should have ordered a medium instead, and I wish it had more substance in terms of added ingredients. Regardless, I'm sure I'm extra hydrated now!
Gluten free:
All except 1 Pho option is gluten free
All of their drinks are gluten free, but only the coffee and lemonade drinks can have the sugar amount adjusted.
Service:
They were unloading things, including a trash bin, from the street through the restaurant during open hours (10: 30am), though I was probably their first dine-in customer of the day.
Atmosphere:
Very cute Chinese decor. I would have liked some background music.
Their cell phones rang and had alarms go off when I was there at 10: 40am
Bathroom: they have a bathroom in the store. The path doesn't look clean, but the restroom is clean.
Tourists: Apparently the few customers they get before 11 am are usually tourists. I understood that they get a lot of local workers around the lunch rush.
Great authentic Vietnamese food options for vegetarians in San Francisco!
delicious vegetarian pho noodle soup (#92) with fresh veggies, bok choy, crisp tofu, and i have to mention how gigantic this soup is! Get it to go and make it two meals for $13.the broth has a good spice and i even added a little sriracha.note: pho chay is not under the vegetarian menu section but its #92
i highly recommend #126 also, the crispy vegetarian rolls.awesome location right in the heart of chinatown.moderately priced for the portion sizes.very nice, humble little dining room with cute plants and decor.quick service with tea on the table when you arrive.definitely going to get some phò next time I'm sick.can't wait!
edit: went back and ordered 136 Vegetarian Delight and was not blown away.very simple dry noodles with tofu and brocolli. If that’s your thing, its a giant portion! If not, go for the soup instead
Loved the portion sizes because i always feel like i can’t finish my soup. Had dinner here with my boyfriend and it was peaceful
