One of the best days I’ve had in a while! Definitely suggest renting a bike and having a day in the city. We had some trouble on the bridge and Bigyan came out right away to assist us. After assisting us he took us on a little detour back to the bike shop. I would 100% recommend renting from here. Great customer service and such a fun experience.

It was great biking along the shore, across the Golden Gate Bridge and beyond. The bikes are new models and well maintained. A great way to explore the city and surrounding area.

My flight got delayed 12 hours so I figured why waste a sunny day. I had my carry on luggage with me but found this spot only a 7 min walk from the BART and called in. Manager said I could keep my carry on there and he gave me an unbelievable hybrid bike that was way faster than the shops near the piers. Cheap prices for half day and I never had a better time in SF. He also gave me some hot spots for food and his favorite places to travel to. Very pleasant and generous given my chaotic change of plans. I will 100% be coming back to this store when I return here. A+

Bigyan was extremely kind, professional, and accommodating when we had issues. We rented a set of e-bikes for two months and the price was extremely reasonable and cheaper than most competitors. Go Golden Gate Rides!

Was supposed to get my rental bike yesterday at 2: 00pm but when I showed up the door was locked and nobody was there. Called multiple times no one answered. But eventually received a message to meet at 3: 30pm and I followed up to confirm but didn’t get any reply back until 5: 14pm, by the time I already changed my plan and rented from other bike rental place.

It would’ve been worse if I just stayed around and wait for them to reply and show up.

2 stars are for the quick refund they issued today.

Great experience and excellent bikes. Bigyan is very helpful and knowledgeable of the city and culture. He’ll give you the best experience based on your schedule and desires. Very responsive.within minutes, if not immediately. Had a chain pop on one of our bikes going up one of the many steep hills and he was literally there within a few minutes with a replacement bike. My bike was awesome going fast as heck down hill and easy pedaling uphill. Biking the SF area to get to those picturesque locations, the excellent eateries, or to relax at one of the many parks is a must do and this is the best place to start. Highly recommend Bigyan and Golden Gate Rides on O’Farrell. THE Best!

Booked weeks ago to pick up a road bike at 0630. E-mailed, phoned and tried to contact loads of times to discuss details but never a response. Just turned up now and the place is locked up and dark. Not answering either of the phone numbers posted in the door.

Owner’s response to this is misleading. The website says shut Tuesday and Wednesday (not Thursday) and I’ve still not been refunded. The only response I’ve had is to this review and this was posted after I had turned up in the dark to find a locked up shop. No apology.

I booked on Nov 2019 an electric bike.which was not available (in fact no electric bike are currently in rent but they don't update their website). So they proposed to switch to a hybrid bike and get a refund for the price gap.
Edit: I finally received the refund 3 weeks later, so raising evaluation to 3/5.

Great place to rent a bike. Super friendly, they take the time to make sure you get the right bike for you. Rented road bikes from them twice, both times was a great experience. Can’t recommend highly enough, I wouldn’t rent from anywhere else.

After reading the reviews on all bike rental shops in SF, this one had the best, and they sure delivered when we rented today! Polite, genuine, great service, quality bikes prepped well and when we asked about sightseeing the team drew the landmarks and the route to take on a map for us. We'd definitely recommend and would rent from them again!

Really friendly staff, gave us good tips on bike routes. We even got a free bottle of water before and after the bike ride.

Wir haben eine ca 30 Meilen lange Tour mit den E-Bikes unternommen (Golden Gate Park, Baker Beach, Golden Gate Bridge, Hawk Hill, Sausalitos) für die wir ca. 6 Stunden benötigt haben (inklusive Fotostops). I can't say enough good things about my experience renting a bike for a half day! Bigyan set me up on a great bike, at a great price. He gave me advice on my route and just bent over backwards to make me happy. I had a truly unforgettable experience on my ride and Bigyan was a big part of the reason! Will definitely recommend this to my co-workers and friends!

These people were great. We rented comfortable hybrid bikes of high quality. A little pricier than others but worth it.

I haven't tried any other bike rental shop in SF, but I'm certain that Golden Gate Rides Bike Rental is among the best: 1) super welcoming, knowledgeable & friendly staff. 2) well-maintained & high quality bikes without any branding that makes you look like a tourist ;). 3) free water, nap, helmet and phone strap.

Will rent again from here! You should too.

My friend and I went to San Francisco and only had a day to see the sites so we reserved two bikes. Miguel gave us great information on where to ride to make sure we saw everything. It was a great way to get around and Miguel was super helpful.
