Golden Wave Surf School, Venice CA

We got into a group class on very short notice. You are only going to progress so much as a novice day 1 and these guys are competent to teach well beyond that level. I thought they had a friendly manner and an urgency to get us as many rides as possible. Beginners on a budget can’t beat it.

Tod and Alex were the absolute best! This was our first time surfing ever and they made it a blast. It was the best price in area for sure! And they were so accommodating and relaxed. And then Tod had the perfect balance in teaching technique and just letting us have some fun on our own. 100% the best place to go.

Went surfing for the first time with a couple of friends and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Alex was able to teach us the fundamentals extremely well while also letting us have fun on our own when we got the hang of things. He was also very flexible and accommodating. 10/10 if you’re looking for a budget friendly surfing lesson.

I took a surf lesson and it was an great experience. Todd was my instructor, he was very knowledgeable, encouraging, and helpful. I had a great time and will take another lesson in the future.

Came here to try surfing for the first time really ever. Have already progressed greatly since starting and have been able to get up on waves after two lessons. Alex knows what he is preaching, and his school is a great place to get your surfing foundation. Would recommend strongly!

I full in love in Surfing. I was absolutely terrified to do it but Alex made me feel extra comfortable. He was super supportive and patient of me as we were in the water and better yet I was able to ride a lot of waves by the end! I had such a blast and am so happy. Alex was great! Very knowledgeable and friendly. He had our entire group riding waves within minutes. He was care about each of us it make me feel save. He tailors the lesson to each individual so everyone can progress at their own rate. If you want to learn surfing with a personal touch I would definitely recommend Alex and his surf school.

I booked a lesson at last minut but had no problem in getting lessons. And after year of surfing without instruction I do feel I now surf with better control under my body and feeling of the board. I look forward to surfing with you again
