Goldorado Animal Hospital reviews
20The place is a rip off the people that work there are nice enough but the business end is a rip off they are a corporation and all they care about is money, different vet every time, no familiarity at all with the dog, the place is just plain and simple a rip off
I'm so happy that I was referred to them. They made you feel so welcome as soon as you walk in the door. Gave us so much info & answered any questions we had.
I had two extensive interactions with different doctors and staff in the same week, due to my dogs complications, and with everyone i met i was impressed and my dog was treated with care and respect. I strongly recommend this practice to anyone with pets they treat.
I have always had great experiences at Goldorado. From my special needs pittie to my one eyed Pekingese mix they are always there to educate and help me take care of my babies the best way I can.
I took my Rottweiler there for an emergency appointment and from the very start they have been nothing but very professional and very kind. I highly recommend them and Dr. Gerst.
Called to get a price to have our kittens spayed. The person that answered was super rude to me and then quoted a price of $662. I asked if she misheard what I had asked for because that seemed extremely high and she said no that was a ballpark price and until they had examined my girls she couldn't tell me exactly how much it would be. I asked how much an initial exam would be and was told $68.95 just to bring them in. My son had also been calling around and happened to accidently call them as well. He was told it would cost anywhere from $200-$400 for a spay and an initial exam would be between $65-$95. Needless to say we will not be taking our girls there, they seem super shady!
I've only started coming here, it is a very nice facility. They were very understanding on clearing the room so my reactive dog can come in. Dr. Miller and her techs were super nice and gentle. It is nice to find a force free vet close by. I was able to request a report card of what was done at my visit so I can keep up my records, so I was thankful for that.
We have been MILKED FOR MONTHS by this place for every dime they can get outta us!
We take our dog in for a treatment and they do something different and don't even treat the problem then refuse to give us a prescription for us to order medical through chewy.com so they can overcharge us each time
Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND taking your pets here unless u wanna fork out way more money than you should have to and never once have they fixed the issue, now they want another $420 to diagnose after we have been in there at least 7xs
They are so wonderful with my cat Asher, I would recommend them to anyone who was looking for a vet:)
I've been coming to this hospital for over 10 years but now sadly, I will be looking for another vet. Things just haven't been the same since Dr. Barnes retired. There are just too many people and confusion. Every time I call I am put on hold for a long time, then I am told they will need to call me back. Can't seem to get a timely appointment and have been told to go to an emergency vet during their regular hours. I have had to follow up several times for prescription refills for Chewy and others. Then when I call, they can't find the prescriptions in their system. I can no longer rely on them. I had to have my dog euthanized last week and have been waiting for his remains to be sent out for cremation. There have been issues with a simple form for the urn engraving. NO one has followed up as his remains sit in their freezer! I have had to call twice now to find out what was going on.
Had to wait 40min in 93+ degree heat for a 10 min visit. Terrible empathy for rescue dogs and high costs.
The techs and veternary doctors were and have been amazing with helping navigate this scary terrain with our kitty.
This clinic is fantastic— everyone is friendly, professional, and clearly love animals. It’s also very clean. We take our five cats there. I appreciate that the docs and techs never seem to be rushing even when it’s quite busy. They treat owners with respect and explain the technical aspects of conditions and treatments. So glad to have found this clinic.
Got an almost immediate appointment for my dog to have his teeth cleaned, three days. Evaluation visit and treatment all on the same day, no extra cost for an eval appointment and then again for the treatment. I was very happy with the staff and the treatment. Much better pricing than a dental specialist in Sacrament that we used previously.
My dog was scheduled to get her vaccines and a physical. I assumed she’d be given all of her vaccines, given it was an appointment for vaccines, except one wasn’t given that was overdue. I called Goldorado animal hospital and was told there was no reason the overdue vaccine wasn’t given along with the others. I was told I could “just swing by” and she would get the other vaccine however I do not live close. Goldorado Animal Hospital is way out of my way which is why I scheduled to have all of her vaccines done in one visit.
This occurrence leaves me with concerns that things in the future will get missed in my dog’s care.
I contacted Goldorado about the issue and my frustration but they didn’t care to contact me back.
I’ll take my business elsewhere.
They showed compassion and empathy to me and my cat who spent the last moments of her life here. They made sure she was comfortable and were gracious in giving her a compassionate and quick passing.
I am so very glad I went to Goldorado, the staff was quick to help and were so very kind. They helped me and my young daughter Deal with nearly losing our cat, but thanks to everyone at Goldorado our cat is home and making a full recovery
Sadly after over 10 years of being a loyal customer to this vet office we will be looking for a new vet because of the uprising costs and unprofessional office manager who has no heart, relies on guilt trips of full payment or no treatment that has everything unnecessary on the bill so they can get more money. I didn't have a problem with it being charged for an ER visit if it was after hours but it wasn't but what broke the "camel" back was the $95 charge to shave the dog's behind. We personally think they are too pricey and care more about money than people being able to have vet care for their pets especially those on limited incomes. Greed will be your downfall as it has in the past.
We were already taking our puppy to Goldorado for his routine veterinary care, but needed to get him in for an urgent visit after he got into and ate a ton of compost. Sarah answered the phone and was super helpful and was able to get us in for an appointment within 20 minutes of my calling! Jack absolutely adores everybody at Goldorado and, even after being made to vomit and being given fluids, he was wiggly and happy to spend time with his "friends". They were similarly accommodating and quick when my cat suddenly started peeing blood and our former veterinary office wasn't able to get us in for almost a week! They answered all of our questions, thoroughly went over lab-work and test results, and called to check in on Percy the next day. When I mentioned she was still having some discomfort, the tech immediately spoke to the doctor and got her prescribed some medication to help. We are very very pleased with the service we have received!
They were able to determine the root of my cats issues within the first day, in fact within a couple hours. They were able to save him and give great care and will continue to guide us on his future care as well. I'm thankful for Dr. Miller and her team.
