Gold's Gym, Culver City CA

Terrible experience. I came to make a free pass and get to know the unit with my wife, and the attendant Daniel Silva embarrassed us and did not let us do our free pass because we did not have proof of residence in hand. We showed our bank statement address and they didn't accept it. We have been living here for a short time and we have our bank with the California address and he said it was not valid. That's absurd. Because paying the daily rate they do not ask for any kind of proof of residence. In other words, your receipt is your payment. Misleading advertisement for 1 week of free pass. Extremely disappointed with this team and I advise no one to train in this unit. ZERO NOTE

It really saddens me to have to write this. Most of the staff here are really nice and the equipment is clean, but I encountered a really rude blonde lady at the front desk on the weekend. I don't know if she is new because I had never met her before, but I had such a horrible experience with her I was shocked that management hired someone with such a terrible attitude.

Small but clean. Configured quite nicely in the Westfield mall courtyard. Gym is clean, machines very well kept and not too crowded.

Recently visited however noticed the change of manager and do not like what i’m seeing so far… he is very strict and hard on the workers.the environment isn’t the same and I’ve heard they’ve been firing the people there over small inconveniences.disappointed

Staff are great, but the facility needs improvement. Gym is always way too crowded to get a good workout in. Realistically, the gym would need to be 2x as big to comfortably accommodate the amount of people that are there.

They charged me even after being told they won't. Called to get refund and got run around. Very frustrating. I definitely would NOT recommend this gym for several reasons but my biggest issue is my money.

Equipment is old and outdated. An overwhelming majority of treadmills that don’t get used vs one squat rack. I watched a potential client wait at the front desk for about 10 minutes before the male staff members that were having a conversation with each other noticed. It wasn’t until someone let the lady know. Lastly it’s a small gym. Avoid if you can ‍️

This golds gym location is really chill. The front desk workers, erick, rubi, saul, and nick always treat you nice. Any time I go here either afternoon or night, I get welcome with so much hospitality and the cool thing about this location (unlike dtla) it could be slightly packed but you're still able to find the weights you need for your workout and get something done. You might wait (the most) 10-15 min to use a bench, machine, or weight, but that's about it.

I also want to add that in certain days and times the gym can be slightly empty by the time its 8 or 8: 30pm which is a extreme plus (unlike other locations at that time). Overall this golds location is really chill and good to workout at:)

Watch out, they add up charges to your CC even when they say they won't. Signed up & paid in December during a promotion they had, being assured I could cancel in a month if I didn't enjoy it. I ended up calling to cancel in January as I was traveling and was told that I could put it on freeze instead, with NO charge, so I complied. After putting on freeze, I kept being charged and called in to have that refunded, twice, and still got no refund. I called to cancel and was given another phone number to call. I called again to request my refund and gave my number so the store manager could get back to me but was never called back. This is very unprofessional and disregard for the customer. When I am back I will be going with another gym.

To crowded and can't even use equipment due to people just sit with their phones, so basically your paying to see people sit and be on there phones

Good deal for the price. Lots of equipment options. Really really want them to have longer hours on the weekend. Stupid that it closes at 4pm.

I love this place, but it is SO HOT all the time in here. There is no air circulation. No fan. Please fix! (:

Nice gym but very small and no sauna in women’s locker room. Free parking which is a plus and people don’t usually hogg equipment or machines for long. The employees seem nice I haven’t really had much experience with them but at least they always make sure to greet me and wish me a good day when I leave. I wish they had a sauna for women’s because that would be a game changer for me. Overall not a bad gym and it’s not as dirty as other gyms I have been to around town.

After years of being a member and having built great relationships with the team and members, a new trainer by the name of Austin Lapensohn has come in and totally destroyed the golds gym experience for me and my friends. He goes above and beyond to make me and my friends feel uncomfortable. Another member even saw him taking photos of us working out the other day. His behavior is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. I've emailed corporate about this and will be looking into filing a formal complaint as no one should be harassed, for any reason especially by an employee of brand built on motivating and inspiring it's community.

UPDATE! So after addressing issues of harassment by a new employee by the name of Austin with their VP Troy Richardson, the company has done absolutely NO investigation into my claims and has decided to revoke my membership. This employee has made several other female members feel the same way, and now will feel justifiably so by the actions of Gold's gym. It's absolutely appalling! To make matters that much more unprofessional, they could not even directly address my issues but rather sent me a generic text message through their messaging system. This is after speaking directly with their VP who assured me they valued my membership, and would look into this.

I was a long time member who added value to that gym by promoting their brand, bringing new members and always motivating those around me. I will definitely be sharing my experience as much as possible so that this person doesn't continue to harass others, and that this gym knows what kinda atmosphere it's creating for it's members.

I really like this gym.you can use all the machines and weights no matter the time, I go at night and there are always machines and weights available

I love this place. Way nicer than LA fitness. Usually it stays pretty quiet and clean and the staff is polite. Love that they don't announce over and over when the gym is closing like LA fitness. Just wish they had later hours but otherwise it's a great place

I belonged to the Golds Gym in Venice for 25 years and let my membership lapse during the pandemic. When it came time to rejoin-their rates were so much higher than what I had been paying that I decided to check this location out.
I love it! The staff are so friendly and helpful. They always greet you and say goodbye and to have a nice day. Plus the gym smells nice-not like sweat the has baked in for 25 years at Golds Venice.
I don't miss the original Golds at all. I like Golds Culver City much more (the only thing I do miss is live classes but they just don't have the space)

Great team, and a special shout out to Nic and Andrea! They were both cordial and very helpful, granting me day passes to workout during my vacation as a Gold's Gym member from out of state.

Front desk is honestly lazy and doesn’t care about the sanitization of the place. Women's bathroom is constantly a mess with toilet paper all over the floor, paper towels missing from the holder, toilet paper missing from the holder but instead sitting on the floor because staff didn’t want to put it in the holder, you can see grime in the toilet bowls and crevices of the bathroom. It’s gross honestly. Addressed this to the front and the girl literally said with attitude “i don’t know what you want me to do I’m the only one here”. I get it I’ve worked at a gym before too but it’s a Sunday and you were on your phone so it’s not that busy you just don’t want to do it.

Good gym, great machines, great staff but there operating hours suck! I think they should stay open late till midnight. Can you please extend the hours till Midnight. I need that late workout.
