Gold's Gym, Montclair CA

This Gold’s Gym has some stringent policies in effect. Unlike other Gold’s Gym that permit customers to bring friends and allow them to stay even if the customer departs first, this gym follows a distinct set of rules. They maintain a zero-tolerance policy and may contact the authorities if someone lingers inside after their accompanying customer leaves. This lack of flexibility in their approach can give the impression that customers and potential clients are handled with a level of inflexibility that may not be considered ideal. The customer service experience at this gym leaves much to be desired.

I would not recommend this gym to anyone. Numerous machines are often in disrepair, and the pool frequently appears dirty with what seems to be an oily film on the surface. The employees here are not friendly; in fact, they can be very rude. Overall, it's not a place I would recommend due to these issues.

I remember it being a bodybuilding gym my pops went to in the 80's, Gold Gym in Orange. Still better the 24 hour.

One word scam and rubbers, I never saw gym disrespectful like them first they lie to us by offering something in our membership and later we find totally different then what we sign up for, then i was with my wife at the gym and one of the men workers enter the restroom at my wife without check if someone inside or not, when i moved the situation to daveon wood the general manager and i asked to cancel without charge me next month mostly that I’m giving them the notice at the beginning of the gym after all what happened with me he said no we will charger you next month so I advise anyone don’t go to this gym

One of the best fitness Gym I have ever been to! Best of all, the coaches and members are down-to-earth and just good people. I will remain at the Gold again basically due to Real Results.

Worst gym ever. Warning they don’t let you cancel your membership and continue to charge you. They make you call and number to cancel. I called to cancel and they never canceled it. They kept charging my account and I called to let them know about the charges and they said they never canceled it therefore you’re still liable for fees or they will send you to collections. When it was clear that the representative clearly didn’t do his job on canceling the membership. They lie about the promotions when you refer people, they do not honor them. They have you going in circles, so don’t waste your time here.

There is a shower in the men's room that has been closed for a long time because the drain is not working well, the knob shower are not working properly, there are many exercise machines that do not work properly the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired, the pool is not heated I do not recommend this place.

This is a place that I do not recommend to anyone, many machines do not work well, one of the men's showers has not worked for months due to poor drainage, the shower knobs work badly, the pool has not been warm enough for a long time. If you want to catch a lung disease, please enter the sauna, the rules are not clear for its use. It’s a GHETTO PLACE.

Made my kid give them my credit card number. Would not cancel the membership? Charge me after I canceled. Only was there for 1 hour. Was supposed to be a thirty day free trial. Would not recommend anybody going to this gym. Scam rip off. We'll be getting my lawyers involve

Terrible gym not clean, and constant homeless are given membership. I signed up for a real gym down the street called Claremont Club. Costs x4 more but night day compared to this dump. If you actually use the facility that would be cheap for you. Oh and I tried to cancel today after 2 years and they said I have to call some number and jump through a million ropes to cancel. Currently at my bank changing my card number. Total garbage company! Go ahead pay for a membership to shower, share the lockers, and pool with the lovely homeless of Montclair. Hahaha enjoy

Pro Tip: Get the “LOWEST” Membership!

Thought this gym would be better… Not only are there broken lockers but even equipment is breaking. In the picture a guy is using a machine without the padding because it’s not fixed and for awhile now. The Free weight machines don’t have enough plates so you have to hunt for plates off of other machines. Thought this gym would be better equipped and maintained. Makes you wonder where does the Annual $49 Facility Fee each members pays goes to

Aside from that you got to deal with all the Kids who sit on the equipment with their phones like it’s a phone booth… If you’re the type that like to get a work out in and leave… this won’t work for ya!

A kid was sitting on the floor in his pajamas not using a machine while on his phone and said he was saving the machine for his friend who went to the bathroom…This is what you have to deal with

There should be an orientation when members sign up…Gym etiquette is lost!

Items in my locker were stolen. My locker had my own lock. This gym is known for having this type of criminal activity, and the city of Monclair is aware of the activities when I informed the employees of the gym what happened to my items that were stolen out of my lock locker, they acted as if they did not care. They called the police and told me that they were on their way for me to follow report only to find out that they never called the police after I called the police myself they lied they were unprofessional disrespectful, the employees I’m speaking of.they have the person on video who stole my items because he is a member of the gym or the person he went to the gym weird allowed him to have access to the gym which they should be held accountable as well. The gym is doing so much to try to prevent justice, as they have not reached out to me and I had to reach out to them multiple times asked for justice for their employee lying to a customer who pays for a gym membership and all they could do is offer me is a unwelcome apology.this gym is the worst gym I ever been a part of speaking with other gym members, they have informed me that this gym has so many criminal activities that they have not done anything to justify or fix the issue. Even the officer who took my report stated she was just up here multiple times for the same crime.

Saturday Jun, 3,2023. Supposed to be open at 7am and guess what! Its 7: 29am and no one here! Allot of us just here wasting our time!

This guy John is saying false accusations about me he is the manager. He is harassing me an my friends an lot off people complain about him an he is still working there. I have a disability I was born with learning disabilities an he's saying false accusations about me he needs to stop.

I've recently returned to this gym and didn't realize how much I miss exercise classes. It is wonderful to get my body moving and follow directions. I love most the Aqua Fit class. Marta is a wonderful instructor, she has shown up even when fighting food poisoning, changes up the routine regularly to make it fun and interesting and makes an effort to learn every participant's name. Her mother's day she made an extra effort and got everyone in attendance. A. She is great instructor and makes me want to come in on a regular basis! Shout out to Marta!

I had a wonderful experience with the sign up process Jon and Matthew were very helpful in signing me up for the type of membership that I wanted. They let me know about discounts and came across as good friends.

My wife and I live only one mile away from Gold’s Victoria Gardens, yet most of the time we choose to drive to Gold’s Montclair their layout open space, exercise equipment friendly helpful staff and organize clean gym is much appreciated. We highly recommend Gold’s Gym Montclair to anyone seeking to improve quality of life health and live longer.

4/2/23 Update: there's mold in the men's showers, black mold! Seriously?
The workers are friendly, equipment is in good shape, but the locker rooms and pool is a whole different deal. The pool is super chlorinated. The locker rooms and nasty.
