Place known for its dim sum and other buns. Incredible value for money ($15 for 4)
The dim sum are huge and by 3. The pork bun is lacquered.
Expect to queue for a long time (30-45 min easy if 15-20 people in front of you) and the welcome is unfussy in a rush to order.
At this price, don't expect haute cuisine, but it really does the job.

They usually have a queue, since this place is quite popular. I visited around 8: 30am and just waited 15 min. They have very fresh dim sum with amazing prices.
I asked to just get one piece (instead of 3) in order to try different ones. The sesame balls are perfectly crispy outside and have a super chewy shell. Same goes for the fried meat dumplings, which I would definitely recommend. The rice cake is almost silky smooth.

It's worth going to when you want to solve a meal for about $5 as a substitute for McDonald's. It's cheap and it's okay, but it's not the taste to eat in line. It's an absolute no-brainer! This store should be out of business.

It's worth going to here when you want to have a meal with about $5 instead of McDonald's. It's okay because it's cheap, but it's never the taste to eat in line. The Chinese lady staff was so rude, so I couldn't understand why I was treated like this even though I paid for their food after waiting in line! I can never recommend here. A store like this should go bust.

Make sure you prepare before you come in, check out the menu and have menu numbers ready. We got here on Friday, around 11 am and spent about 30 min in the Q. Two ladies working took their sweet time taking orders. They were not rude, just slow. Once it was our turn we ordered #1 (pan fried scallion cake), 9 (baked BBQ pork bun), 10 (baked scallion bun), 16 (egg custard tart). My favorite was #1, wish I took more of those. You can't beat the price and it's fresh and delicious. Wish I ordered more items. I'll definitely stop by again if I'm back in SF.

Legendary dimsum place. Soooo inexpensive and perfect for a quick bite to bring to the park or take home a feast. Everything packs and travels fairly well so long as you eat within the hour or so. Ordered shrimp crepe roll, Har gow, Shumai, turnip cake, shark fin dumpling, sticky rice with pork, sesame balls, bbq baked buns and egg tarts.

The line was a good hour wait and we arrived around 10am. They move as quick as they can and service is as good as I'm gonna get without speaking their language. For all the food we got it was like $30 which I would consider inexpensive for 2 people in SF. Worth a visit and if you're a local, worth trying everything on the menu at least once.

Best priced dim sum I've seen and it is soooooooo tasty! Upon arriving, there was a line out the door, but it moved very quickly and wait was only about five minutes. My husband and I got enough for lunch and dinner for $30. You can easily get full for $5 or $6 which is almost unheard of these days. The place is pretty tiny inside and is take out only. When we first got back to our car I was initially concerned that we weren't given any kind of sauce but that worry was relieved at my first bite. Cannot wait to return.

(Take out only) The food was worth waiting in line for 15 minutes. The only downside was that half of the choices on the menu were unavailable by the time we ordered. Make sure you go early to have the chance to order what you want!

Delicious savory or sweet dim sum buns! I queued for 50mins though.bit tedious! However, they were inexpensive and worth the wait. Good choice of products available.

Oh man. This place is an institution but the service is so bad. There’s the stereotype of asian places being known for bad service but this place really takes the cake, if you know what I mean. I even speak Cantonese so it’s not like there’s a language barrier.

They do now take credit cards but only begrudgingly. Just bring cash. I don’t know about you but my self-esteem can’t take the pain from their withering looks of disappointment when you show them your card. I get enough of this from my mother.

They wear gloves, which is great… but food, tongs, money, EVERYTHING is all handled with the same gloved hands, which is…

And the dim sum is honestly… just okay. It’s nostalgia, the hive mind, and the general love of street food that keeps me coming back. Is it the best dim sum I’ve ever had? No. Is it the best dim sum I’ve ever had on this street? Also no.

And yes, this is street food. Strictly takeout, no tables. Food is unceremoniously dumped into clear plastic bags. God help you if you need utensils. The last time they practically threw a fork at me. I’ll just bring my own next time.

But it’s not all bad. My favourite is their “Ham Sui Gok” which is their Deep Fried Glutinous Rice Meat Dumpling. In childhood, I lovingly called these “footballs” like many fellow children I’m sure. These have a crispy shell when you bite in, a chewy inner layer from the glutinous rice, and the filling is meaty and savoury.

Their egg tarts are good too but always seem to be out.

Prices are reasonable but please make sure you have exact change. Too many times I’ve been shorted when paying cash but it’s so busy that you just don’t want to make a fuss and you just let it go (see: the withering looks).

Siu Mai has a taste of smelly pork, baked char siew and scallion pancake are very thick with not enough flavour. Would not recommend to friends visiting SF, not worth queuing for bad food

The line moves quickly. The staff was efficient and quick.

The prices are really inexpensive. The quality and taste are outstanding. The food was hot. No wonder there are long lines. It is worth waiting.

A must visit in Chinatown!

After waiting for over 50 mins in line on a weekday around noon, we finally got to order our takeaway dimsums and baked pork buns which were pretty good. Not sure worth waiting an hour in line though.

Honestly very underwhelmed. Sure the price is great but the actual items themselves are disappointing, the line ups are long and most of the popular items get sold out past 12pm.
Got the Chinese donut, custard bun and winter melon cake and all three were pretty stale; especially the donut which was just oily and hard.
Unless you’re really on a budget and don’t mind the wait I would just walk elsewhere.

Very convenient take out dim sum. Line was out the door when I went. Had the standard pork dumpling, shrimp dumpling and steamed BBQ buns. They were out of the deep fried meat. It worked for a quick take out for a picnic, wouldn't say it's the best but it's also not a bad price. Ladies working the day I went were very friendly.take out only not dine in area.

We got a recommendation to go and it was very good and tasty! Queue for about 10 minutes… but queue means: must be good? ! We bought our lunch … dumplings… BBQ pork bun… etc

If you like affordable, tasty dimsum that you can take to go anywhere you want to eat, this is the place to go! Yummy on my tummy! Easy on my pocket. Sit by the street the park or anywhere you like and enjoy dimsum!
We gave a tip to our server and she gave us free bread cut like pizza slices. I think it was fried with sesame seeds on top and vegetable inside.
Overall a fun experience for our palate.

The pork and vegetable bun was definitely my favorite savory item. Donuts are also 10/10. There was a pretty good line when we got there but it only took around 20 minutes to get out food when all was said and done so don’t be discouraged by a line.

Updating review to reflect latest experience. Why the deliberate slowdown? Bigger crowd, more publicity? Who knows. But waiting in line for 55 minutes, for them to process about 15 orders, is crazy. Three workers were behind the counter, but only one was helping customers. Other two were busy.eating & texting.

Not too friendly staff. Tell us to leave after we asked if there lard in the egg tart because of allergies and religious reasons. I could understand if they didn’t have anything available that meets our dietary needs, but most places we go, they simply would just answer no, we don’t, not “you should leave and go”… it was a bit weird actually because I personally ask this question a lot but never gotten this reaction before. So many they are making too much money to care about customer service. Just FYI to those wondering, there’s lard in everything (even things that doesn’t have oil in it, apparently),

Amazing dim sum Chinese bakery place. Was a line out the door when we got there. Amazing buns, including the steamed bbq pork bun and scallion buns which were highlights. Sesame balls and seafood shumai were also very good. We ordered shumai, 3 buns, 1 order of 3 sesame balls, and an egg tart - well enough food for 2 people for only $12. A must go.
