GoodLife Cafe & Bakery reviews
19 A delicious breakfast is a must if you visit Mendocino.
If you visit Mendocino you cannot miss this place.lovely and cozy!
Small coffee shop. Great coffee, they do charge an automatic 15 percent gratuity on all food and drinks.
The quaint Mendocino Cafe is a great place to get breakfast and lunch. We plan to return on our next visit
A lovely place to have brunch or lunch. Cute outdoor sitting space, good food, fresh pastries.
Excellent experience. The coffee was very well done (I had a mocha) and the food and staff were warm and inviting. I also very much appreciate that they strive to pay a living wage to their employees.
We got the regular eggs benedict & the veggie eggs benedict and it was probably one of the best we’ve ever had! Sooo yumm.
What an amazing place! I am visiting from out of town and came back a second time which I never typically do. GOOD gluten free options (not just a sad stale overpriced cookie in a bag - real pastries and desserts!). I recommend the lemon blackberry scone for the GF people. The spicy mocha was also really good and actually had some spice, not too much. I got the tostadas (LOVE) and the huevo ranchero (pretty much the same thing but I liked the tostadas much more). It’s a great price for the value that you get. The aesthetic is cool and a little artsy without being cringey. The mugs they sell by the front window are beautiful! Outdoor seating has a roof and glass walls around it because not much indoor seating. Bathroom is very very tiny single room and perhaps not accessible for handicapped. Overall I love this place and highly recommend!
The coffees were good - on par with the best coffee shops we found along NorCal coast.
Lines and tourist crowds do not add to the charm. But do not ruin it either.
(Other commenters complaints about 15% surcharge seem senseless to me - this is much nicer than shaming a customer into paying a tip before service delivered as done but all places that use square’s payment tablet)
Love this place! The coffee tastes delicious (I brought a bag of ground coffee), the bacon was extremely delicious. Not to mention their bakery, it was delicious!
Awesome place. Great business model! I thought it was very nice to see the gratuity included in the total. Great environment! Will be coming back!
Almost didn't go because of the long line for brunch, but the line moved quickly, seating was a available, food came out pretty fast, and it was all yummy! We go here every time we are in Mendocino, and will be back for more!
My new favorite breakfast place! Sad I can only come here when visiting Mendocino because it is perfect. My vanilla latte was. The absolute best. And all the food and pastries are amazing.
We visited the cafe on a Saturday morning, there was a small line but the wait wasn’t bad at all. We picked up couple of pastries and 2 soups. The squash bisque and the chocolate croissant was wonderful. Highly recommend this cafe.
You really can’t go wrong here. It’s such a solid restaurant. The baked goods are tops— even just a drip coffee tastes so delicious here (Black Oak Roasters). The prices are reasonable for what you get. There are even some bargains on the menu, like homemade toast with jam & butter for three bucks. Omelettes are super, good potatoes. It’s nice to sit outside because of the lovely air. Have a great time!
Note: the lineup can be long. One way you can speed things up as to call your order in and pay in advance over the phone.
We visited this lovely place twice on our most recent trip to Mendocino. For Day 1, we had burrito with sauteed veggies & hot apple cider just before our kayaking. The Burrito was super filling ans tasted really delicious and just what we needed before our 3hour kayak. For Day 2, we dined in for brunch, we ordered Portobello sandwich, Avocado Toast & Belgian waffle with berries. Our favorite among all the dishes we ordered was the Avocado Toast, it was perfect blend of seasoning, flavor and the pickled onions made a huge difference to our tastbuds. Don't be discouraged by the crowd outside, it moves fast and it was worth the wait
This is a great stop in Mendocino. The breakfast was delicious; the eggs Benedict was especially tasty. We also had chicken fried steak and biscuits.
There will be a line at the door, but don’t let that dissuade you. It will wait in line to order and then choose your own table.
The coffee is great, and the vibes are pleasant.
There was always a line out the door, but it moves quickly. Best baked goods in Mendocino (we tried them all). None of the others came close to quality or selection.
The people working here were very kind and informative. A gentleman came out and told the people in line how the system works and kept people informed about wait times. (30 minutes)
The food itself was beyond disappointing. The key lime dessert tasted mostly like whipped creme and lime zest (slightly bitter) Huevos Mexicanos was so bland we had to put salt on it to have any flavor at all.
The only thing that was good were the banana walnut pancakes.
I couldn’t quite figure out why the place was so busy.
Nice people, not good food.
Excellent breakfast sandwich and coffee. Very busy but they managed the crowd very efficiently.
