Gould Mesa trail camp.
Backpacking

The round trip is about 4 miles and takes about 2 hours.
There are two ways to get to this campground: park in the JPl Riparian Zone (2 miles) or go from the parking lot on the Angeles Crest Highway (Lacanada/Flintridge) (0.8 miles). Cars cannot go to the campsite.at the JPL parking lot

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). After parking, go up about 0.7 miles along the river, then follow the fire road and hiking trail to the left at the fork and go about 1.3 miles to the campsite. Some roads and hiking trails have been lost due to heavy winter rains, but you can follow the red ribbon. The campsite is small and cozy, with a table, firering, and a simple toilet.
The Arroyo River flows, so it is a good place to cool off in summer, but there are mountains close to the front and back of the campsite, so there is not much wind and it can feel a bit stuffy.
Also, a lot of bugs here can be a downside. That's why I gave it 4 stars. If you go up about 1 mile along the hiking trail from the campsite, an artificial
You can see the created Brown Dam Falls. This trail is like a flat ground with few ups and downs.
Recommended for those new to backpacking.
There is no charge for using the campsite, and you can choose a site on a first-come, first-served basis.

It is a pack in camp. There is a clean bathroom. No showers. Picnic tables at each site. A babbling creek and only the sounds of nature. As a primitive camp I give it 5 stars.
